FULL-TIME: St.Patrick's Athletic 1 - Besiktas 4
Well, the two-legged tie might be over as a contest, but St.Pat's can take great pride in winning the second-half and keeping the 16-time Turkish champions scoreless in the process.
Besiktas flexted their muscles in the first-half with Portuguese international Joao Mario on fire, while Tammy Abraham netted a wonderful hattrick. He takes in the adulation of the travelling fans with the match ball tucked under his arm.
The Inchicore club hand their fair share of strong performers in goal-scorer Simon Power and the industrious Kian Leavy in midfield. Stephen Kenny's side will travel to Turkiye next Thursday where they will give Besiktas another rattle in the 42,000-seater Tupras Stadyumu.

Over to Tallaght and Stephen Kenny's men are holding their own late in this second-half with just 3 minutes of normal time remaining. Besiktas substitute Kartal Yilmaz has just fired wide, with Simon Power off target at the other end.
Mason Melia is replaced by Brandon Kavanagh.

FULL-TIME: Ballkani 1 - Shamrock Rovers 0
Its defeat for Shamrock Rovers in the first-leg of this Conference League third qualifying round. In truth, Ballkani probably deserved it as they created a plentiful supply of chances. Crucially, Sunday Adetunji took his chance on 56 minutes in a very composed manner.
However, its only half-time in the context of this two-legged tie. The Hoops will fancy their chances next week at home to the Kosovan side in Tallaght next Thursday.

90+2' SAVE! Agony for Shamrock Rovers as Dylan Watts delivers a wonderful freekick to the back post which is met by the head of Honohan. The wing-back is denied by another fine Adnan Golubovic save.
90' The Hoops couldn't take advantage of that aforementioned set-piece as Danny Grant strayed offside.
There will be a minimum of 4 minutes of additional time played as Geralb Smalji wipes out Josh Honohan on an attacking foray.

St.Patrick's Athletic 1 - Besiktas 4 (76 mins)
CHANCE! That was well worked by St.Pat's as Jason McClelland worked a free short to Chris Forrester. The experienced midfielder cut in on his right and forced Gunok into a fine save.
Kian Leavy has been excellent for the Saints tonight too. He wins another corner for the hosts.
87' Michael Noonan does well to win the ball back and set Danny Grant away on a one-man break. He holds on to win a free from Gentrit Halili who is finally brandished with a yellow card - it only took about 8 fouls. Can the Hoops profit from this set-piece?
82' JUST WIDE! Another chance for the hosts as Adetunji holds up possession expertly for Giovanni. The Brazilian's left-footed effort fizzes past the right post. McGinty probably had his angles covered.
80' CLOSE! That could have resulted in a second goal for Ballkani as Halili's cross beats Lee Grace and falls to Sunday Adetunji. The 27-year-old marksman can't control it and Ed McGinty pounces.
75' Gentrit Halili, Ballkani's centre-half, has easily racked up a good half-dozen fouls now. The Hoops bench erupts after more cynical play from the 23-year-old, but it lands Stephen Bradley in the referee's book.
There's no doubt about it, the Ukrainian arbiter has been rather lenient towards the hosts thus far.

A moment Simon Power will never forget - his wonderful solo goal against Turkish giants Besiktas:

70' Into the final 20 minutes here in Kosovo and the lively Almir Kryeziu draws another fine save out of Ed McGinty. The Hoops shot-stopper did well to hold onto the powerful strike.

St.Patrick's Athletic 1 - Besiktas 4 (55 mins)
SAVE! St.Pat's have come alive in this second-half and their travelling fans from Inchicore have burst into song. Substitute Axel Sjoberg puts in a wonderful cross from the right, but Melia's strike is parried by Mert Gunok. The teenager can't get onto the rebound. That was so close!
64' Stephen Bradley has made a couple of alterations after the hour mark with Conor Malley and Michael Noonan taking over from Darragh Nugent and Rory Gaffney.
Ballkani make an alteration of their own as Walid Hamidi makes way for Bleart Tolaj.

St.Patrick's Athletic 1 - Besiktas 4 (49 mins)
GOAL! What a start for the Saints as Simon Power shows a clean pair of heels to Gabriel Paulista. The former Arsenal and Valencia centre-half is left eating the 27-year-old's dust as he slots it home at the near post despite the advancing frame of Mert Gunok. Not even a VAR review can overturn it. Wonderful stuff!

56' GOAL! Ballkani 1 - Shamrock Rovers 0
The Kosovan club have constructed the breakthrough just before the breakthrough here! Shamrock Rovers fail to deal with Ardit Deliu in midfield. The Albanian feeds it wide to Giovanni who slips a ball into Sunday Adetunji. The Nigerian striker has ice in his veins as he cuts inside Lopes and picks out the bottom-left corner.

O'Brien: Shelbourne will not sit on lead at Tolka Park against Riejka

Shelbourne boss Joey O'Brien has denied any notion his side will sit on their lead over Rijeka going into Tuesday night's Europa League third round qualifying second leg at Tolka Park. The Reds hold a 2-1 advantage from last week and know they must be at their best again to progress to the play-off round and guarantee Conference League football this winter. Shels soaked up limited pressure in the first half of the opening leg and fell behind to a penalty early in the second period. From there they were scintillating going forward and brought the advantage back to Drumcondra, despite Rijeka creating more in the closing minutes. O'Brien knows there will be periods they must dig deep for the conclusion of the tie but is certain it will not be their overall approach. The Reds manager said: "If you look at the game last week, there was very little in it. "I suppose they had a few chances. We had a few chances. They obviously had the majority of possession. "We're coming in here tomorrow with a small advantage but we're here to attack the game. I don't see football about sitting in and hoping for the best. It's about attacking the game in front of you and I think the players that we have want to do that. "For me, as a gameplan of just sitting in hoping for the best, I wasn't like that as a player so I'm not going to do that now as a coach." Speaking in Rijeka after the game, O'Brien opined that the Croatian outfit were still expected to go through despite the deficit. He tempered that stance today in a belief that the Premier Division champions can overcome any side at their treasured home venue. He explained: "If you look at the overall [picture] before a ball had been kicked and where they're at and where we're at, they were favourites and they are [still] favourites. "But again, it is two halves done and two halves to go. We're coming here to our place. "We'd be back ourselves to beat anyone here." One plus for the Reds is they will have a sold out crowd in Tolka Park and with no away fans present as Rijeka are currently serving a supporter suspension on the road from UEFA. Asked if it was an advantage for his team, he said: "I think so. There was a great atmosphere over there last week. We had great fans there as well but at home with the whole place rocking for you, it does give you that little bit more I suppose "It does give you that little more buzz and a little bit more energy sometimes. "Sometimes you may have to suffer out of possession and the pump may come on and then we have to suck it up sort of thing. "To have the fanbase there and being really loud and you know that they are supporting you, it is always that little added bonus. "We have to make the most of that. We have to give the fans something to cheer about and I'm sure at the start there's going to be a real excitement ahead of the game because of what is at stake. "It's about the boys going out and putting their best foot forward and putting on a show. "They have to make sure the crowd is engaged in the game." In team news, the Reds will be without Sean Gannon, Tyreke Wilson and Sean Boyd. O'Brien declared Milan Mbeng fit for the game despite missing out on a place in the squad in the 2-2 draw with Bohemians last week.

'We're here to attack the game': Shels boss not banking on first-leg lead against Rijeka

Joey O'Brien insists his Shelbourne side won't be sitting back to protect their 2-1 first leg lead over Croatian champions Rijeka when the teams meet in Tuesday's second leg. A Europa League playoff place is on the line at sold-out Tolka Park but also the guarantee of group stage participation in the Conference League regardless of how they fare against either Greek side PAOK or Austrian outfit Wolfsberger. Avoiding defeat at home would not only ensure Shels have six league phase games between October and December but also rocket their prize-pot to around the €4m mark, a welcome return for their well-heeled band of investors. Goals by Sam Bone and John Martin last Wednesday completed a memorable comeback victory in Croatia but the wounded visitors will have former Fiorentina attacker Toni Fruk back from suspension. O'Brien, with experience of European nights from his playing days at Bolton Wanderers, West Ham United and Shamrock Rovers, is adamant defensive tactics won't enter their gameplan. "We're coming in with a small advantage but we're here to attack the game,' said the man who filled the vacancy after his boss Damien Duff sensationally quit the league champions in June. 'We don't see football as sitting in and hoping for the best. It's about attacking the game in front of you. "I think the players we have want to do that. So for me to have a gameplan as just sitting in and hoping for the best – that wasn't like that as a player and it's not going to be like that now as a coach." Historical crowd issues mean Rijeka won't have any travelling support at Tolka. 'I think it is an advantage,' noted the Reds gaffer. 'Rijeka had a great atmosphere over there last week but at home, the whole place will be rocking. 'That buzz, that little bit more energy sometimes does help. 'Sometimes we might have to suffer out of possession, needing to suck it up but hopefully the fanbase will be really loud. 'We must make the most of that by giving them something to cheer about. I'm sure at the start there's going to be a real excitement at the game because of what's at stake, but it's about the boys going out and putting their best foot forward and putting on a show, making sure the crowd's engaged in the game.' Should Shels lose out over the tie – which will include extra-time and penalties if needed – they'll still have a shot at reaching the Conference League in a playoff decider against Linfield or Vikingur Gøta. The Faroese side lead 2-1 heading into Thursday's second leg in Belfast.

Joey O'Brien confirms huge loss for Shelbourne ahead of historic Europa League clash against Rijeka

Joey O'Brien also hints at how Shels will line-out in the Europa League clash SEAN IS GONE Joey O'Brien confirms huge loss for Shelbourne ahead of historic Europa League clash against Rijeka JOEY O'Brien has confirmed that Seán Boyd is out of tomorrow's Europa League clash as Shelbourne bid for history. Striker Boyd limped out of last week's 2-1 away leg victory over Rijeka in Croatia with a calf problem and has not trained since then. Advertisement 2 O'Brien's side are just 90 minutes away from securing European league phase football 2 Shelbourne will be without Boyd who scored 10 goals from 12 league starts last season Shels boss O'Brien revealed: 'It's a strange one. He is finding it hard to walk and with the quick turnaround he won't be available. 'He started the game really well last week. But that's the name of the game, that is football. 'John Martin came on and done really well. I keep going back to the strength of the squad. That was an example of it.' Martin grabbed the winner last week, and also came off the bench against Bohemians on Saturday to score and earn Shelbourne a draw. Advertisement And he is now pushing Mipo Odubeko to start tomorrow as Shels look for a result - a draw will do - that would guarantee them a group stage football for the first time in their history. Progress and they go into the Europa League play-off guaranteed of Conference League group stage football, while even a loss would see them go into a Conference play-off. But O'Brien stressed that his side have a lot of work to do to progress. He said: 'Before a ball is kicked, look at where they are at, and where we are at, they are favourites. Advertisement 'But two halves done, two to go. We are coming to our place. We would back ourselves to beat anyone here. 'We're coming in tomorrow with a small advantage but we're here to attack the game, we don't see football about sitting in and hoping for the best, you know. Shocking moment fans clash with police at Brentford's final pre-season friendly with German giants 'It's about attacking the game in front of you. And I think the players that we have, they want to do that. 'So for me to have a game plan, just sitting in and hoping for the best - it wasn't like that as a player, it's not going to be like that now as a coach.'
