Sonali Bendre recently left netizens confused when she addressed her link-up rumours with Raj Thackeray. After a video of the actress opening up about her alleged relationship with the politician surfaced online, several social media users reacted to it and wondered, 'Kehna kya chahte ho (What do you want to say)?"
While one of the social media users argued that Sonali is only confusing everyone with her cryptic response, others joked that it was easier to clear competitive exams than understand her answer. 'This video of Sonali Bendre reminds me of those SSC LDC-style clerical exam questions on family or blood relations—like, 'If this person's brother is someone's fufa and his mausi is another person's daadi, then how are they all related?'" one of the users wrote.

What Did Sonali Bendre Say About Raj Thackeray?
Recently, Sonali Bendre denied rumours linking her to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and told ANI, 'I don't know. I mean, a lot of people… I think it's just not in very good taste when people talk about it like that. First of all, I mean, there are families involved and people involved in all of that."
The 90s diva explained that the association between the two families goes back decades and added, 'Other than the fact that my brother-in-law and my sister… my brother-in-law who's a cricketer and hence used to play cricket with Raj's cousin… Sister's husband and they always played together. Secondly, my sister's mother-in-law was the head of the department that taught us English literature in the (Ramnarain) Ruia College, which I'm from."
The actress further revealed a personal family connection, saying, '…so they all knew each other. For me, the connection was that Sharmila, Raj's wife, her mother, and my Maasi were best friends. Her mother has held me for 10 days because you know how, oh, her, my mother's younger sister, Maasi. So when she delivered Raj, they all came laughing. Oh, her elder sister's baby. Let's go and see the baby. They've come to the hospital and seen me."

Not dope test, carry out ED's income test on Punjab politicians to unravel money trail with drug sellers, says BJP state chief Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh: Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar on Tuesday said to catch drug-sellers, there should be an "income test" of Punjab politicians, starting from party presidents as he challenged chief minister Bhagwant Mann and finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema to send a request to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate the money trail of politicians. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While replying to a question at a press conference about the political slugfest between Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Cheema over conducting dope tests on politicians, Jakhar said first it was important get an income test of political leaders done by the ED. "I challenge Mann and Cheema to send a request to ED to investigate the money trail of political leaders, beginning with party presidents, from the date they entered politics," Jakhar said. He emphasised that following the money trail would help catch the sellers of drugs and not merely drug users, who he said were being put in jails. "Sunil Jakhar is saying this because Sunil Jakhar did not take money from drug sellers as an election fund," said the Punjab BJP chief. He added investigations should focus on leaders' finances over the past five-10 years. "All should be probed from the day they entered politics. Someone is buying property in the name of their wife, another in the name of their son. Someone is buying property in Goa. Previously, they did not even have a place to stay," Jakhar said. Without naming anyone, he mentioned that while others had expensive cars, he travelled in a Toyota Innova. Referring to former chief minister and BJP leader Capt Amarinder Singh's property near Chandigarh and suggesting that it was moderate in scale, Jakhar said while Amarinder's farmhouse was on less than four acres of land, others had properties spread over 9-10 acres in the same area with high concrete walls. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Jakhar questioned Punjab's AAP-led govt on its war against drugs, saying the deadline given by the govt ended on May 31, and it was ten days past the deadline. "Has this war ended?" he said. Alliance talk: 'SAD must stand on its feet' Responding to a question regarding his recent call for the unity of Akali Dal factions and any likely alliance with SAD again in the 2027 Punjab elections, Jakhar said he made the remarks in an individual capacity as a Punjabi to caution the Akali Dal to preserve its "golden legacy" before someone else occupies it. He said as Punjab BJP chief, his stance was clear that re-stitching an alliance with SAD could only be a possibility if SAD was "on its feet". "There is a saying in English, what do you have to offer? The dialogue on any alliance will be only on the principle of what you bring to the table," he added. Hails PM on 11 years in power Jakhar, while addressing a press conference to list the 11-year achievements of the BJP-led govt at the Centre under Prime Minister Modi, said, "India has become the 4th largest economy in the world." Lauding the 6.5% growth rate of the country and pointing out that India surpassed Japan to emerge as the fourth largest economy, Jakhar said, "This is no coincidence but absolute commitment to work on policies, principles, and priorities to ensure that decisions which usher in change for the country were taken in the last 11 years. Chennai Book Park sees a steady stream of crowd on Day 1

Status: cleared Chennai: Those entering the Central Metro station now have one-stop access to books from prominent publishers, spanning from Higginbothams to Katha, at the Chennai Book Park, opened by Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday. An initiative of the School Education Department to kindle a reading habit among the public, the book park saw a steady stream of visitors on the first day. Nestled between a pharmacy and an eatery, en route to the ticket counter, one would rarely miss the park. Decked up with flowers and carpets, over 4,300 titles from over 13 publishers were on display. Among these, 84 titles were released on Tuesday. Most of the stalls belonged to the Tamil Nadu Text Book and Educational Services Corporation (TNTESC), which manages the functioning of the park. Nakkheeran, Shanti, and Coral were among the prominent publishers who set up stalls. Schoolbooks, guides, and books for competitive exams, mostly Tamil, were available. The cost of books ranged from ₹50 to ₹3,500. The CMRL is yet to fix signage for the park at entries and exits. TNTESC superintendent G Balaji said the park will be open from 9 am to 9 pm. "The schedule on weekend timings will be finalised in a couple of days. At least three staff, including security personnel, will man the premises," he said. Chezhian Kumarasamy, Executive Director of an advertising firm, said it was good to see people at a book park in a digital age where mobile phones call the shots. "I wish more such parks would be opened in places such as airports and MRTS stations," he said. Some, like law student L Lakshmi, who walked in thinking there would be a lot of autobiographies and non-fiction Tamil books, said she was surprised to find English books on self-help. Publication managers, however, aren't too optimistic about sales. "I don't know how many people will walk in. They are in a hurry to board trains," said Sivakumar, manager of one of the publications. By 8:50 pm, the facility registered a sale of about ₹35,000. The stalls have tied up with the TNTESC on a revenue-sharing model, said Katha Books CEO Ravin Carr. "Between 25% and 40% of the sale cost (depending on the size of the stalls) will be shared with the govt," he said. At the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 110 library buildings built across all districts at a cost of ₹29.80 crore and 70 special libraries at bus stands, hospitals, and district collectorates. HC lets three 2016 teachers take a shot at upper primary

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday permitted three assistant teachers of class 9 and 10 at state schools, who lost their jobs after the Supreme Court scrapped the 2016 SSC panel, to appear for the counselling for upper-primary teachers' posts. The three had cleared the written tests for upper primary teachers' posts. The HC said the teachers would be allowed at the counselling on June 11 provided they were not 'tainted' 2016 candidates and were on the upper primary merit list. The West Bengal Central School Service Commission was asked to allow them after verifying their credentials and eligibility. Sriparna Chakraborty, Nasrin Siddique and Mahuya Ghosh were selected for both the state level selection test 2016 for classes 9 and 10 as well as SLST 2016 for upper primary. But they opted for secondary classes as it was a better opportunity... in terms of salaries and other emoluments. SSC had argued against the assistant teachers' plea, saying they did not turn up in the previous round of counselling despite being permitted. The SSC counsel said the commission had decided that "absentee candidates would not be permitted to participate in the ensuing counselling process" on June 11. He argued that if those three were permitted this counselling, a candidate already chosen for counselling would be ousted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Launch Offer – SPR Gurgaon Homes Signature Global Book Now Undo The three moved the single bench of Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, seeking to appear for the counselling on June 11. Justice Bhattacharyya considered that these teachers participated in both upper primary and secondary tests. They were selected in both but could not participate in the previous round of counselling at that time because they were working as assistant teachers for classes 9 and 10. Another assistant teacher, Srabani Paul, who also participated in SLST 2016 for upper primary and was recommended for an assistant teacher's post at Mathurapur Balika Vidyalaya (HS), but could not join as she was working as a secondary teacher, also moved Justice Bhattacharyya's bench. She, too, had lost her job after the SC decision and wanted to get posted at the school she was earlier selected for. She made a representation on April 8. The judge asked for her affidavits and said filling up the position would depend on the result of the case.
