Orlando Pirates: Mohau Nkota's message to Riveiro
Former Orlando Pirates winger Mohau Nkota has praised his former coach, Jose Riveiro, as well as his development coach, Joseph Makhanya. The 20-year-old attacker joined Saudi Pro League side Ettifaq Club after just one season with the Buccaneers. He scored five goals and provided seven assists in 39 matches across all competitions. On Monday, Nkota penned a heartfelt message on his social media platform. 'I'm filled with mixed emotions. There's sadness in leaving behind the only football home I've ever known, but also excitement for the journey that lies ahead. I've grown as a player, but even more importantly, I've grown as a person,' the former Orlando Pirates winger wrote. 'I'm proud and honoured to have won my first major cup with Orlando Pirates. The memories we've created and the friendships formed here will last a lifetime. 'To the fans – thank you for your unwavering support. Your cheers, your chants, your passion, and even your constructive criticism – all of it fueled me every single step of the way. I never forget the electric atmosphere you created on match days. It was a privilege to play for you. Nkota also took time to thank Makhanya, with whom he worked in development. The winger made his debut for Orlando Pirates first team late in 2024 and immediately became a fan favourite under Jose Riveiro. 'To coach Joseph Makhanya, you have been more than just a coach-you have been a true father figure. Your guidance has shaped me not only as a player but as a man and to the man who made me the person I am today-Coach Jose Riveiro thank you. Your influence on my journey has been immeasurable, and I will carry your lessons with me wherever I go,' Nkota wrote. With Nkota gone, Pirates announced the signing of a new winger. Kaizer Chiefs news: New striker to be sacrificed?
Kaizer Chiefs could look to sacrifice striker Tashreeq Morris after just seven months at the club. The 31-year-old forward has struggled to find his feet at Naturena, having signed from SuperSport in January. Morris only scored once for Chiefs in the nine matches he played for the club last season. According to Soccer Laduma , Kaizer Chiefs are set to make changes to the attacking department, with indications that Tashreeq Morris could be sacrificed. 'The technical team wants to have strikers with wingers believed to be playing a part in the attack. In their restructuring of the squad, they are believed to be looking at releasing one or two strikers, with Tashreeq Morris' name being bandied about. We will see after the pre-season for the final decision on which strikers will be sacrificed,' a source revealed to Siya crew. 'As much as the team is believed to be looking at releasing strikers, they are still looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder. They are talking about a winger or another number 10. I think that could be last signing for this window,' the source added. So far, seven players have left Kaizer Chiefs in the last seven weeks. Club captain Yusuf Maart has left Amakhosi to join newly-promoted Austrian Football Bundesliga outfit, SV Ried. The 29-year-old joined Chiefs from Sekhukhune United in July 2022, making his debut away to Royal AM the following month, and featured in 95 matches in the Gold & Black in all competitions, scoring seven times, including the winning goal in last season's Nedbank Cup Final. New Kaizer Chiefs star sends a message to the coach
This new Kaizer Chiefs attacker has never played in Mzansi but was born in Durban 26 years ago before establishing his entire professional career in England. Now back in South Africa after joining Kaizer Chiefs on a two-year deal, the versatile Chislett has revealed his favoured playing position. Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana winger: What happened? Kaizer Chiefs unveil Ethan Chislett. Image: Kaizer Chiefs website Speaking to the club's media, Chislett was asked to describe himself as a footballer. 'Versatile midfielder, can sit deep, play further forward and wide right, even striker a few times, although more in a 'false 9' role,' he said. Timeline report: New Kaizer Chiefs kit unveiling 'I like to cut in from the left onto my right foot, but if I had to define my best position, it would be a 'number 10'. 'I appreciate creativity, but the bottom line is you have to score goals to win games. I'd like to think I can rise to the occasion when called upon to make a decisive contribution for my team, and that's what motivates me. 'It will probably be surreal. It's something I'll look back on. Sometimes when you're in the moment you don't take everything in but afterwards it will fully sink in,' added the new Glamour Boy. 'I came to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup and watched a match in that stadium, so it's going to be unreal for me, and my family, to play there,' Chilett concluded.
