Peter Andre, 52, reveals awkward moment with wife Emily, 35, as he makes a rare comment about their 16-year age gap

Daily Maila day ago

Peter Andre has recalled an awkward moment that emphasised his 16-year age gap with wife Emily.
The Mysterious Girl singer, 52, was introduced to the NHS doctor, 35, by her father when he was 36 and she was just 20.
After striking up an initial friendship, the pair began dating in 2012 before going on to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony three years later in 2015.
The couple have three children together and despite the strength of their relationship, Peter has admitted their 16-year age gap can still be very apparent.
The star told how Emily revealed her age difference during a hilarious blunder at the Pride Of Britain Awards.

Peter told how iconic rocker Jon Bon Jovi, 63, came to their table at the annual award ceremony to strike up a conversation.
Writing in his column for new! magazine, he said: 'There's one thing we do laugh about, though… We were at the Pride of Britain Awards one year and Jon Bon Jovi came over to chat. I've met him many times over the years and he's a lovely person.
'He introduced himself to Emily and after he walked away, she turned to me and said, "Who was that?" I was like, "Are you serious? It's Bon Jovi". In the most confused but innocent voice, she said, "What's a Bon Jovi?"
'We laughed about that a lot afterwards! It's in those moments we may realise the age gap - usually with music and films – but in general, we love the same things. I think it's what works for you in a relationship. Who are we to judge?'
The star emphasised that the age gap between him and Emily - 16 years - 'really works' for the couple.
He added: 'It all depends on the relationship, how the partners are with each other and how they view things, I think. There's a 16-year gap between me and Emily, and it really works for us.'
Peter that they had a 'good laugh' about her lack of knowledge of classic rock music and said that it's really just popular culture references that set the couple apart.
The couple largely keep their relationship - and their children Amelia, 11, Theo, eight, and Arabella, 13 months - out of the spotlight, but fans of the family could soon be seeing them more.
MailOnline recently revealed that Peter and Emily will feature in his daughter Princess Andre's forthcoming ITV reality show.
Peter co- parents Princess, who turns 18 later this month, and her older brother Junior, 19, with his ex-wife Katie Price, 47.
The former couple famously met on the 2004 series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and married the following year.
The relationship came to an abrupt end in 2009 and Katie has gone on to have numerous engagements and marriages since.
Peter, meanwhile, met Emily after he had a kidney stone removed by her father, Dr Ruaraidh MacDonagh, a consultant urologist, back in 2010.
Katie is not set to appear in Princess' new fly-on-the-wall programme, which will see the influencer become a celebrity in her own right.
The show will follow her work and home life as she prepares to reach the milestone age of 18 and last month, the popular teenager was spotted with a camera crew outside the London offices of hair styling brand GHD.
A television insider told MailOnline: 'Katie will not be in Princess's show, the decision has been made and it's final.
'Princess loves her mum, and they have a great relationship, but the show is all about her work and home life.
'Television bosses were adamant that nothing was to be 'staged' to include Katie as it would not be a real and truthful insight into her life.'

Brian Cox documentary maker dies in Alps accident

A leading British documentary maker has died in a mountaineering accident in the French Alps. Michael Lachmann, 54, slipped and fell while climbing down the Grands Couloirs glacier in the Vanoise National Park on Sunday morning. The father of two, the son of Sir Peter Lachmann, the Cambridge immunologist, was in the region to visit a property his family had owned for many years. Known as one of Britain's leading factual directors and producers, Mr Lachmann helped turn Prof Brian Cox into a household name following their work together on the BBC's Wonders series of programmes about nature and space. Prof Helen Lachmann, his sister, described him as 'the most lovely, funny, talented, witty, clever man and film-maker'. She added: 'He knew everything about everything, and made it sound fresh and funny. He adored his two boys, they were the centre of his whole life. He was much loved, and he will be much missed.' Award-winning career Mr Lachmann's career as a filmmaker spanned two decades, during which he was nominated for an Emmy and three Baftas, winning one. As well as Wonders, he made programmes about the Celts, Albert Einstein, Sir Stephen Hawking and cosmonauts. He was known for pioneering the use of CGI to portray space and prehistoric Earth, as well as filming underwater and in extreme environments. Mr Lachmann's agent said he had most recently been a showrunner for the series Spacetime Capsule, which offered 'unprecedented access to Chinese science and technology' and was released last year. In recent years he also directed a 90-minute film starring Prof Cox about Mars for BBC Two, along with an Emmy-nominated documentary about Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Mr Lachmann became a BBC producer and director after completing science degrees at Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge. He also worked with BBC presenters Marcus du Sautoy and the late Michael Mosley.
