Tribute film about North Wales' The Vivienne to air

The feature film, Dear Viv, will recount the life of James Lee Williams, who performed as the drag queen and died in January at the age of 32.
A coroner ruled that the performer's death was by misadventure when Williams suffered cardiorespiratory arrest after taking ketamine.
The superstar, who was born in North Wales and attended Rydal Penrhos school in Colwyn Bay, rose to fame after winning the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019 and came third in the 2023 series of Dancing On Ice.
Williams adopted the drag name as they were known for wearing Vivienne Westwood clothing.
Through a blend of interviews, family photos, home videos and behind-the-scenes Drag Race footage, the film will celebrate The Vivienne's life charting their journey from North Wales and Liverpool through to the global stage.
The film will also include interviews with Williams' family, early mentors and Drag Race friends including Baga Chipz, Michael Marouli and Danny Beard.
Tia Kofi will also feature in the film along with Cheryl Hole, Raja, Monet X Change, and Trinity The Tuck, as they pay tribute to the drag star.
The film also touches on the star's self-confessed struggle with ketamine addiction and the campaigning done by The Vivienne's sister, Chanel Williams, who argues for better awareness around the dangers of the drug.
Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, co-founders of World of Wonder, who produced the film, said: 'We wanted to celebrate The Vivienne and not just mourn her.
'Although she left us far too soon her life was defined by her breathtaking talent, scene-stealing charisma, and infinite kindness.
'We hope her vision and her voice shine through in Dear Viv and that it inspires everyone who watches it.
'Although producing it was bittersweet, we are so grateful to friends and family for trusting us to tell The Vivienne's story. Above all, we hope Viv loves the film as much as we loved her.'
Nasfim Haque, head of content for BBC Three: 'Dear Viv is a fitting tribute to The Vivienne who truly was a trailblazer in the world of drag. She showcased her artistry and talent brilliantly and paved the way for many to follow in her footsteps.'
The hour-long feature film will be available to watch on BBC Three and iPlayer on August 28.

Celeb SAS star Lucy Spraggan reveals exact moment she knew her vulva ‘ripped'

Lucy Spraggan has revealed the horrific details of a gruesome injury she sustained while on Celebrity SAS. Last week, Lucy revealed that she ripped her labia while appearing on the current series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The 34-year-old's wound was caused by a harness during a stunt and due to the level of bleeding and intensity of the show, she recalled her 'dignity had gone' when the doctor came over to inspect her. Shetold The Sun: 'I ripped my labia – it was bad.' 'That's not a common injury. Actually, genuinely, that's never been the same, so much so I'm having some surgery soon to correct it,' she said, adding that she suspected the harness was 'too tight'. In a new interview with LadBible, she explained that she was bungee jumping off a viaduct, and the incident happened after she was in free fall for five seconds and came to a halt. 'You hit that sort of lowest point, obviously there's quite a lot of like 'yank' and I knew that my harness was, in a bit of an odd position, but you've got so much adrenaline when stuff like that's happening, you can't really be like, 'Oh, can I just move this?'' She added that she knew immediately something was wrong: 'I knew straight away that, like, that was a sincere amount of pain and it was f***ing sincere pain. 'In midair, I was trying to, like, pull on the rope, so like to pull up to relieve some of the tension, in the harness.' She said that once the task was over, she took herself to some bushes to check out the extent of the injury. 'I looked and there was just blood and I was like 'oh s**t'. The doctor, she was behind me, and she came up to me and was like 'Lucy, are you okay?' 'I turned around, and I sort of like, had my hands and she was like 'Oh my God. I thought it was your leg'.' Lucy also emphasised that she found it shocking how much people cared about her injury, particularly given that men frequently complain about their testicles. 'I just think that it's kind of crazy that men are always like, 'Oh, my balls, my balls, my balls,' the second that a woman is like, I've got a vulva [it's a big news story].' Sadly for poor Lucy, this vulva tear wasn't the only injury the star suffered during filming for the series; she also almost knocked a tooth out, fainted and landed face-first in the sea after attempting to jump from a helicopter into a boat. More Trending This left her with a black eye for her wedding day in June 2024 and forced her to have filler from under her eye dissolved after she 'hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face'. This year's series was shot in Wales, the home of the first phase of SAS selection in real life. Remaining participants being guided through gruelling challenges by the elite team of ex-Special Forces soldiers, Chief Instructor Billy Billingham and his team of Directing Staff (DS) – Foxy (Jason Fox), Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver – include Traitors winner Harry Clark, Rebecca Loos, Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon-Boulash, former Love Islander Adam Collard and former footballer Troy Deeney. Fierce GMB row breaks out as Richard Madeley makes sudden admission

Richard Madeley explained why he never went to uni he interrupted a row on Thursday's Good Morning Britain Richard Madeley revealed why he never went to uni during a tense debate on Thursday's Good Morning Britain. ‌ The journalist, 69, has made a successful career out of his reporting and television hosting over the course of his life, but opted not to take on higher education when eh left school. ‌ On A-Level results day, he and Charlotte Hawkins were in the hosting seats of the ITV programme and were joined by former politician Kwasi Kwarteng and Ava Santina-Evans for a chat about the life circumstances that may stop an individual from going on to university as they come to the end of their school years. ‌ Ava said: "Yeah, are you gonna do better. I had an English teacher who pushed me to go, I wasn't going to go. I was the first person in my family to go. It crossed my mind but I hadn't really thought seriously about that teacher, my life would be different." But Kwarteng brought about the notion that, these days, jobs aren't always readily available to graduates as he noted: "The underlying assumption is that if you go to university then you're gonna have a better life, and that isn't necessarily the case. A lot of people are going to university and finding that there aren't the jobs for them at the level as they expect, to me it's obvious that isn't the best way for everybody." Ava accused him of looking at the whole thing from a 'fiscal perspective', he tried to deny it and she began to insist that was just what he said before arguing that 'taking three years out to have a bit of a laugh' should be the way forward. Richard waded into the tense moment, where he explained that had he gone to university, it could have actually held him back as a journalist. He said: "Back in the 70s, I was indentured a junior cub reporter at 16 and when I was 19 when I qualified as a journalist. I'd have still been in my second year had I gone to university." ‌ The former I'm A Celebrity star is famously married to his former This Morning co-host Judy Finnigan, and they have daughter Chloe together, who has become a television star in her own right having competed on Dancing On Ice and held other ventures within the media. But Richard revealed that she too did not think that university was right for her. He added: "My own daughter left university after six months, it just wasn't for her, she came back from Leeds and she's made a great success of her life." Richard has previously admitted that he was going to do English at university, but insisted that he has no regrets in going straight out to get a job. Last year on GMB, he said he was 'not sorry' about his decisions. ‌ He added: "English. I was gonna do English. If I hadn't joined the local paper I was going to read English at uni and then get some sort of graduate placement at a newspaper. But I just jumped the queue by six years. I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry I didn't go." At the time, fans on social media chimed in to air their own opinions, with one writing: 'This morning's revelation on GMB is that Richard Madeley and Trisha Goddard didn't go to university apparently!' Someone else chimed in: 'Degrees for the large part, are pointless. I would recommend going straight into work and study part time. 'The current system is largely there to support people who teach and those that lend money. It's labelled as not debt BUT it has a tangible impact on borrowing power.' GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Phillip Schofield's boozy date with younger man could be 'final straw' for wife Stephanie

Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has been supported by his wife Stephanie Lowe since coming out as gay and following his affair which resulted in him being sacked from ITV Earlier this week, former This Morning host Phillip Schofield was spotted with his arm around a male companion whilst leaving a bar. ‌ The presenter, 63, was seen leaning on the shoulder of his pal, revealed to be nurse Joshua Luke Sharman, after the pair enjoyed drinks together in central London. ‌ Phillip resigned from ITV back in 2023 after admitting an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a This Morning colleague. The ex presenter was seen leaving London's first LGBTQ + dedicated cinema Arzner Bar & Cafe in Bermondsey at 7pm on Saturday. It comes after MasterChef's Gregg Wallace 'ruins' his chance of redemption after 'slipping at first hurdle '. ‌ Nurse Joshua was similarly dressed for the warmer weather, in a short-sleeved black shirt, a pair of beige shorts and dark footwear. The pair were seen with their arms around each other as they looked to stumble on their way out. Phillip had his arm around Joshua's waist, as his companion wrapped an arm around the TV star's shoulder. Phillip, who came out as gay in February 2020, has retreated from the spotlight since resigning from ITV in 2023. He apologised at the time for having previously lied about his relations with a member of the This Morning team while married. In his statement announcing his resignation, former Dancing on Ice host Phillip also stated that the "consensual on-off relationship" was "now over". Ever since, Phillip has kept a very low profile, despite making a brief comeback on Channel 5's Cast Away last year. ‌ The three-part series saw him speak about his life whilst left on a remote island for ten days, as well as featuring his family in scenes filmed at home. The presenter, who announced five years ago that he was gay, has two children with Stephanie Lowe, 60, whom he is still married to after the pair tied the knot in 1993. The former couple are parents to daughters Molly Schofield, 32, and Ruby Schofield, 29, together. ‌ However, from the pictures of his latest boozy outing, it appears that Phillip is now very much single and enjoying his bachelor lifestyle. Now, experts are predicting that Phillip and Stephanie may get divorced in the near future. But could this be the final straw for Stephanie? When the news of Phillip's sexuality broke, Stephanie insisted that she still loved her husband as she vowed to stand by him. At the time, she told The Sun: "I love Phillip, as much today as I ever have, and always will. ‌ "We've been awestruck by the strength and love of our precious girls, even as they've been trying to make sense of it all for themselves. Our family have also been so supportive and will help us going forward. "Although this is difficult for us all, I support Phillip in taking this brave step. I will still be there, holding his hand. Everyone should be proud to live their own truth." ‌ At the time, a source told Mail Online that Stephanie and Phillip were going to stay married and stick things through for the sake of their daughters. "After so long together, Steph and Phil are co-dependent. They would rather be a united front and stay together," they said, adding that if they broke up it would "create even more drama" for them and their daughters. ‌ Another friend said at the time: "They still love each other. It's that simple". Stephanie and her daughter's Molly and Ruby also stuck by Phillip when he was sacked from This Morning after his affair with a much younger member of male staff came to light. ‌ Following the fallout, Phillip's eldest daughter Molly said that the scandal and the trauma that came along with it somehow made their family bond stronger. She said: "We've seen him at his lowest times, but I've been so proud of him, and as a daughter to see the love that people had for him that when it's taken away it's just heartbreaking." However, reports are now suggesting that Phillip's bachelor lifestyle and boozy dates could be the final straw in his co-dependency with Stephanie as 'divorce' could well be on the cards.
