MVP Clarifies Whether He's Retired From Competing
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight Podcast, MVP shared that he has not officially retired from in-ring action. The former WWE United States Champion recalled the aforementioned six-person tag team match and shared that being in the ring wrestling once again felt very good.

'No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me. It's funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, 'Are you ever gonna tag out?' I'm like oh yeah, maybe I should,' MVP said.

The Hurt Syndicate has become a dominant faction in AEW in a very short time. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are the current AEW World Tag Team Champions.
It seems like MVP is open to wrestling more frequently. If that is the case, would you like to see MVP and the rest of the Hurt Syndicate go after the World Trios Championships?

James Harden includes Sixers' Joel Embiid in all-time teammate lineup
The James Harden-Joel Embiid duo for the Philadelphia 76ers wasn't together for a long time, but their production on the floor was fantastic. Harden was the perfect complement for Embiid as his wizardry with the ball as a playmaker made the game so much easier for everybody involved. In the 2022-23 season, Harden averaged a league-leading 10.7 assists and helped Embiid win the MVP award. The duo was almost unstoppable as the two of them played off each other so well in Philadelphia. However, after Harden was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, things seemed to go sour between the two of them. When Harden made his return to Philly in March of 2024, he was asked if he still talks to Embiid with which he simply replied: "No." Then, Embiid told ESPN that he doesn't know why he and Harden don't talk anymore. However, it appears that the respect is still there for the big fella as Harden was recently asked to put together his all-time teammate starting lineup and Embiid was included in it. It's high praise when considering the players that The Beard has played with in his career. The Harden and Embiid era didn't produce much playoff success--though they were very close to the Eastern Conference finals in 2023 before blowing a 3-2 lead to the Boston Celtics--but they were highly productive. The Sixers were able to lean on those two for a lot of their success.

WWE Reportedly Planning Major John Cena Match
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE is reportedly planning its most aggressive competitive move against AEW to date. New reports indicate the company will run a main roster premium live event on the same night as AEW's All Out pay-per-view in September, and the show will be headlined by a legendary, WrestleMania-caliber match. According to reports from POST Wrestling and the Wrestling Observer, the new, yet-to-be-named WWE event is planned for Saturday, September 20th. The show's main event is slated to be Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Showdown The planned WWE event in Indianapolis, Indiana, is expected to go directly head-to-head with AEW's All Out pay-per-view, which is scheduled for the same night at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed the blockbuster main event for the WWE show. "The main event for the show is Brock Lesnar and John Cena, so it's a big one," Meltzer said. He noted that this is the reason Lesnar is not scheduled for the Clash in Paris event at the end of August, as WWE was saving his return match for this specific show. The Final Chapter Of A Legendary WWE Rivalry The match is the direct result of the shocking conclusion to SummerSlam just over a week ago. At the event, Brock Lesnar made his controversial return to WWE after a nearly two-year absence, brutally attacking John Cena after his main event match. The match in September will be the epic final chapter in their violent, historic rivalry and a key part of Cena's 2025 farewell tour. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match While Lesnar's return has been met with a mixed reaction due to his name being included in the Janel Grant lawsuit, WWE is moving forward with one of the biggest dream matches in modern history. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: John Cena celebrates after defeating Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, move marks a major escalation in the competition between WWE and AEW. While WWE has previously run its developmental brand, NXT, on the same day as AEW pay-per-views, this is the first time a main roster premium live event will go in direct competition. By loading their show with a main event as massive as Lesnar vs. Cena, WWE is making an aggressive play to draw viewers away from one of AEW's "big four" pay-per-views of the year. This is the most direct instance of head-to-head competition between the two companies since the "Wednesday Night War" ended in 2021. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
