Queensland Police have caused a stir on social media after sharing a picture of one of their officers at a farm holding a piglet.
The force uploaded an image of a female officer holding a piglet with one hand and a feeding bottle for the young farm animal in the other.
'We knew what we were doing when we hit publish,' the caption read.
The image sparked a divide amongst commentators as some praised Queensland poking fun at the term pig as a derogatory slang term for police officers.
Others branded the caption 'diabolical'.
One said: 'You knew what you were doing, but what were you thinking when you hit publish?'
However, another commentator saw the funny side of the post and wrote: 'Two pigs. They knew what they were doing and they're having a bit of fun.'
'I like it. Nothing harmful happening, just a bit of playfulness,' another agreed.
'Give the social team a raise,' someone else commented on the post.
This isn't the first time Queensland Police have enlisted the help of cute animals for their social media posts.
In March, the force uploaded a picture of a male officer holding a black pug.
'We support the possession of pugs, not drugs #PawAndOrder,' the caption read.
Last Christmas, Queensland shared a picture of eight of their officers cuddling adorable golden Labrador puppies.
'Cairns Paw Patrol are on the case this Christmas with 8 cops a cuddling,' it read.

A SOCIAL media "addicted" mum who stole £300,000 from her employer to blow on TikTok "tokens" has been jailed. Katherine Greenall was in tears in the dock yesterday as she was told she'd be locked up for pinching the vast sum from a car company where she worked as an accounts manager. 3 3 3 The mum-of-two, 29, spent the vast majority of the cash on TikTok tokens, which users can gift to their favourite creators. However, the court also heard Greenall also treated herself to holidays, hotel stays and Amazon purchases during her year-long "voyage of fraud and misadventure", reports the Manchester Evening News. The thief claimed she now has only a few hundred pounds left in her bank account. Liverpool Crown Court heard on Friday afternoon, Greenall began working for St Helens-based New Reg Ltd, a technology firm which specialises in purchasing vehicles for clients, in a lesser role in April 2021. The mum, of the town's Gloucester Street, was promoted in December 2022, giving her access to business bank accounts. Prosecutor Christopher Taylor was considered "vital" to the growing firm and described as "both trusted and respected" before it was found she was siphoning off the funds into her own accounts. Analysis of Greenall's bank statements showed during 2023 she received 53 unauthorised deposits totalling £57,036 from her employer. During this period, she also began increasing her spending at supermarkets, as well as other food outlets, sports retailers and Amazon Prime. The court heard she also used the funds to pay for a family solicitor. Her spree ramped up in the early months of the following year, boosting her bank balance by another £196,364.26 by April 2024. Such large sums going missing raised suspicions amongst Greenall's superiors and were put to the defendant in a meeting with the company director on May 1. She pledged to investigate before making a "final deposit" of £20,000 immediately after and then left the office claiming there was an illness in her family. Greenall would later admit criminality during a meeting six days later and she was arrested on May 13. She told detectives she had been "living a lavish lifestyle" and had only £700 in her bank account. The mum said initially she'd been using the stolen money to pay for household purchases before she began funding her TikTok"obsession". Tokens on the platform can be bought with real money and exchanged for virtual gifts that users can send to creators during live streams, which can then be exchanged back to real cash. Greenall said the crime spree came "at a time when she was low", the court heard. Overall, she pinched £443,523.26 out of the company over 121 separate transactions, and spent £301,162.55 on TikTok tokens. Her actions jeopardised the future of the firm and placed over 30 former colleagues at risk of redundancy. Paul Becker, defending, told the court that his client "may have been suffering from a form of addiction to TikTok", but stated that she had "no formal diagnosis to such an addiction". Greenall's two children, an 11-year-old boy with severe ADHD, and a six-year-old girl, are anticipated to be looked after by their mum's sister. The defendant admitted one count of fraud by abuse of position and was jailed for 28 months. One of her supporters told her "I love you" from the public gallery as Greenall was led away. Judge Neil Flewitt KC said: "It is a tragedy that those children are going to suffer as a result of your dishonesty. "I have taken the view that there is simply no way to avoid what I am sure you have been advised is the inevitable sentence of imprisonment.

Disqualified driver accused of hitting and killing woman then fleeing the scene is named
A disqualified driver has been denied bail after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal hit-and-run on a busy Sydney roadway. Police allege a 20-year-old disqualified driver fatally struck a woman believed to be aged in her 60s on Macquarie Avenue, Penrith, about 5.30pm on Thursday. Nine News and the Daily Telegraph identified the driver as Lasaro Tavai. Emergency services were called to the scene by which time Tavai had allegedly fled without stopping. The female pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene. Police released two pieces of footage as part of their investigation. In the first video, filmed on dashcam, a ute appeared to make a right-hand turn onto a busy roadway before barreling towards the woman's position. In the following frame, an orange ute could be seen waiting at the intersection while indicating before making the turn. Following inquiries and an appeal for information, the 20-year-old man was arrested the following evening at a Taloma Street home in Penrith at 10.40pm on Friday. Officers attached to the Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene where crash investigators conducted forensic examinations. Tavai was taken to St Marys Police Station where he was charged with a raft of offences including dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death), fail to stop and assist after impact cause death. Police also charged Tavai with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday. According to the Daily Telegraph, Tavai did not appear in court on Saturday where no bail application was made and was formally refused. His matter is reportedly listed for the same court on June 13.

Kids allegedly spotted carrying lethal weapons at a busy shopping centre just days after they were banned
A popular Melbourne shopping centre was sent into lockdown on Friday evening after a group of boys were seen allegedly carrying machetes days after a ban came into effect. The group of five-to-six boys were seen arguing inside Caroline Springs Shopping Centre in the west Melbourne suburb of Caroline Springs, at about 6.40pm. A Victoria Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the boys were believed to have been armed with machetes and had fled by the time officers arrived at the scene. CCTV footage obtained by Nine News showed shoppers and retailers as they scrambled to avoid the armed mob who appeared to threaten one another. 'I feel so scared... I just quickly go and shut the cafe and tell my other staff "don't leave",' witness Pawan Kaur told Nine. Witness Hung Nguyen watched on in horror as a boy pulled what he believed to be a machete from his backpack before tensions spilled over. 'I can't believe it did happen,' he said. Shoppers affected by the lockdown plastered news of the incident across social media as the events unfolded. The popular Melbourne shopping centre was plunged into lockdown following reports of a group of boys carrying machetes 'Another machete attack while I was getting my noodle on,' one TikTok user wrote in a video filmed inside the shopping centre as the lockdown announcement played over the loudspeakers. While no injuries were reported, the incident called into question the effectiveness of a ban on the sale of machetes by the Victorian government. The ban followed a clash between suspected rival youth gangs alleged to have been carrying the weapons at Northland shopping centre in Preston on May 25. Footage from inside the popular mall depicted shoppers running for cover as a group of seven males, aged between 15 and 21, squared-off. The following day Premier Jacinta Allan announced her government would bring forward the machete ban until a permanent ban takes effect on September 1. 'In Victoria, community safety comes first. We must never let places we meet become places we fear,' Ms Allan said last Monday. 'I hate these knives, and I will keep introducing as many laws as it takes to get them off our streets, out of our shops and out of our lives.' Investigations into the Caroline Springs incident remain ongoing.
