Shannon Sharpe may already be banned from ESPN, as per insider
Shannon Sharpe may never return to ESPN following a string of misconduct allegations and legal battles, according to an insider who claims the former NFL star is 'possibly already banned' from the network.
Shannon Sharpe's future in sports broadcasting is under serious threat as multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and a $50 million lawsuit bring his career into question.
Sharpe, 56, is reportedly no longer welcome at ESPN, according to unnamed network sources, and may already be banned following a lawsuit filed in Clark County, Nevada, on Easter Sunday. The former NFL tight end has already denied all allegations, calling the lawsuit a "shakedown."
The lawsuit centres on a woman identified as 'Jane Doe,' who claims she and Sharpe had a consensual relationship that later became abusive. She alleges that Sharpe assaulted her twice, the second time in 2025 during a visit to deliver Christmas and birthday gifts.
Further damaging to Sharpe's public image are leaked chat messages and a phone call recording—allegedly involving Sharpe—where threats were reportedly made against the accuser.
The lawsuit also references an Instagram livestream incident involving Sharpe and another woman, which the plaintiff says caused her additional emotional distress.
The accuser was later identified as an OnlyFans model named Gabriella Zuniga. The lawsuit is being handled by attorney Tony Buzbee, known for previously representing clients against high-profile figures, including rapper Jay-Z.
Sharpe's past also includes a 2010 domestic violence allegation which led to a temporary restraining order, though no criminal charges were filed.
The fallout from the latest claims has significantly damaged Sharpe's standing in the media industry, with some insiders suggesting his exit from ESPN is imminent, if not already in effect.
Sharpe joined ESPN's First Take in 2023 after leaving FS1's Undisputed, where he was known for his animated debates with Skip Bayless. He also hosts the Club Shay Shay podcast, which has featured cultural figures such as Steve Harvey and Katt Williams.
Though Sharpe gained popularity for his dynamic personality and candid commentary, the mounting legal troubles and backlash may force an abrupt end to his broadcasting career.
