McDonald's is set to enhance its menu with the launch of McCrispy Strips and the Creamy Chili Cip across the US in all participating restaurants by 5 May.
This chicken dish represents the brand's first new permanent menu item in the country since 2021.
The McCrispy Strips are made from 100% white meat in a crispy, golden-brown breading flavoured with black pepper.
The new offering will come with a choice of three or four pieces, accompanied by one or two Creamy Chili Dip cups, respectively.
This new dip will be sweet and tangy and is designed to complement the taste of the McCrispy Strips.
McDonald's chief marketing and customer experience officer Alyssa Buetikofer said: "Since stepping into my new role as a leader of the US business this year, I've been excited for fans to get to experience our additional chicken offerings.
"The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait. We took our time, listened to our fans and created a product we knew they would crave."
Customers can also opt to enhance their meal with McDonald's signature sauces, such as Spicy Buffalo, Tangy Barbecue or Creamy Ranch, to create their preferred flavour combinations.
McDonald's senior vice-president and chief supply chain officer Cesar Piña added: "When we introduce a new menu item like McCrispy Strips, we know we have a big promise to fulfil to meet our customers' expectations.
'From the farms we source from to how food is prepared in our restaurants, bringing new products to our fans requires collaboration across suppliers, franchisees, and company staff. We hold ourselves to the highest standard and aim to bring fans nothing less than greatness."

TD Cowen Affirms Hold Rating on McDonald's (MCD) with a $305 Price Target

On June 5, TD Cowen maintained a Hold rating on McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) with a $305 price target. This decision came after insights from experts from the quick service industry, which resulted in forecasts of a 2.8% boost in US same-store sales for Q2 2025. The analysts expect MCD shares to range from $305 to $320, noting the robust dividend record of consistently increasing dividends for 49 years. A cook in a busy kitchen assembling cheeseburgers for orders. Industry professionals are optimistic about the sales environment in the latter half of 2025. The outlook is primarily supported by potentially favorable comparisons and the expected success of the McCrispy Strips, seen as the brand's most notable menu upgrade this year. Despite the promising outlook, TD Cowen analysts were guarded about the mass rollout of CosMc's beverages to McDonald's core brand in 2025. However, they observed the significance of going live with cold brew coffee, which is simple to make and needs minimal customization. According to TD Cowen, McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) shows signs of upcoming growth, but a more reliable sales trajectory is essential to break out of its present trading range. While we acknowledge the potential of MCD as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Popular chicken chain menu brings back fan-favorite value combos

When fast-food chains and quick-service restaurants entered the industry and rose to fame in the 1950s, it was all about who had the best burger. This helped many burger-focused chains like McDonald's and Burger King become the giants they are today. However, trends evolve, and it's undeniable that many consumers now prefer chicken over other options, creating a "chicken craze" among chains. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter This has caused many in the food industry to shift their focus and launch new chicken-based products to dominate the market and boost sales. Major players like McDonald's (MCD) and Taco Bell have begun prioritizing chicken-based products, but following a food trend isn't enough to get people's attention amid a consumer spending slowdown. Brands' (YUM) Taco Bell has become incredibly successful due to its insanely low prices and new chicken products, which are huge selling points for today's consumer. Now, KFC is taking a few tips from this successful brand. KFC first introduced Fill Ups in 2009 with the $5 Fill Up Box, which included various options consisting of fried chicken, fries, a biscuit, and a medium drink. The value combos became popular among consumers due to their incredibly low price, which is almost unheard of nowadays with the rising cost of food. This prompted the chicken chain to make the combos a seasonal, limited-time offering, offering slightly different options plus a dessert. Related: Popular fast-food burger chain to open first store in new market KFC last offered this $5 deal in summer 2024. However, the combos were much smaller, with some options providing no sides or dessert, and none offering a beverage. Inflation is very real, and keeping the same low prices it once offered became difficult for KFC over the years. Nonetheless, growing competition is a challenge that those in the food industry can never ignore. The chicken chain wanted to offer value deals to make consuming at its locations more desirable, allowing it to compete with rival chains that still provide similar offers. KFC is bringing back the popular Fill Ups, this time for $7 each and in partnership with F1: The Movie, which premieres in the U.S. on June 27. Customers can choose from four different $7 Fill Ups: One-Piece Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and a biscuit. The chicken can be Original Recipe or Extra Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and a biscuit. The chicken can be Original Recipe or Extra Tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy, a biscuit, and a choice of dipping Famous Bowl Each combo includes two pie poppers for a sweet finale and a medium beverage to wash it all down. Top Analyst Downgrade McDonald to 'Hold' After McCrispy Backlash

June 6 - McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) introduced its first permanent menu item in over four years with the McCrispy Strips, according to a Friday press release. Early reactions from food critics described the new chicken strips as bland, soggy, and overpriced, likening them to high school chicken strips rather than the crispy tenders offered by rivals such as Chick-fil-A and Popeye's. Meanwhile, some observers noted that McCrispy Strips scored better on value compared to competing offerings, though the appearance and portion size drew criticism. On Wall Street, Loop Capital cut McDonald's stock to Hold from Buy, citing worries that domestic comparable sales may not recover as anticipated. Analyst Alton Stump said franchisees have shared that the strips' lighter breading delivers a purer chicken taste but results in a less appealing and smaller product than those of top competitors. Loop Capital maintained its 2025 earnings estimates but lowered its price target on McDonald's to $315 from $346, equating to about 18 times its projected EV/EBITDA for the year. Traders are watching customer feedback on McCrispy Strips for signs of potential earnings pressure. This article first appeared on GuruFocus.
