What is Perplexity's Comet?
Perplexity describes Comet as its 'browser for agentic search,' signalling its shift toward integrating AI-driven tools that can help users complete complex workflows with minimal manual effort. Agentic AI refers to intelligent software agents capable of handling multi-step, repetitive tasks autonomously by understanding user intent and context.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Perplexity Chief Executive Officer Aravind Srinivas said, 'Comet transforms entire Browse sessions into single, seamless interactions, collapsing complex workflows into fluid conversations.' Comet relies on Perplexity as the primary search engine, offering AI-generated responses sourced from across the web.

According to Perplexity, Comet reimagines web Browse by shifting from passive content consumption to active, intelligent engagement. Instead of managing multiple tabs and apps, users interact with a unified interface that understands their needs. The assistant can manage full sessions, eliminate distractions, and streamline workflows — whether users are comparing products, researching topics, or solving complex problems.
The browser also features a sidebar assistant that can summarise pages, answer queries, and take actions such as booking hotels, sending emails, or shopping online. A built-in assistant is also capable of responding to questions related to the content currently visible on the user's screen.
As of now, Comet is available exclusively to Perplexity Max subscribers and a limited group of users via invite on a waitlist. The browser is currently accessible on both Mac and Windows platforms.

At the time, he posted: 'Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates and rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA.' Construction for the LA diner reportedly began in late 2023. The Tesla Diner reportedly offers classic comfort food such as burgers, hot dogs, wings, and hand-spun milkshakes—served in boxes designed to look like the Cybertruck, the company's all-electric pickup. The location also includes a full drive-in movie experience with 45-foot outdoor screens. Visitors can listen to the movie audio through their Tesla car's built-in sound system. Customers driving Tesla vehicles can order food directly through their in-car screens while their cars are being charged. The new diner features 80 Superchargers, allowing EV users to charge their cars while enjoying food and entertainment . Tesla robot Optimus spotted serving popcorn at Diner Inside the diner, Tesla's humanoid robot Optimus was seen serving popcorn, as shared in a video by content creator Jacklyn Dallas. Dallas, who reports regularly on technology updates, called the place a 'paradise for tech lovers.' The two-storey building includes a rooftop seating area and aims to provide a blend of food, entertainment, and convenience in a single stop.

Executive assistants can also lose their jobs Srinivas further said that another job that can soon be replaced by AI is that of executive assistants as AI can be trained to manage important administrative tasks like calendar scheduling, email responses, meeting coordination and making notes, etc. He envisions a near future where AI proactively handles these duties— solving scheduling conflicts, providing meeting briefs, and tracking communications— without needing to be micromanaged. Elon Musk's X calls French probe ‘a politically-motivated criminal investigation'; says won't cooperate
Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) said it will not cooperate with a French probe allegedly accusing it of data tampering. According to news agency Reuters, the company accused French prosecutors of launching a "politically-motivated criminal investigation" which, it claims, threatens its users' free speech. Denying all allegations against it, X said that it would not cooperate with the probe. Sharing a post via its Global Government Affairs account, X said 'Based on what we know so far, X believes that this investigation is distorting French law in order to serve a political agenda and, ultimately, restrict free speech'. "For these reasons, X has not acceded to the French authorities' demands, as we have a legal right to do," the post added. French lawmakers accuse X of "manipulating its algorithm' French prosecutors opened a preliminary probe into the social media platform earlier this month. It was based on suspected algorithmic bias and fraudulent data extraction, reports Reuters. A second 'expert,' Maziyar Panahi, has previously participated in research projects with David Chavalarias that demonstrate open hostility towards X. The involvement of these individuals raises serious concerns about the impartiality, fairness, and political motivations of the investigation, to put it charitably. A predetermined outcome is not a fair one. What's more, French authorities have classified X as an 'organized gang' for the purpose of the investigation. This characterization, which is usually reserved for drug cartels or mafia groups, enables the French police to deploy extensive investigative powers under French law, including wiretapping the personal devices of X employees. X remains in the dark as to the specific allegations made against the platform. However, based on what we know so far, X believes that this investigation is distorting French law in order to serve a political agenda and, ultimately, restrict free speech. For these reasons, X has not acceded to the French authorities' demands, as we have a legal right to do. This is not a decision that X takes lightly.
