Dubai: New exit towards Ras Al Khor Road from Financial Centre to cut travel by half

Khaleej Times3 days ago
A new exit from Financial Centre Street towards Ras Al Khor Road, near Bu Kadra interchange, will open in early August that would help reduce peak-period travel time for vehicles heading towards Dubai–Al Ain Road by 54 per cent, from 13 minutes to 6 minutes, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Thursday.
The new exit will also double road capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour to reduce queues and improve traffic flow at the key junction in one of Dubai's busy areas, RTA noted.
RTA added the new exit complements a series of recent traffic improvements in Ras Al Khor area.
Earlier, Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road to Al Khail Road in the direction of Al Meydan Street was widened from a single lane to two lanes over a 500-metre stretch. This upgrade doubled capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour, reducing queues and cutting peak-period travel time from 7 minutes to 4 minutes, thereby improving traffic flow at this key junction.

Review: INA wraps up flame-grilled creations in tribal-inspired luxury

Inspired by the smoldering spirit of Africa, the name INA stands for 'fire' or 'flame' in Nigerian Yoruba. Located on the glamorous stretch of J1 Beach, a hotspot of cuisine and nightlife, this is one of the 13 destinations one can explore as they walk down the promenade. INA offers a juxtaposition of sorts – the food is primal, stripped down to the roots of open-fire cooking and seasonal flavours, while the interiors take tribal taste and give it that Dubai-style, nightlife oomph . The Vibe As soon as you step in , you eat with your eyes, because INA's interiors are a dim, delicious take on tribal-inspired luxury. Handcrafted woodwork, carefully curated greenery, fringed accents, traditional prints and rose gold lighting that sets the entire mood. The restaurant space feels intimate and exclusive, a compact central enclave surrounded by the stunning bar on one side and elevated seating on the other. In the winter months, guests can enjoy their evening under the stars with an open-air retractable roof. The Food and Drinks Created by Australian-born Chef Glen Ballis, the menu at INA is all about highlighting the singular power and beauty of fire. Every dish embraces simplicity, devoid of excess, fancy frills and theatrical presentation to offer a culinary experience that is uncluttered, authentic and true to the Earth. Plates like the char-grilled asparagus with whipped ricotta and bottarga, the padron peppers with smoked salt and the tomato carpaccio with green herb puree are the best examples of this – licked by flames, seasoned with minimal but quality ingredients, and still packing a punch. Mains like the carabinero prawns with pink peppercorn dressing, the fremantle octopus with herb vinaigrette and calamansi, and the oven-baked crab rice with tomato salsa take seafood, preserve it's freshness and dress it up in smoke and salt. The Service The staff are warm and lively, keeping the plates rotating at our table with almost stealthy efficiency. They offer us great recommendations and keep our party entertained with great energy. What to Order Striploin Tomato carpaccio Stracciatella Sour cream soft serve with charred strawberries What's On the Bill Dhs400-600 for two, including food and drinks. IHC and RIQ snnounce strategic 10-year alliance anchored by over $500mln in reinsurance premiums

RIQ to deliver AI-native risk transfer solutions tailored to IHC and its group companies. Partnership accelerates Abu Dhabi's rise as a global hub for reinsurance and intelligent risk management. Abu Dhabi, UAE – RIQ, the AI-native reinsurance platform purpose-built for the future of global risk transfer, has entered into a preferred reinsurance partnership with IHC, anchored by a targeted allocation of over USD 500 million in risk coverage within the coming decade. Based in ADGM and launched earlier this year by IHC in partnership with BlackRock and Lunate, RIQ will offer a full suite of reinsurance solutions, working closely with IHC and its portfolio companies to structure capital-efficient coverage across complex Specialty and Property and Casualty (P&C) risk classes. Leveraging advanced data modelling and AI-augmented underwriting, the platform is purpose-built to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving risk environment. This partnership represents IHC's commitment to pioneering intelligent capital deployment and transformative risk transfer solutions. By leveraging RIQ's AI-powered infrastructure, IHC aims to enhance the resilience and operational agility of its group companies. The collaboration also aligns with Abu Dhabi's ambition to lead globally in structured reinsurance and financial innovation. RIQ is currently advancing through its regulatory journey with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of ADGM, as it moves toward formal authorization as a reinsurer. In parallel, final preparations are underway for the execution of the reinsurance transaction between IHC and RIQ, which remains subject to regulatory clearance. This transaction will mark a foundational step in RIQ's operational rollout. Syed Basar Shueb, CEO of IHC, said: 'This partnership reflects IHC's conviction in the transformative power of intelligent capital and data-driven risk transfer. By aligning with RIQ, we are catalyzing the next chapter of Abu Dhabi's evolution as a global center for reinsurance innovation. This is not just a financial commitment, it is a strategic investment in the future of resilient infrastructure and industrial agility.' Mark Wilson, CEO of RIQ, noted: 'We are proud to collaborate with IHC in this milestone partnership. RIQ's platform is engineered to deliver intelligent risk solutions at pace, fusing advanced analytics, underwriting discipline, and strategic capital. This announcement marks a defining step in our mission to reshape global reinsurance from Abu Dhabi outward.'' Additional strategic updates are expected in the coming months, as RIQ executes on its global buy-and-build strategy. With over USD 1 billion in equity commitments from IHC and strategic partners BlackRock and Lunate, and anchored in AI-native infrastructure, RIQ aims to ultimately write USD 10 billion per year, redefining the future of reinsurance through intelligence, scale, and strategic discipline.
