Centre: No Samagra Shiksha funds for TN for FY 2024-25
Answering a query raised by DMK MP Ganapathy Rajkumar on withholding funds under the scheme for some states, Union minister of state Jayant Chaudhary on Monday said the funds under Samagra Shiksha are released based on fulfilment of guidelines prescribed by Union ministry of finance.
Union govt withheld its share of Samagra Shiksha funds to the tune of 2,151crore for 2024-25 for the state, citing its opposition to following the three-language formula in PM SHRI schools.
The reply also showed that Kerala and West Bengal also did not receive any funds under the scheme from Union govt for the 2024-25 financial year.

Educationists have condemned this, saying Union govt has committed injustice towards the children of these three states. "It is a breach of the constitutional obligation of the federal govt to the constituent states. It is a total violation of the Right to Education Act that obligates govts to ensure children get their education up to the age of 14," senior educationist V Vasanthi Devi said.

With events across state, SP renewsresolve to protect quota, Constitution
Lucknow: To renew its "resolve to protect the reservation system enshrined in Indian Constitution", the Samajwadi Party functionaries on Saturday assembled in large numbers across the state to observe July 26 as the Samvidhan Mansthambh Divas. Party workers attended special events organised to outline the ways and means that the BJP government has devised to subvert the right to reservation and constitutional frameworks to undermine the rights of the oppressed and exploited sections of the society. The party leaders across the state cited outsourcing of government jobs as a major onslaught on right to reservation. They explained in detail to people how the BJP has devised the "Not Found Suitable" option to deny jobs to PDA community members in various universities, colleges and institutes. They also cited how the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for Bihar elections was another covert attempt of the BJP to change the Constitutional practices in use since Independence. Party's national president Akhilesh Yadav mooted the idea of observing July 26 as the Samvidhan Mansthambh Divas and had called upon the party functionaries to hold events to inform the masses how their right to reservation was being curtailed by the present BJP government by impeding constitutional provisions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Remember Him? Take A Deep Breath Before You See Him Now The Noodle Box Undo On Saturday, he congratulated the party leaders for successfully holding the event at such a large scale. He said Samvidhan Mansthambh Divas encapsulates the spirit of PDA Prakashsthamb which is about lighting up the path for the Pichhde (backward classes) Dalits and Alpsankhyaks (minorities) to reclaims their rights as enshrined in the Constitution and which they were being deprived of by the BJP in a systematic manner. SP MP from Azamgarh Dharmendra Yadav, who was the chief guest of the Samvidhan Mansthambh Divas event held in Jaunpur, called upon the PDA community to come forward to help save the Constitution and protect reservation. In Mainpuri, SP MLA from Karhal Tej Pratap Yadav chaired the event and urged the "oppressed sections of the society" to rise and voice their concerns by dislodging the BJP from the government. Senior party functionary Rajpal Kashyap, who chaired one of the most largely attended event of the day held in Shahjahanpur, underlined the evolution of PDA since the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He said the PDA needs to stay together in the days to come and take on the BJP and its attempt to deprive the neglected lot its due. In Lucknow, former MLC Dr Madhu Gupta, MLA Arman Khan and district president Faqir Siddiqui addressed the gathering and underlined the need to voice concerns against BJP's attempts to subvert constitutional traditions.

Ministers getting ‘picture perfect'for their show of strength in UP
Lucknow: Senior ministers from the state these days have developed a penchant for showing their strength through pictures and videos of events and meetings. Most of these visuals are leaked as they are not sent through official channels. Whether the event is political or apolitical, the message of the show of strength is loud and clear. The latest such show of strength came from the minister of jail, Dara Singh Chauhan. The occasion was his birthday celebration at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan on Friday. The event, named 'Sankalp Diwas', was largely attended by members of Dara Singh's caste members – Nonia Chauhans. However, the chief guests for the event were the two deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with BJP UP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary. It was purely the choice of Chauhan as to who would attend the event, but there were discussions around who all were not invited. The trio came together at the event and urged those present to "repeat 2017 results in 2027 Assembly polls". This line that caught the attention of political observers was also part of the caption of the photographs shared after the meeting of Keshav Maurya with Union home minister Amit Shah on July 8. Maurya's meeting with Shah was followed by his meeting with defence minister Rajnath Singh on July 9 and UP governor Anandiben Patel on July 11. After Maurya, pictures of Brajesh Pathak meeting Shah on July 17 also went viral. While Dara Singh Chauhan's event was a show of strength with politics of symbolism at its core, at least three different videos involving energy minister AK Sharma are being seen as his desperate bid not only to put his house (energy and urban development departments) in order but also send a message to officials and people in political circles of his proximity to New Delhi. Visibly fed up with people confronting him about the poor situation in the power department during his visits to various places, Sharma, in a leaked video, is seen going harsh on officials for being paper tigers rather than looking at the reality at ground level. In another video, he is seen warning officials. "While Lord Ram prayed for three days, I explained it for three years, but now, that time is over. If the officers think that the minister does not have the power to transfer or suspend, they should understand that if I use sudarshan chakra like Lord Krishna did, no one — from Delhi to Rashtrapati Bhavan — will be able to save you," Sharma warned the officials. A few days back, even former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh made a visit to 5 Kalidas Marg, the official residence of CM Yogi Adityanath. His meeting with the CM was held after a gap of 31 months, he claimed. The next day, Keshav Maurya hosted Brij Bhushan's son Prateek Bhushan at his official 7 Kalidas Marg residence. More than the pictures and videos, their timing has intrigued political pundits. Senior journalist Ratan Mani Lal said that such posturing has begun as it's well-known that there would be changes in the organisation and the ministries, both in the Centre and the state. "Since these leaders have smelled the forthcoming changes, they are leaving no stone unturned to present their case before the senior leaders and the community they represent," he said.

Lucknow: To ensure accessible justice, the state govt is launching mobile courts to offer legal aid to people with disabilities (Divyangjans) across the region. So far, these courts have been set up in nine districts, addressing and resolving 677 grievances. The State Commissioner's office has received a total of 594 complaints, comprising 503 complaints in 2024-25 and 91 complaints so far in 2025-26. Of these, 58 complaints have been resolved, while 33 are currently being processed. These courts were held in Meerut, Sultanpur, Amethi, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Shravasti, Gonda, Bahraich and Balrampur. "During these sessions, authorities listen to grievances directly in the local areas and issue immediate instructions to concerned departments for resolution. The govt has made appointments to these courts under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. These include a state commissioner for people with disabilities. All district magistrates have been designated as additional commissioners, while district empowerment officers for the disabled serve as assistant commissioners. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local weather search Click Here According to data from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities up to May 2025, a total of 2,699 complaints were received through the CM Helpline, online portals, PGI portal, and directly by the CM, out of which 2,660 were resolved.
