Investigation underway after dog dies from possible gunshot in Northern California
(FOX40.COM) — Deputies in Northern California are investigating the circumstances behind a dog that may have been shot to death.
Around 9:17 p.m. on Feb. 26, the Amador County Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident on Meadowmont Drive in Pioneer. The resident reportedly told deputies he returned home and found his dog dead. He believed the dog had been shot by an unknown suspect.

When ACSO arrived at the scene, they found a small dog with a wound consistent with the entry of a pellet or small caliber bullet. The dog was taken by the responding deputies so a necropsy could be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Deputies said they searched and spoke with people in the neighborhood but didn't find leads. One resident told law enforcement they heard a yelp around 6 p.m., but no shot was heard.
The sheriff's office asked local residents to check their home security camera footage for people or vehicles of interest. Anyone with information can call the ACSO Secret Witness Line at 209- 223-4900. A reward may be available for information leading to the arrest and arraignment of those involved.

'This common-sense legislation will ensure that the gun industry is held accountable and that we're doing everything we possibly can to protect our communities from mass shootings.' AB 1127 is supported by organizations like Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, and Voices for Progress. However, other groups such as the National Association for Gun Rights and Gun Owners of California Inc. are in opposition. 'AB 1127 is a blatant attack on your right to own one of the most common self-defense firearms in America,' Gun Owners of California said on social media before the bill passed through the Assembly. 'This bill targets semiautomatic pistols used by millions of law-abiding gun owners—and it's being pushed under the false pretense of 'safety'.' Man arrested for child abuse in Oroville, endangering toddler in roadway
( — A 31-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for child abuse after he was witnessed endangering his child in the roadway and admitted to being under the influence of cocaine, according to the Oroville Police Department. Video Above: Controversial child sex trafficking bill AB379 amended Police said officers responded to reports of a man creating a traffic hazard around 1:30 p.m. on Meyers Street and Greenville Street. Callers said the man, later identified as Oscar Bonilla, was playing with an infant in the roadway, refusing to move for cars, walking in traffic while carrying the child and even dropping the toddler on the pavement. More witnesses said that Bonilla put the child on the street, walked in and out of traffic, and described him to be 'flinging the child around like a rag doll.' It was also reported that the suspect was armed with a knife and made motions as if he were trying to hurt the baby, OPD said. A witness was eventually able to take the toddler away when Bonilla dropped them. OPD said Bonilla was exhibiting erratic behavior when they made contact and admitted to being under the influence of a large quantity of cocaine. Police discovered that the suspect had removed the toddler from their home. Police investigate fatal, solo-vehicle crash in Rocklin According to OPD, the baby was taken to the hospital after they were left with road rash, scrapes and bruises.
