New Kaizer Chiefs star sends a message to the coach

This new Kaizer Chiefs attacker has never played in Mzansi but was born in Durban 26 years ago before establishing his entire professional career in England.
Chislett made a name for himself with standout performances at clubs like AFC Wimbledon and Port Vale, where he became known for his goal contributions and playmaking ability.
Now back in South Africa after joining Kaizer Chiefs on a two-year deal, the versatile Chislett has revealed his favoured playing position.

Speaking to the club's media, Chislett was asked to describe himself as a footballer. 'Versatile midfielder, can sit deep, play further forward and wide right, even striker a few times, although more in a 'false 9' role,' he said.

'I like to cut in from the left onto my right foot, but if I had to define my best position, it would be a 'number 10'.
'I appreciate creativity, but the bottom line is you have to score goals to win games. I'd like to think I can rise to the occasion when called upon to make a decisive contribution for my team, and that's what motivates me.
'It will probably be surreal. It's something I'll look back on. Sometimes when you're in the moment you don't take everything in but afterwards it will fully sink in,' added the new Glamour Boy.
'I came to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup and watched a match in that stadium, so it's going to be unreal for me, and my family, to play there,' Chilett concluded.

Kaizer Chiefs still want Sundowns striker despite complications

Kaizer Chiefs may have already brought in fresh talent this transfer window, but the club continues to chase more attacking options before the 2025/2026 season kicks off. Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro has emerged as a top priority for the Soweto giants. Ighodaro remains Chiefs' main target Despite several additions to their squad, Amakhosi have not shifted focus from their pursuit of Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro. Chiefs see him as a critical piece to sharpen their frontline, but securing his signature won't come easy. According to a source, everything hinges on Sundowns' willingness to let go of the 24-year-old striker. 'At the moment Chiefs are waiting on Sundowns. Ighodaro has one year remaining on his contract with Sundowns and only if they can release him first as a free agent or if they can buy him from the remaining months on his contract. But Chiefs are interested in him and depending on what Sundowns' decision is then Chiefs would still sign him before the start of the season,' the source revealed. The major obstacle for Kaizer Chiefs lies in negotiating with Sundowns. Ighodaro, who signed a five-year deal in 2021, remains contracted to the Chloorkop club until June 2026. While Sundowns have never fielded him in an official match, they have consistently sent him out on loan, with his most recent stint at AmaZulu FC showcasing his goalscoring potential. Even if Sundowns give the green light, Ighodaro's immigration status might stall the deal. Chiefs must navigate potential visa hurdles before they can officially bring the Nigerian forward into their setup. The transfer saga surrounding Ighodaro highlights Amakhosi's determination to build a potent strike force this season. But legal and contractual roadblocks may delay their plans. Will Ighodaro eventually land at Kaizer Chiefs? Let us know by leaving a comment below or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. 'He was extremely upset': Jose Riveiro misses chance to reunite with Pirates?

Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro is reportedly upset with the club's management's decision not to allow to team to travel to Spain for their pre-season. The 49-year-old Spanish coach joined the Red Devils in May from Orlando Pirates where he won five trophies in three years. During his time with the Buccaneers, Riveiro took his team to Spain twice for pre-season, which was one of the reasons why the Sea Robbers were successful. According to Journalist Medhat Shalaby, the former Bucs coach wanted Al Ahly to have their pre-season in his native country, where he believed conditions would be more favourable for preparation. 'Al Ahly had agreed to hold a training camp in Spain, and the Spaniard Jose Riveiro wanted to hold the camp in his country, especially since the atmosphere in Spain is completely different from that in Tunisia at the moment,' Shalaby said per Elwatan News . 'The Spaniard, Riveiro, after learning that the camp would be held in Tunisia, expressed his great anger and was extremely upset. 'The Al-Ahly management convinced him and told him that the Etoile Sportive du Sahel club would cover the costs,' he added. 'In the end, Etoile Sportive du Sahel apologised, and the two friendly matches for Al-Ahly club will be held against both Stade Tunisien (already played) and Bizertin.' Jose Riveiro could possibly have reunited with Orlando Pirates, given that the Buccaneers' pre-season was recently held in Spain. Springboks: The nine players released, and why!

Ahead of the Springboks' first two Tests in the Rugby Championship, Rassie Erasmus has trimmed the squad from 46 players in the wider group to a more deliberate 36-man squad that will come into contention against Australia. Here we take a look at the nine players who have been released on 'standby', and the reasons why. Lukhanyo Am: The 31-year-old missed the July internationals due to an injury, and needs to get back to fitness and form as the Springboks currently know what they have in Jesse Kriel and Canan Moodie. Faf de Klerk: It does increasingly seem as if De Klerk has begun to hand over the baton to younger scrumhalves such as Grant Williams and Morne van den Berg, but don't bet against the double World Cup winner having a role to play later in the Rugby Championship. Makazole Mapimpi: The third – but not final – World Cup stalwart to miss out on the Springboks' latest selection. Considering he will soon turn 35, it does stand to reason that the coaches are spending more time getting a closer look at the likes of Edwill van der Merwe and Ethan Hooker. Salmaan Moerat: The Springboks are blessed with depth at lock, and in a trimmed squad, it's no huge surprise that space has just run out for Moerat. Evan Roos: The curious case of Evan Roos continues at national level. Despite a number of unavailable players at No 8, it seems like Cobus Wiese has now even jumped ahead of the Stormers star in the pecking order. Neethling Fouche: It's a pity to see the incredibly likeable Fouche fall out of the mix, but with Vincent Koch, Wilco Louw and exciting newcomer Asenathi Ntlabakanye all covering tighthead, his omission doesn't come as a major shock. Vincent Tshituka: It is a bit of a surprise that Tshituka has missed out after largely impressing at the start of the season, but it may be that Jean-Luc du Preez is seen to be deserving of a chance to back up first-choice star Pieter-Steph du Toit. Thomas du Toit: The burly prop is undergoing a compulsory two-week rest period in line with English Premiership protocols. Jasper Wiese: The World Cup-winning No 8 is serving a four-match suspension. In total, Erasmus' squad includes 20 forwards and 17 backline players. The Springboks will face the Wallabies in Johannesburg on Saturday 16 August, and again a week later in Cape Town on 23 August. Forwards: Lood de Jager (Wild Knights), Pieter-Steph du Toit (Toyota Verblitz), Jean-Luc du Preez (Bordeaux Begles), Eben Etzebeth (Sharks), Vincent Koch (Sharks), Siya Kolisi (Sharks), Wilco Louw (Vodacom Bulls), Malcolm Marx (Kubota Spears), Bongi Mbonambi (Sharks), Franco Mostert (Honda Heat), Ox Nche (Sharks), Ruan Nortje (Vodacom Bulls), Asenathi Ntlabakanye (Lions), Kwagga Smith (Shizuoka Blue Revs), RG Snyman (Leinster), Marnus van der Merwe (Scarlets), Marco van Staden (Vodacom Bulls), Boan Venter (Edinburgh), Jan-Hendrik Wessels (Vodacom Bulls), Cobus Wiese (Vodacom Bulls). Backs: Kurt-Lee Arendse (Vodacom Bulls), Damian de Allende (Wild Knights), Andre Esterhuizen (Sharks), Aphelele Fassi (Sharks), Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (Stormers), Ethan Hooker (Sharks), Jesse Kriel (Canon Eagles), Cheslin Kolbe (Tokyo Sungoliath), Willie le Roux (Vodacom Bulls), Manie Libbok (Hanazono Kintetsu Liners), Canan Moodie (Vodacom Bulls), Handre Pollard (Vodacom Bulls), Cobus Reinach (Stormers), Edwill van der Merwe (Sharks), Morne van den Berg (Lions), Grant Williams (Sharks), Damian Willemse (Stormers).
