One of our favourite clothing brands to shop online, River Island has seen an impressive upgrade to its standards in recent years, with a range of artist collaborations (such as Nephthys Illustrated and Joe Horner), designer dupes and fast-selling tailored styles.
River Island has remained on the high street when other brands have fallen through the cracks, continuing to produce beautiful clothing inspired by the latest trends and the brand's heritage style archives. Nearly all of the brand's pieces are designed in-house in London, and it remains dedicated to providing purse-friendly, stylish fashion.
If you've had your eye on a pair of barrel jeans or a pretty cotton dress in time for the warmer weather, there are a bunch of ways that you can save on your next River Island shop.

We'd use the opportunity to save and shop some beautiful pieces for the summer, such as the red long-sleeve embroidered dress (£59, Riverisland.com), which looks a lot more expensive than it is.

We're really impressed with River Island's spring and summer staples, with a great selection of new dresses, bags, jeans and more.
The white sleeveless strappy corset midi dress (£59, Riverisland.com) was named our best white dress for summer. 'Cups and A-line pleating down the skirt adds to the chic look,' said senior shopping writer, Daisy. 'The minimalist white colour means it will slot into your existing wardrobe, whether styled with flip flops on holiday or red kitten heels in the evening.'

How to transform your home & add £10K to the value in just ONE MONTH & there's a £5 buy that'll save your tired bathroom

MOVING house can be stressful when it comes to trying to get the most money for your house or flat. Thankfully there are some very savvy tricks which can boost the value of your pad by a whopping £10,000 in just one month. 4 For as little as just £5, you can transform your property and make it more attractive to buyers with very little effort. Interiors expert Laura Carter, from the online store Furniturebox, shared ten quick and easy tips for an instant home make-over and crucial buying hacks for new home owners… 1. Declutter Start by removing any unnecessary items from each room to create a sense of spaciousness and calm. Organise bookshelves, surfaces, and storage areas for a more polished look. 2. Rearrange furniture Experiment with different furniture arrangements to create new focal points and improve traffic flow. Consider moving large pieces like sofas, beds, or tables to optimise space and create a fresh feel. 3. Add a splash of colour Introduce new colours through textiles like throw pillows, blankets, rugs, or curtains. Consider painting an accent wall or a focal point like the front door for a bold statement. 4. Shed new light Swap out outdated lighting fixtures for more stylish options like pendant lights, sconces, or floor lamps. Consider dimmable bulbs for creating a warmer, more inviting atmosphere. 6 ways to make your house look posh on a budget 5. Embrace nature Incorporate natural elements by adding indoor plants and flowers to bring life and freshness to your space. Consider incorporating natural materials like wood, stone, or woven textures for a calming effect. 6. Accessorise Use mirrors to enhance light and create the illusion of more space. Display artwork or personal photos to add character and personality to your rooms. Style surfaces like coffee tables and bookshelves with intention, using odd-number groupings and varied heights. 7. Clean the carpets 4 It costs £4,000 to recarpet a new home but the carpets you have inherited may just need a spring clean. Get rid of those old coffee and wine stains and they will look great for a good few years. You don't need to bring in a professional firm - a good carpet steam cleaner can be hired for as little as £25 a day. 8. Flout the grout Tatty tiles in kitchen and bathrooms can be transformed with an extra strong cleaner from a DIY store. Revamping the grouting around your tiles is as important as cleaning them, and can have a big impact. A clever trick is to invest in a £5 grout pen which can spruce up dull or yellowing grout and freshen-up the look of a bathroom, kitchen or toilet. 4 9. Invest to impress There are lots of ways to add value without spending big but it is worth splashing out on a few 'investment pieces' - a big and bold new sofa can transform a living room and it is worth paying a little extra for a stunning dining set. One 2025 design tip is 'curve core' which is all about rounded edges, warm tones and organic shapes. 10. Get a little help from your friends Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and if there is a look that a friend has that you love, don't be afraid to adapt it to your own home. There may be a lamp, mirror or coffee table they have that you know would look great in your home too. Chances are they have borrowed the idea from someone else anyway. How to add 20k value to your home Property expert Jonathan Rolande shares 12 simple, affordable hacks that could help add £20k of value to your property… Banish bins - before the estate agent takes photos, move them out of sight. Value added: £3k Update the drapes - and tie curtains back to allow more light in. Value added: £1k Go greige - swap garish painted walls for a neutral hue – like grey or beige – but don't be too bland. A splash of colour on a feature wall, cushions or cabinets will add a little interest. Value added: £2k.

Travis Kelce lifts lid on relationship with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce has discussed his relationship with Taylor Swift in a new British GQ profile, stating that with her, he feels like a "regular person" and they are "just two people that are in love" away from cameras. The NFL star and pop superstar have been dating since summer 2023. Kelce expressed admiration for Swift's work ethic and her understanding of the intense public scrutiny they both experience in their respective careers. He also described Swift as an 'athlete' for her exhausting stage shows: 'I've seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it's mind-blowing.' Kelce revealed he attended 14 of Swift's Eras Tour concerts, while Swift supported him at 23 NFL games and has become a keen football fan.

River Island's £35 'Taylor Swift' dress that was £85 matches new 'Showgirl' era

Swifties can now match with their favourite singer with this sparkly orange dress Taylor Swift fans have been thrilled today, August 12, after the hit Eras Tour star announced that her 12th studio album will be coming out soon. Talking on her boyfriend and his brother's popular podcast, New Heights, early this morning, at 12.12am, she said her new record is called The Life Of A Showgirl. She kept the album cover hidden, and the rest of the artwork has yet to be revealed, but we know this upcoming 'Showgirl' era will have a colourful theme of orange and green. Taylor Swift's current profile picture on her social media accounts is a glittery orange padlock on top of a green background. The official Taylor Swift store is already teasing fans with pre-orders, and the aesthetic features a warm, orange, autumnal glow with a hint of glitter. To mark the news of her upcoming album, numerous fashion retailers have dropped the price of their orange and green coloured garments. For instance, River Island has reduced the cost of several orange shirts, tops, dresses and shoes. One particular piece of clothing perfectly matches Swift's glittery orange padlock, and it has dropped in price considerably. The high-street store's Orange Sequin Embellished Slip Midi Dress was £85, but it can now be purchased for just £35. The dress features all-over sequins to create a glittery effect, much like the promotional art for 'TS12'. Its bright shade of orange is also a fantastic match. The slip dress finishes just above the ankles and includes a cowl neckline. Sizes vary from a UK size six to a 16. The model wearing the Orange Sequin Embellished Slip Midi Dress in the pictures online teams the gown with black strappy heels, a thick gold bracelet and gold earrings. If you are looking to match Taylor Swift's latest album, there are plenty of other orange and green items to consider besides River Island, such as this Never Fully Dressed sequin tank top co-ord that's available on ASOS for £79. New Look is selling this AX Paris Green Printed Slit Hem Maxi Dress for £48. Another option for something a bit different is this rose gold plated Philip Jones Padlock Necklace with Zircondia Crystals for £9.99. If you like the look of River Island's £35 Orange Sequin Embellished Slip Midi Dress, it can be bought online and delivered to your door for an extra £4. However, delivery is free on orders over £65. There aren't any reviews for the dress on River Island's website, but for those keen for customer feedback, reading through reviews on Trustpilot may help. On the website, one shopper who left a five-star review said: "Love River Island staff members and managers are so helpful and friendly l love their clothing and accessories brillant store hope the survive as the best shop on high street for great quality clothing shop nowhere else." Another said: "River island shoes and clothes are true to size and I only shop from River Island. I shop from River island at least twice a month." A third put: "Great range of quality clothing. Sizing is accurate and store staff are always helpful. Love shopping here!" However, some unimpressed shoppers left comments. One wrote: "Sizing is awful!!! I'm a size 10 normally so I ordered some high waisted shorts in a 10. Couldn't get them to do up at all!! Ordered a 12 and the exact same thing!! Went straight back." A second said: "Products arrived in good order but I paid for a specific delivery day and this was not honoured." A third claimed: "I used to like River Island but the last couple of times I've ordered clothes they have been sent stuffed into bags that are too small for the items and have had strong smells." But not all feedback is poor. Another pleased shopper said: "Overall, I'm loving shopping at River Island this season—great style, great service, great vibe." One more said: "I always have a positive experience in-store but have recently also used their online service and ordered to collect in store. The items arrived promptly and you can return easily to the store. Really pleased."
