The image, taken in a restaurant, saw actor Dom Monaghan posing with fellow screen icon Dame Patricia Routledge, 96.
The pair starred together in BBC series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, with Patricia playing the 60-year-old Lancashire lass solving mysteries with common sense.
Dom, 48, played her assistant Geoffrey Shawcross from 1996 to 1998 and the duo clearly still have a close bond.
The Lord of the Rings star posted their happy snap to his page and wrote: "25 YEARS later!
"So wonderful to see Dame Patricia.
"We always shared a love of acting, of actors, of the natural world and all of the curiosities of life, it was fantastic to spend a couple of hours doing the same!
"She still tells fantastic stories, loves great food and wine, and as always is sharp as a tack, with fantastic skin and style.
"She taught me so much, and continues to do so, aging with a class and quality I hope to emulate."
He then added the caption: "hettywainthroppinvestigates forever! #becurious."
The series ran spanned four series before it wrapped in 1998.
Fans were left delighted by the unexpected reunion and one put: "So happy you got to meet up with her again after all these years.

"Her storytelling is amazing."
A second put: "The Hetty Wainthropp duo reunited!! That was such a lovely show. You both look very well!"
A third gushed: "This absolutely made our day to see the two of you together again."
One then confessed: "I am legit crying she's a national treasure."
Another posted: "Awww this is so heartwarming ty for sharing Dom!" as one surmised: "This is the best!!
"I loved you two in Hetty Wainthrop! You had such a good relationship on screen."
Dame Patricia was left annoyed when the show wrapped and at the time she said: "We were betrayed by the BBC.
"We finished series four of Hetty Wainthropp, we were told there was going to be series five.
"But no word ever came - how rude."
SCREEN QUEEN
Previously, Dame Patricia stunned diners as she stepped out at a restaurant just before Christmas.
She also played snobby character Hyacinth Bucket in the hit series Keeping Up Appearances, which ran from 1990 to 1995.
After a glittering stage career she made her film debut in 1967's To Sir With Love as teacher Clinty Clintridge alongside singer Lulu and actor Sidney Poitier.
She later scored household fame when she played Keeping Up Appearances' iconic character Hyacinth Bucket - of course pronounced Bouquet - for the show's five-year run.
She also starred in Talking Heads, a series of dramatic monologues written for the BBC by acclaimed playwright Alan Bennett.
He wrote three especially for her – A Lady of Letters, Miss Fozzard Finds her Feet and A Woman of No Importance.
Despite her age and a career spanning more than 70 years, the star still looks incredibly youthful.
In 2017, Patricia, who has never married and does not have children, was made a Dame thanks to her services to entertainment and charity.
She is a patron of the Beatrix Potter Society and in 2008 received a Doctors of Letters degree from Lancaster University for her contribution to drama and theatre.

Suzanne Harrington: In an awful world, we need Liam and Pamela's love to last

At last! Some good news. These days we'll take anything. Kitten rescued from tree. Seagull befriends traffic warden. Tenner found down back of sofa. Anything at all. Anything that isn't going to trigger our adrenals, send our cortisol into orbit, or traumatise our eyeballs as we struggle towards sleep after a long day of trying to avoid the news. It is therefore with unreasonable and disproportionate levels of joy that we greet the news about Pammy and Liamo. Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson — is this the best, most straightforwardly glorious piece of news to reach our overstimulated central nervous systems since Johnny Logan won the Eurovision in 1980? I'd say yes. A surge of genuine happiness — actual endorphins — course through us as we watch them being cute together. Seeing them double-entendre-ing about her home-made muffin was a special moment in the recent media hellscape. At last. Some genuine loveliness has made the news. Not the kind of promotional power-couple fakery concocted by Turkey-teethed PRs, not some staged Instagram nobodies desperate for likes; nope. Pammy and Liamo are too old for that. And they are not nobodies. Not going to lie — when she first popped into our consciousness, slo-moing across our screens in that red swimming costume, a Glamazonian Farrah Fawcett for the '90s, my initial reaction was… meh. A human Barbie, decades before Greta Gerwig made Barbie great again. Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson in The Naked Gun Amid the acid house fliers wall-papering the side of the fridge in our shared house, a boyfriend had blu-tacked a glittery picture of Pammy, incongruous amid the Beatrice Dalle, the Riot Grrls and Tank Girls. He was being ironic, he said — Baywatch was as naff as Michael Hasselhoff's pants. The reality was that every straight male with a pulse would have crawled through broken glass for a glimpse of her. When that sex tape happened in 1996, the misogyny was off the charts. I fell in love with Pammy for a different reason; turns out she was a massive animal rights advocate. An animal lover beyond dogs and cats. My kinda lady. Then came the 2022 miniseries, Pammy & Tommy, which she hated, but which increased our respect for her even more, as we got an idea of what she'd been though. There were the friendships with Vivienne Westwood and Julian Assange. Not your average starlet. We now find ourselves in full blown Pammy Renaissance — outdoing herself in The Last Showgirl, the chic makeup-less elegance, the idyllic non-Hollywood life in Canada. The refusal to be anyone but herself. The sons she adores, who adore her back. And now Liam. As a generic car-chase movie type with a growly voice, he was never on my radar — he's not as flashy as Colin Farrell, or as actorly as Brendan Gleeson, or as Bondy as Pierce Brosnan — but then Derry Girls happened. Turns out he's funny. To meet on the set of a Naked Gun remake is adorable and hilarious and just a little bit ludicrous, which makes them all the sweeter. So thanks for brightening our day, Pammy and Liamo. Thanks for putting old school romance front and centre. The only thing I'm worried about is that she's my age and he's 73. Let's hope he's up to his tonsils in green juice and vegan Omegas — because as a symbol of love in a world full of awful, we need them to last.

Dear Denise: I had sex with best pal's uncle at wedding

Sort your love life with honest and practical tips from Denise Smith 'We thought we were being pretty discreet but it turns out we put on bit of a show' Dear Denise: I was bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding last month and ended up getting so drunk that I had sex with her married uncle. I haven't been able to climb out of the hole since and honestly think everyone hates me. It was late after the residents' bar and we snuck off to the bathroom. We thought we were being pretty discreet but it turns out we put on bit of a show. His wife, who he told me he was separated from, wasn't in attendance — thankfully. My best friend won't answer my calls. I want to relocate to a remote cabin in the woods and never return again. Answer: I understand why you would want to disappear from the grid, but running from your problems isn't going to help anyone. It was your best friend's wedding and you may have played a role in causing upset. While you're entitled to let your hair down, you might have put your friend in a very awkward and difficult situation. Give her the time and space she deserves to navigate this chapter and don't bombard her with texts and calls. The uncle may have said he was separated, but having sex in a toilet at your closest friend's wedding wasn't exactly respectful. With honesty, patience, and respect, you can rebuild your friendship. Make sure you have someone you can talk to, or book in with a therapist if you're struggling. Query: I slept with a guy and he's ghosted me, but still looks at all my stories and likes my Instagram posts. Is this not psychotic? Answer: Ah, welcome to the world of 'orbiting' where someone will hover without engaging, just to keep you as an option. I recommend blocking him now. Query: MY new boyfriend asked me if I ever watched porn or used a vibrator and I lied and said no. Now I feel guilty. Answer: You don't have to tell your other half everything. It's telling that you don't feel comfortable yet to share everything, and that's OK. Go at your own pace. Email your problems to: Denise Smith
