Brian Dawkins lends his Hall-of-Fame eyes to the analysis of an Eagles star defensive back
Forgive the lack of knowledge for where this phrase originated, but its origin isn't as important as the phrase itself. 'One's opinion is only as valuable as a person's knowledge of a particular subject. Here's another way of stating the same thing. Who better to comment on the Philadelphia Eagles' brilliance than one of the best players to ever suit up in midnight or Kelly Green?
The legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins certainly qualifies. He's on just about everyone's Eagles Mount Rushmore, and if he isn't on yours, you may want to rethink your evaluation strategy.
Recently, he appeared as a guest on 94 WIP-FM during a live broadcast from training camp. He mentioned a rising star. Of course you're interested. Why on Earth wouldn't you be?
Brian Dawkins joins the growing Cooper DeJean fan club
Every time we think Cooper DeJean's star can't get any brighter, it does, so at this point, perhaps it's best to resign ourselves to theories about his brilliance and vast potential. His name recently earned a mention from one of the best DBs of his time, Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins.
What else needs to be said? When Weapon X talks about great DB talent, you will hear no rebuttal from this direction.
It's year two for DeJean. He is already a Super Bowl champion. He picked off Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 59. Then, he wore a suit to the ring ceremony commemorating the moment.
His teammate, A.J. Brown, sees the All-Pro potential. He's one of the hosts of the Exciting Mics podcast. His flame is indeed burning brightly, and it appears it will burn for a while.
His collegiate career ended with him being named a Unanimous All-American. His professional career began with his inclusion on the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
What will he do for an encore after a great rookie season? Time will tell, but, like Dawkins, the expectation is that another great campaign is coming.

Love Is Blind's Emma Willis reveals secret to marriage is 'sticking through the s***'
Emma Willis and Matt Willis reflect on their 17-year marriage with Yahoo UK Love Is Blind UK hosts Emma and Matt Willis say the secret to their 17-year marriage is "sticking through the s***". Together, they are hosting the second series of Love Is Blind — where contestants hope to fall in love without ever having met their partner face-to-face. As one of the most popular couples in UK showbiz, the married presenters are a good fit for the role of the hosts. Emma and Matt, who tied the knot in 2008, confessed that everyone wants to know: What's the secret to their successful marriage? Initially, the couple were stumped for an answer despite having been married for 17 years and raising their three children together: Isabelle, Ace and Trixie. "Do you know what it is? You feel like you're going, well, we have the answers to love!" Matt told Yahoo UK. Expanding on his answer, the Busted star explained, "The thing is, you balls it up on the way [with love]. It's... are you ready to go through the hard times? To go through it, I think. "Because it's not easy being with someone for many, many years, but at the end of the day, do you love that person? And do you like them? And do you want to be with them forever?" Emma said: "Are you willing to stick through the s***?" Then she added: "And so far, we have." Matt agreed: "Absolutely, absolutely." What isn't a secret is how much fun Emma and Matt are having working on Love Is Blind together. They were already hooked on the franchise after watching the fourth series of the American version of Love Is Blind before landing their jobs on the UK version of the show. "We love it, don't we?" Emma said. Playfully, she added to her husband: "You love it." Cheeky Matt pretended to have to say: "I do love it. I love it very much." But he did agree: "I genuinely do, I genuinely do [love it]." Love Is Blind UK casting There are 28 brave singletons putting their hearts on the line for the second series of Love Is Blind UK. And that comes with an element of risk. At first, Matt is sure a legally binding wedding is the "biggest risk" of taking part in the show. Interestingly, in Channel 4's Married At First Sight UK, the weddings are not legally binding. Netflix's Love Is Blind is offering the singletons the chance to get married for real on TV. Matt said that a wedding is "the ultimate declaration of love". "It's like I choose you forever," he said. "There's nothing really out there that does that... It's a massive thing. It's like I choose you above everyone else forever... That's a pretty big thing." Emma identified heartbreak being a risk for those involved. "Heartbreak is the biggest risk, isn't it?" She said. "Because you're going on there wanting what the show can provide, and that is hopefully to find somebody that you can fall in love with and spend the rest of your life with and get married to. It does work, but obviously not in every single case, so I would imagine heartbreak is the biggest [risk]." Matt agreed with his wife: "Yeah, I think so [heartbreak is the biggest risk], because they do put themselves out there — and you have to." Behind the scenes, the presenters revealed the great lengths Netflix bosses go to ensure that everyone on the show is genuinely looking for love. "Obviously, occasionally someone slips through the gaps [who isn't genuinely looking for love]," Matt said. "And everyone's so surprised because they're so rigorous with casting. We know what we want on this show. We want to find people that want to get married. And they so good casting, aren't they? "They really go to town. They really get everything from them. So they know where they are." Emma agreed: "They really want to find people that genuinely wanna do it because if you don't, it's a waste of time for everybody really, cos that's not the objective of the show. "And as we said, it's a legal wedding at the end of it, so you can't really go, 'Oh yeah, I'm gonna go on that show and I'll pretend to fall in love with someone and pretend to get married to them' cos it's not pretend. It's actually real [where they legally get married]!" Cheeky Matt added: "If you want to go on something and you know, and look good in a swimsuit, there are other shows you can go on that are more suited for you." Love Is Blind UK series 2 is available to stream from 13 August.

Aaron Donald takes 4 of the top-10 best DT seasons since 2019
It's hard to pick another defensive tackle better than Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald. The Rams' star made the Pro Bowl all 10 years he played in the NFL, as well as eight first-team All-Pro teams and three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards. He was a top-5 vote-getter for DPOY four other teams, too. So, it's not terribly surprising that some of Donald's seasons rank among the best by a defensive tackle over the past six seasons. But, according to Pro Football Network, Donald's four best seasons took the top-four spots in their top-10 rankings since 2019. These were ranked on PFN's DT+ metric. Here's how the seasons broke down for Donald: Now, it should be noted that Donald's 2018 season, when he led the NFL with 20.5 sacks, wasn't included because it predated the 2019 cut-off. But the rest of these seasons make sense. Donald tallied 12.5 sacks in 2021 with 19 tackles for a loss, 25 quarterback hits and four forced fumbles in the Rams' Super Bowl-winning year. He also came in third for DPOY. In 2019, Donald led the NFL with 20 tackles for a loss to go with his 12.5 sacks and 24 quarterback hits. He finished fifth in DPOY. Oddly enough, Donald's best statistical season and third DPOY award ranked third on this list. He tallied 13.5 sacks — his second most in a season after his 2018 year — with 14 tackles for a loss, 28 quarterback hits and a NFL-leading approximate value (via Pro Football Reference) of 23. Donald's final NFL season in 2023 ranked fourth on the list. He registered eight sacks, 16 tackles for a loss and 23 quarterback hits. While he didn't make the DPOY top-5, he finished ninth in Comeback Player of the Year after he missed six games in 2022. Donald was one of the best defensive players of the past decade and played every year for the Rams. It will be tough for any defensive tackle in the near future to come close to the accomplishments of Donald.

49ers Lead NFL With $176 Million in 2024 Ticket Revenue
The San Francisco 49ers stumbled to a 6-11 record in 2024, just one year removed from a Super Bowl appearance. Still, they finished with the NFL's highest ticket revenue, according to someone familiar with the NFL's internal gate report. The Niners generated $176 million in net gate receipts from general seating and club seating (luxury suites are excluded). The tally is after local taxes but before the visiting teams' share. More from Pop Warner Embraces NFL Flag Football Program-and Tackle Too Bob Iger Won't Split the Baby in Two After the ESPN-NFL Deal Closes NFL Head of Security Faces New Challenges After NYC Shooting The 49ers were $40 million ahead of the Dallas Cowboys, who ranked second at $136 million. Rounding out the top five were the Philadelphia Eagles ($130 million), Denver Broncos ($129 million) and Miami Dolphins ($127 million). This marks the third straight year San Francisco finished first, with the Las Vegas Raiders the previous top club in 2021. Thanks to the demographics in and around Santa Clara, Calif., where Levi's Stadium is based, the 49ers can command high ticket prices. The team also made the NFC Championship game four of five years before the 2024 drop-off. The Niners' season ticket revenue also got a boost in 2021 when the club raised prices by $20 on average and included many concession items for free as part of a 'member inclusive' ticket price. It has further raised prices multiple times since then. At the other end of the spectrum, the Tennessee Titans' ticket revenue jumped 10% to $81 million, but the club still finished No. 32 in the league for the second straight year. However, expect Tennessee to shoot up the rankings when their new stadium opens for the 2027 season. The Indianapolis Colts ($83.3 million) and Arizona Cardinals ($83.4 million) had the next-lowest gate receipts in the league. The NFL gathers the data annually and shares the results with its 32 teams, covering gross ticket revenue, net revenue and total tickets sold. The NFL did not respond to a request for comment on the contents of the report. Even though the 49ers have been on top the last three years, the rankings can swing from year to year based on league's 17-game schedule. Last year, NFC teams had nine regular-season home games and one preseason game, while the breakdown for AFC teams was eight and two—and regular-season ticket prices are typically much higher than preseason. Regular-season ticket prices are 100% higher than preseason in Green Bay, which helped the Packers post record revenue in 2024 in their first-ever season with nine regular-season games at Lambeau Field. International games also impact the rankings. The NFL used to 'make up' the shortfall in local revenue when teams had to relinquish a home game to play internationally. With the expansion to a 17-game schedule, the league determined that every team would play internationally at least once every eight years. So, instead of making teams whole, the NFL now just pays teams' travel expenses for their international game under the rationale that every team will lose a home game—and, in turn, home game ticket revenue—during that time. The Eagles ranked third in 2024 net gate receipts despite losing a home game when it 'hosted' the Packers in Brazil last year. NFL bylaws require teams to share 34% of ticket revenue with other clubs. Clubs can deduct certain expenses from the shared total and get waivers from certain obligations tied to renovations or new stadium construction. Every team received roughly $27 million from its cut of visiting teams' share in 2024. Best of Tennis Prize Money Tracker: Which Player Has Earned the Most in 2025?
