College Student's Body Found After He Went Missing Following a Car Crash
On June 7, the Prince William County Police Department was notified that Kyle Coleman, 19, was missing
A search was conducted after authorities linked together the car crash and the disappearance of Coleman, whose body was later found in a retention pond on June 10Virginia authorities said the body of a college student who went missing following a car crash has been found, and investigators are now looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) and the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) stated that the body of Kyle Coleman, 19, was found in a retention pond in Fairfax County on Tuesday, June 10.
According to the FCPD, officers and emergency crews responded to a 911 activation call from an iPhone at Galleria Drive and Tysons Boulevard on the evening of Friday, June 6. Upon their arrival, they found "an unoccupied 2019 blue Toyota Yaris in the tree line near the roadway."
Authorities said that, according to an investigation, the Yaris was heading westbound on Galleria Drive, crossed into the eastbound lanes, exited the roadway onto the grass and hit a tree. Witnesses at the scene reported that a person was seen fleeing from the vehicle and possibly left the scene in another vehicle soon after the crash.
'Officers searched the vehicle and the surrounding area and did not locate any occupants involved in the crash or any evidence of foul play,' said the FCPD. 'The Fire and Rescue Department utilized thermal imaging technology in the area for any involved persons, which yielded no results.'
Then on Saturday afternoon, the PWCPD received a missing person's report for Kyle Coleman. The following day, on June 8, the PWCPD elevated the case to critically endangered missing after the department received video footage of Coleman prior to the crash.
On Monday, after the PWCPD shared the missing persons bulletin, FCPD detectives linked the crash to Coleman, authorities said, with both police departments working together in the case. That same day, a search was conducted that went into Tuesday.
'While conducting this search, our Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was able to eventually locate Coleman deceased, submerged in a nearby retention pond surrounded by thick brush,' the FCPD said, per the release. 'Through the review of subsequent surveillance footage depicting Coleman leaving the crash scene, detectives were able to confirm that no one else was involved in the crash.'

Sha'Carri Richardson surveillance video captures Olympian's physical moments with boyfriend before arrest
Surveillance video of what led to Sha'Carri Richardson's arrest has been released. In the video from the Seattle-Tacoma Airport on July 27, originally obtained by TMZ Sports, Richardson is seen approaching her boyfriend, Christian Coleman, from out of the frame and appears to grab his backpack from behind. Richardson appeared to grill Coleman and nudged him before shoving him into a wall, nudging him more later on. The two appeared to exchange words while walking toward security, with Richardson still nudging him and appearing to reach for his face. An officer at the airport was notified by a Transportation Security Administration supervisor of a disturbance between Richardson and Coleman, according to the police report, via The Associated Press. Coleman declined to be a victim in the case, a police report said, and he made it very clear that he wants to move on from the "sucky situation." In fact, Coleman believed the arrest was too far. "I don't feel like she should have been arrested. I mean people have discussions and emotions and stuff like that. She has things that she needs to work on for herself, of course. So do I, so do you, so does everybody. But I'm the type of guy who's in the business of extending grace, and mercy and love," Coleman told reporters this weekend. "I look at situations like this, take a step back, analyze it self-mentally, and then just try to see what you can do to be your best self… She's a human being, and a great person. We've been good teammates all year… She has a lot of things going on, a lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can't understand, but nobody can. She's one of one. And I'm one of one too." The incident occurred just days before the United States Track and Field Championships. Richardson missed qualifying for the 200-meter final by one-hundredth of a second. She has a bye in the 100-meter after winning the world title in that event two years ago. Both Coleman and Richardson won gold at the world championships in 2023 for the 4x100 meter. Coleman also won the event in 2019 as well as the 100-meter. Richardson also won the 100 at the 2023 world championships in Budapest, Hungary, and finished with the silver medal in the event at the Paris Games last summer. She also helped take the 4x100 relay to an Olympic gold. This wasn't Richardson's first controversy at an airport. The track star was booted off a plane in January 2023 after a dispute with a flight attendant who she said spoke to her in a disrespectful manner.

Lawsuit accuses Apple of stealing trade secrets to create Apple Pay
Apple has been sued by a Texas company that accused the iPhone maker of stealing its technology to create its lucrative mobile wallet Apple Pay. In a complaint made public on Thursday, Fintiv said Apple Pay's key features were based on technology developed by CorFire, which Fintiv bought in 2014, and now used in hundreds of millions of iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and MacBooks. Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Fintiv, based in Austin, Texas, said Apple held multiple meetings in 2011 and 2012 and entered nondisclosure agreements with CorFire aimed at licensing its mobile wallet technology, to capitalize on fast-growing demand for contactless payments. Instead, and with the help of CorFire employees it lured away, Apple used the technology and trade secrets to launch Apple Pay in the United States and dozens of other countries, beginning in 2014, the complaint said. Fintiv also said Apple has led an informal racketeering enterprise by using Apple Pay to generate fees for credit card issuers such as Bank of America, Capital One, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, and the payment networks American Express, Mastercard and Visa. 'This is a case of corporate theft and racketeering of monumental proportions,' enabling Cupertino, California-based Apple to generate billions of dollars of revenue without paying Fintiv 'a single penny,' the complaint said. In a statement, Fintiv's lawyer Marc Kasowitz called Apple's conduct 'one of the most egregious examples of corporate malfeasance' he has seen in 45 years of law practice. The lawsuit in Atlanta federal court seeks compensatory and punitive damages for violations of federal and Georgia trade secrets and anti-racketeering laws, including RICO. Apple is the only defendant. CorFire was based in Alpharetta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb. On August 4, a federal judge in Austin dismissed Fintiv's related patent infringement lawsuit against Apple, four days after rejecting some of Fintiv's claims, court records show. Fintiv agreed to the dismissal, and plans to 'appeal on the existing record,' the records show.
