This 1935 Avions Voisin C25 Aérodyne is one of the lots on offer at Gooding & Company's Amelia Island Auctions, being held March 6 and 7.
The cabin is defined by distinctive, abstract-patterned fabric and blue-leather upholstery from Hermès Paris.
The car features a sleeve-valve inline-six engine mated to an electromagnetic gearbox, the latter being offered for the first time with this model.
Four porthole-style windows add light to the interior when the ingenious sliding-roof panel is closed.
After being added to the 400-car collection of Craig McCaw and his brother Bruce, this C25 Aérodyne was returned to what was believed to be the original 1935 color scheme of black and soft yellow with bold orange striping.
The hood ornament, as with the car in general, takes its inspiration from flight.
At the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the car was awarded the coveted Vitesse Elegance Trophy.
This automotive rarity is estimated to fetch between $2 million and $2.5 million.

Browns coach: Myles Garrett's latest speeding ticket 'extremely disappointing'
Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski is not pleased with defensive end Myles Garrett after the star was cited for driving 100 mph over the weekend. "Coming from a team leader, extremely disappointing," Stefanski said Wednesday before the Browns began their joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. "It's been addressed with Myles -- with the football team. He needs to slow down for his safety and the safety of others." Garrett, 29, was stopped by police in suburban Strongsville at 2:01 a.m. Saturday, about a half-hour after the team plane landed following a 30-10 preseason win in Carolina. He did not play in the game in Charlotte. He was ticketed for driving his gray 2014 Ferrari at 100 mph in a 60 mph zone. Garrett was issued a $250 ticket and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday, but he can avoid attending if he pays the fine. The incident comes nearly three years after Garrett flipped his Porsche 911 Turbo S multiple times in a single-car crash. He was traveling 65 mph in a 45 mph zone before driving off the side of the road, striking a ditch and fire hydrant. It's the eighth time Garrett has been cited for speeding since being drafted first overall in 2017 out of Texas A&M. The 2023 Defensive Player of the Year has been a force since entering the league. In eight seasons with the Browns, Garrett is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time first-team All-Pro. He has 352 tackles and 102.5 sacks in 117 games (114 starts). Man Trades Rare Ferrari for Ineos Station Wagon and $2.4 Million Cash

A car dealer in Texas recently accepted an unprecedented trade-in: A customer walked through the doors of an Ineos dealer looking to trade in their Ferrari F40 for a new station wagon and some cash. The customer got what they came for, walking out of the dealership with the keys to a new Ineos Grenadier Station Wagon and $2.4 million cash. The new Grenadier owner will be using the vehicle on his farm. George Ratcliff, president of the Americas at Ineos Automotive, told Newsweek the story, saying that the dealer principal told the salesperson, "You've got to get it and get out of it. So, he wrote a check for $2.4 million." The dealer turned the car around, selling it the next day for $2.5 million. "The F40 is peak analog Ferrari, a world-class supercar that speaks to an entire generation of auto enthusiasts who are now actively acquiring the cars of their dreams. Even though it's the most abundant of Ferrari's halo car lineup, it's also arguably the most purposeful, making it one of the rare cars to exceed 1,000 units while also being worth more than $2 million," Brian Rabold, Hagerty's vice president of automotive intelligence, told Newsweek. But this longer time frame must be balanced with the added costs of climate-controlled storage, specialty insurance, restorative needs, and routine maintenance, all of which will certainly impact the investor's overall return on investment. In addition, given the market volatility of collectibles due to changing tastes, illiquidity, and shifting economic trends, it is common for families to cap their investment into collectibles at 5–8% of their overall net worth. These families are also keen on diversification and would rather spread their risk by owning several collectible cars across various eras and categories rather than putting all their eggs into just one car," he said.

Max Verstappen pinpoints ‘incredible' reason for McLaren's F1 advantage
Max Verstappen believes he has now worked out why McLaren are dominating F1 so comprehensively this season, pointing to something that he describes as 'incredible to see'. McLaren clearly have the best car on the grid, as proven by the constructors' standings where they are a mammoth 299 points clear of second-placed Ferrari and have all-but sewn up the title ahead of the summer break. It's a similar story in the race for the drivers' crown with the title looking like a straight shootout between the team's two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Just three of the 14 races so far have been won by a driver from another team with Verstappen taking the chequered flag twice and Mercedes's George Russell triumphing in Canada. Piastri leads his McLaren teammate in the drivers' standings, although Norris closed the gap to a mere nine points by winning in Hungary in the final race before the summer break. Over the past 18 months, McLaren's MCL39 appears to keep it tyres alive longer than any other car on the grid. That has led to plenty of speculation as to why but while Red Bull star Verstappen acknowledges that the minimal tyre degradation does play a role, he has highlighted another reason for their success – their medium corner speed. 'It's definitely better on its tyres', Verstappen told the media. 'But at the same time, I think their medium speed performance is incredible compared to, I would say, everyone else on the grid. 'The rotation that they have on the front axle, without losing the rear, is something that is also quite incredible to see, and that's something that we have to try to achieve.' Any mid-season improvements from their rivals may come too late to catch a rampant McLaren but the rule changes coming into force for the 2026 season could signal a shifting of the guard. In the meantime, McLaren team principal Andrea Stella responded to Verstappen's cornering speed assessment. 'That's an easy answer because it can be answered just by looking at the GPS data,' Stella replied. 'When you look at the speed comparison with some other teams, the data says that McLaren can generate the highest mid-corner speed in medium-speed corners. 'So, I think the assessment of Max is correct. 'We still have our weak points. If you go on a very high-speed corner like Copse, for instance, or Pouhon, we are not the fastest car. Likewise, probably in very low speed, we are not the fastest car. 'But the majority of corners in a championship happen to be medium-speed corners, and certainly in that range, our car is, data in hand, the best.'
