Kasrawy Launches Locally-Made Citroën C4X in Egypt
The new Citroën C4X will be assembled at the Arab American Vehicles (AAV) factory in Cairo, a facility of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), in collaboration with Stellantis—Citroën's parent company.
This milestone highlights Egypt's ability to meet global manufacturing standards, and reflects the strong partnership between the private sector and national institutions in advancing local automotive production. It also reinforces Kasrawy Group's commitment to strategic growth in Egypt, in line with the national vision to localize vehicle manufacturing and elevate the local automotive industry through world-class quality and innovation.
Kasrawy Group unveiled the new Citroën C4X's features, available to Egyptian consumers in two trim levels: the entry trim 'Feel', comes well-equipped with Citroën signature comfort features and safety technologies. While the premium 'Shine' version offers premium styling touches such as a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance features. With starting prices of EGP 1,289,000 for the Feel trim and EGP 1,449,000 for Shine, the C4X enters the compact crossover segment as a strong contender, reinforcing Citroën's commitment to offering European quality at accessible prices for the Egyptian market.
'We are proud to introduce the new Citroën C4X—now built by Egyptian hands. This milestone reflects our confidence in the strength and potential of the Egyptian market and reaffirms our mission to expand locally and deliver high-quality vehicles supported by local capabilities,' said Eng. Mostafa Hussein, Vice President of Kasrawy Group Automotive Sector. 'Our partnership with Stellantis continues to focus on customer-centric strategies, from local production and access to cutting-edge technology through AOI facilities, to competitive pricing and exceptional after-sales service. This launch marks the beginning of a new chapter in Egypt's automotive landscape—where global innovation seamlessly merges with local expertise to deliver vehicles truly 'Made in Egypt'.'
Similarly, Hesham Hosny, Managing Director of Stellantis Egypt, emphasized: 'The local assembly of the new Citroën C4X is a strategic move that puts the Egyptian customer first. Local manufacturing not only ensures more stable pricing in a dynamic market, but also enables faster parts availability, and more responsive after-sales support through Kasrawy Group's extensive network. This initiative reflects Stellantis' unwavering commitment to supporting Egypt's industrial progress and to delivering vehicles tailored specifically to local conditions—whether through performance on Egyptian roads or climate-adapted air conditioning. By assembling the C4X locally, we can better meet the growing demand, shorten delivery times, and enhance overall customer experience, making the C4X more accessible and reliable for Egyptian drivers.'
The new C4X is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged PureTech engine producing 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The design merges the sophistication of a fastback sedan with the practicality and elevated stance of an SUV, offering spacious interiors and a generous 510-liter trunk.
Since becoming Citroën's exclusive distributor in Egypt in May 2019, Kasrawy Group has driven remarkable growth by revitalizing the French brand through new model launches, competitive pricing, and improved aftersales services. In 2020, Citroën Egypt recorded the highest global growth rate outside France, with a 166% market share increase and over 5,300 units sold—despite pandemic challenges—positioning Egypt as a key market in the brand's global strategy. Achieving this remarkable success in a short time helped reinforce Citroën's presence in Egypt, and position the Egyptian market as a key driver in the brand's global expansion strategy.
Today, Kasrawy Group stands as one of Egypt's most prominent automotive distributors, known for its diverse portfolio of international automotive brands such as Citroën, Jetour, JAC, IVECO, and JAC Motors commercial vehicles. This Foot Long Shrimp Sandwich Costs EGP 150
One bite in, and you'll be questioning everything you know about market economics. Aug 04, 2025 Somewhere between the toothpaste aisle and the discount mop buckets at Gomla Market lives a foot-long fried shrimp sandwich that's causing a quiet, breaded revolution. For just EGP 150, you get a seafood behemoth the length of a regulation ruler and the structural integrity of a Jenga tower on a trampoline. It arrives wrapped in enough foil to reflect satellite signals, stuffed with what we can only describe as the entire cast of Finding Nemo—lightly seasoned, heavily fried, unapologetically stacked. This sandwich is not here to play. It's here to crunch. It's here to drip mysterious pink sauce onto your shirt. It's here to challenge your sense of proportion and your cardiovascular system. Is it lunch? Is it a dare? Is it a lifestyle? Yes. One bite in, and you'll be questioning everything you know about market economics, shrimp-to-bread ratios, and why you ever paid more than this for anything. In conclusion: 10/10, would shrimp again.

MFA, FRA Sign Protocol within Framework of "Your Insurance in Egypt" initiative for Expatriates
Taarek Refaat Egypt has taken a significant step toward strengthening social protection for its expatriate citizens with the signing of a new cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) as part of the nationwide initiative "Your Insurance in Egypt". The agreement was signed on Sunday by Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, and Dr. Islam Azzam, Deputy Chairman of the FRA, in the presence of Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the FRA. The protocol aims to integrate Egyptians working abroad and their families into the national social protection system by enhancing the personal accident insurance policy. The revamped policy increases the compensation ceiling for death or total permanent disability to EGP 250,000, up from EGP 100,000, and will come into effect starting July 2025. This development marks a strategic shift in the government's approach to diaspora engagement, offering a broader and more inclusive insurance net. The coverage, previously limited to those holding official work permits under Law No. 173 of 1958, will now extend to all Egyptians working abroad and their families, regardless of permit status. The insurance policy will be administered by the Egyptian Travel Insurance Pool, which will oversee the expanded coverage structure. Egyptians abroad can subscribe to the policy via the pool's official website, mobile app, and WhatsApp, facilitating easier access to services and supporting efforts to boost insurance inclusion. Key benefits of the revised policy include: Coverage in the event of natural or accidental death while abroad. Compensation for total permanent disability resulting from accidents. Full coverage of actual costs for repatriating remains, up to a maximum of EGP 250,000. Equivalent compensation if burial occurs abroad, based on the average cost of body repatriation paid that year. Funds distributed to legal heirs, in the event of accidental death, after submitting required documentation. Eligibility is restricted to individuals aged 18 to 70 at the time of the insured incident. Officials emphasized that this cooperation reflects the state's ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive protection for Egyptians worldwide, aligning with broader efforts to promote financial inclusion, insurance accessibility, and social cohesion. "This initiative is not just an insurance policy; it's a declaration of responsibility to Egyptians wherever they are," said one senior official involved in the agreement. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
