Mrunal Thakur Says One Must Control What They Share Amid Dhanush Dating Rumours: 'Nazar Lagti Hai'

Mrunal Thakur is riding high after the release of Son of Sardaar 2, where she stars alongside Ajay Devgn. But even with the spotlight on her, the actress admits she prefers keeping her plans close to her chest — all thanks to her belief in the evil eye. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Mrunal spoke about how she's approaching her career and why she's careful about sharing too much.
'There are a lot of things I still need to do with my career, a lot of boxes I haven't checked. But I will talk about those things once I actually do them, because I don't want to jinx it by talking about them. I believe the whole nazar thing, 'boht nazar lagti hai'," she said.
For Mrunal, it's about setting boundaries when navigating the public side of showbiz. She explained why she avoids discussing her future projects openly — even when others do.
'Boundaries. One should think before speaking about oneself. You should control how much you are telling the world. Sometimes we end up saying the things we want to do or are doing currently, and we jinx it ourselves. I have a very different personality in that sense, because someone might talk about the number of releases they have next year. I don't want to talk about it; everyone knows what's coming and what's not. I don't like to constantly think and talk about the things that are happening in my life," she said.
Alongside her film work, Mrunal's personal life has also been making headlines. Rumour mills were abuzz after she was seen with Kuberaa actor Dhanush at a recent party. On August 1, a viral video captured the actor holding Mrunal's hand at her birthday party. Adding fuel to the fire, just hours earlier, Dhanush was also seen flying to Mumbai to attend the special screening of Son of Sardaar 2, which stars Mrunal alongside Ajay Devgn. A video from the event, shared widely on X (formerly Twitter), captured the duo in conversation. Mrunal can be seen leaning in to whisper something to Dhanush, sparking even more curiosity among fans. 'Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating?" one caption read, triggering a range of fan reactions.
Dhanush was previously married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth, with the couple parting ways in 2024 after two decades together.

'From all the details so far received, my preliminary impression is that it was obviously a case of temporary loss of sanity and control on both sides which could have led to serious fatalities," the Nigerian minister noted. Keyamo further emphasised that whether the flask contained water or alcohol was irrelevant compared to the seriousness of blocking an aircraft. 'It is the physical blockage of the aircraft from taxiing that is the reprehensible conduct here which akin to a hostage situation," he added. Following the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority also suspended the licences of both the captain and pilot involved. KWAM 1 is an iconic figure in southwest Nigeria, renowned for his traditional fuji music—a genre rooted in the Yoruba community. He is also a close affiliate of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, having performed at numerous party rallies and the presidential inaugural ball in May 2023. Recalling the experience, he shared, 'We were shooting the piano scene, when she says something and he just kisses her forehead and he's leaving. When that shot happened, I just walked out of that… We were shooting in Madh Island, I walked out and Sumana, who's our creative producer, was on set, and I said, 'Sumana, I am making a very good film.'" Suri is known for evoking raw, unfiltered emotions through his stories, and he admitted that the honesty brought in by the cast—Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda—moved him to tears. 'I cry on the monitor. I've cried quite a few times. But I don't like to talk about it because I've seen a lot of directors become mimics of themselves and cry when they don't need to," he added. The collections are an added bonus, no doubt, but it's the love that's so humbling," he said. Suri credited the film's producers for giving him the freedom to create without commercial pressure. 'They never gave me a number, never asked for a certain kind of opening or chartbuster. They just said, give us your best film, give us your best music," he said. 'That's what gave me the wings to fly, to be fearless."
