Colts 2025 NFL draft rumors tracker: Who's the pick at No. 14? Before the draft begins, stay up to date with the latest NFL draft rumors surrounding the Colts.
With the first round of the 2025 NFL draft nearing its start, we are getting closer to having our answer to the big question: Who are the Indianapolis Colts going to select?
Naturally, tight end has been the position most mocked to the Colts during his pre-draft cycle--and it's easy to see why. Perhaps the big question, however, since we all know that is a pressing need, is who will be available at that position when the Colts are on the clock?
Going beyond the tight end position, the Colts can't forget about the offensive line with there being an opening at right guard, and the defensive line could be on their radar as well.
So while tight end is garnering the attention, there's a few different directions GM Chris Ballard can go.
So, before the Colts find themselves on the clock, we've been keeping track of all the draft-related rumors and news surrounding Indianapolis.
Teams might be trying to jump Colts for Colston Loveland
In Field Yates' final mock draft, he had the Colts picking Loveland, but Mel Kiper Jr. left an interesting note.
"Everyone is connecting the Colts to the tight ends," Kiper wrote. "As such, I've heard that a few teams might even be trying to trade ahead of Indianapolis to get Loveland, though it's unclear which ones."
As I described following Daniel Jeremiah's final mock draft, this would create a worst-case scenario for the Colts at the tight end position.
Pre-draft buzz around Tyler Warren going in the top 10
Warren has been a favorite pick for the Colts in mock drafts. However, there are a lot of teams that could benefit from his do-it-all presence in their offense. And in a draft without as many blue-chip prospects, teams could be more willing to take a non-premium position sooner.
Mel Kiper Jr. has mentioned a few teams in the top 10 who could be interested in Warren, and Dianna Russini specifically highlighted the Jets at pick No. 7.
"Tight end Tyler Warren was Penn State's Swiss Army knife in 2024, but what type of role could he have in a Justin Fields-led offense? Expect the Jets to have interest in tight ends, including the Mackey Award winner, with the No. 7 pick," Russini wrote.
Could the Colts trade for a tight end?
ESPN's Dan Graziano floated the idea of the Colts potentially trading for one of Mark Andrews or Dallas Goedert, both of whom seem to be available on the trade market. Possibly doing this, as Graziano described, is dependent on the Colts not getting the prospect(s) they want in the draft.
"If the Colts or some other tight end-needy team misses out on the top guys at that position, that could make them more likely to pursue an available veteran such as Baltimore's Mark Andrews or Philadelphia's Dallas Goedert," Graziano wrote.
Could the Colts trade up?
While not a rumor or a report, in Peter Schrager's one and only mock draft that is based on what he's hearing, of note, the Colts did trade up to the 10th pick to grab Warren.
"Ballard & Co. get a 6-foot-6 tight end who has many teams enchanted ahead of Round 1. This pick would be about instant offense for a team that needs it."
Colts "looked into" Ohio State QB Will Howard
Adding to the quarterback position is very much in play for the Colts, and they reportedly have shown some level of interest in Ohio State's Will Howard, according to ESPN.
"As far as midround options go," Graziano wrote, "Pittsburgh has done a lot of work on Ohio State's Will Howard. The Colts, Jets and Raiders also have looked into Howard, whose play in the College Football Playoff helped his profile."
