How long is the Nioh 3 demo? Alpha length and when it becomes inaccessible
The Nioh 3 demo is currently available to download and play on PS5, and is said to be a pretty big chunk of the game - but it won't be around for long
The new demo for Nioh 3 is now live, and gamers are having a field day – but they'll need to be quick to get a good look at this early glimpse of the game.
Since its unveiling during this showcase season, Nioh 3 has been holding the interest of players eager for a truly challenging gaming experience. The latest installment in the lineage of intense Action RPG games, most recently headlined by the outstanding Nioh 2 from 2020, promises even more adventures across Japan, undoubtedly punctuated with fierce boss battles that will require hours to conquer.
Nioh 3 appears eager to give players a sample of its forthcoming gameplay, having already released a new demo on PS5 that allows fans to try out both its Samurai and Ninja combat styles. Some players claim it's longer than many full games – but it won't be available on PlayStation for long.
So, just how long is the Nioh 3 demo? Here's all you need to know about this tantalising taster of what the game has in store.
How long is the Nioh 3 demo?
New feedback from gamers suggests that the Nioh 3 demo, officially known as the Nioh 3 Alpha demo, will keep players occupied for around four to eight hours. Twitter user @ChrisZanar shared that it took him four hours to complete the demo and an additional two hours to explore everything, while a recent Reddit thread revealed that another player spent eight hours and 20 minutes to fully experience what the demo has to offer.
If these accounts are anything to go by, it's a substantial demo that's well worth the time investment. However, this doesn't mean fans can play it at their leisure.
How long is the Nioh 3 demo available?
You can download and play the Nioh 3 demo until Wednesday, June 18, according to the demo's PlayStation Store page. After this date, access to the demo will be cut off.
It's an odd restriction for a demo that seems to be receiving rave reviews, but if this is the price for an extended sneak peek at the new game, then we'll just have to accept it. The Nioh 3 demo is here for a good time, not a long time.

BBC radio star lets rip expletive outburst live on air after burst of cramp
A BBC star had to 'profusely apologise' after an expletive outburst was mistakenly heard live on air while presenting his lunchtime radio show A BBC radio presenter had to apologise after a huge blunder led to him swearing live on air. After speaking to listeners, BBC Radio Derby host Ian Skye was left embarrassed when his expletives were heard live on air when he thought he had cut from his segment. Ian told listeners to message in if they had any requests. However, as the show's jingle began to play, stunned listeners would have heard an in-pain Ian curse in agony. In the background, the presenter wails: "Ow, f***ing hell," before the show cuts back to the presenters chatting after a song had played. As his co-host joked they had been on a training course the day before to improve their presenting skills, they said: "I don't think they suggested suddenly getting unbearably agonising cramp and shouting really loud on the radio." Ian stuttered in response, saying: "No, that's probably not what I should have come in and done today." He then added: "Can I just say, if before that amazing song from Kate Bush, and I say if. You'd have had to be deaf if you didn't hear a rude word. "I really profusely apologise. You know when something happens and it's just instinct. My very, very calm producer said 'you're still on the radio, Ian." After TV critic Scott Bryan shared the clip to his Twitter /X page, users were left in hysterics. One user simply replied with three crying with laughter emoji faces. Another said: "I don't [think] this will be going up on BBC Sounds with swearing in it." They then questioned: "Didn't it happen to Radio 2s Sara Cox Once?" The incident comes days after fans of The One Show were left stunned as Lulu appeared to swear on live television. While reminiscing about her career with the presenters, the iconic pop star had a slip of the tongue. However, it didn't go unnoticed by viewers with keen hearing. While there wasn't an immediate apology on air, the reactions of the presenters were unmistakable as they processed the unforeseen gaffe. At the time, Lulu was sharing an anecdote about a conversation she had with Tina Turner. She quoted: "And Tina, I have to tell you something else. Tina said, 'I love it, it is just my life story' and I went, 'Hey girl, it is my f***ing life story'." With a rueful smile, Lulu added, "I didn't say it straight to her face, though," which led to Alex slowly nodding, utterly speechless. Viewers picked up on the moment and took to social media to vent their feelings. "Did I hear her right?," one stunned viewer questioned. Another, who was clearly entertained by the mishap, humorously commented: "Lulu just dropped an f bomb."

'Chilling' horror with 91% on Rotten Tomatoes soars up Amazon Prime chart
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A thrilling 2024 horror movie that produced an unexpected career turn for a famous British actor is proving a hit with Amazon Prime Video viewers. Heretic, which starred Hugh Grant as the eccentric and creepy Mr. Reed, was released in November last year to widespread critical acclaim. The film follows the story of two Mormon missionaries who visit Mr. Reed's home after he expresses interest in joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The two missionaries – Sister Barnes (Sophie Thatcher) and Sister Paxton (Chloe East) – immediately realise they're in a situation that's more than they bargained for. While Heretic only made back $60million (£44m) at the global box office, that was still roughly six times larger than the budget it was made with – $10m (£7m). And critics were fans too, with Heretic currently boasting a Rotten Tomatoes critic rating of 91%, a critic score of 7.3 out of 10, and an audience rating of 76%. The film was recently added to the massive libraries of horrors on Amazon Prime Video, and viewers are already sending it soaring up the trending charts. @Matthieson4426 celebrated the turn from Hugh Grant: 'Heretic. Hugh Grant is absolutely brilliant. Manages to make an unarmed middle aged man in a brown jumper epically scary. A great watch.' Elsewhere, @MandoDameron was excited that 'Heretic is on Amazon Prime at last!' with a series of emojis implying they were running to watch it. @MontyIsBlessed also couldn't get enough: 'Theologically thrilling and brilliant — I never imagined a movie and theology could bang this hard.' @PaulDuncan67 said: 'Hugh Grant gets better every time I watch him. Heretic is totally absorbing… It takes real talent to demand your attention with minimal players.' @Luluhit said: 'I had no idea this film was so impressive, packed with exquisite dialogue. It's like I've been in a classroom… They come back and tell you the truth right in your face.' On Reddit, SomeGreatGoodThing joked: 'I honestly can't imagine something more horrifying than being trapped in a room with a man telling me his opinions on religion, so this movie really worked for me.' As well as starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East, Heretic also features That 70s Show actor Topher Grace as Elder Kennedy, who makes a brief appearance in the film. More Trending For Metro, film critic Tori Brazier described Heretic as a 'horror reinvention' and said Hugh's career is now 'less and less defined by his bumbling rom-com persona from the 90s'. She also described it as an 'intriguing prospect with its approach to debate and engaging Mr Reed in a confined cat-and-mouse chase with two Mormon missionaries'. Heretic was co-written and co-directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the horror film super team who were also behind the 2018 apocalypse movie A Quiet Place. Watch Heretic on Amazon Prime Video now.
