Chahal's right wrist was protected, but the veteran spinner did train. He played football, took catches, and bowled a few balls in the empty net.
It is yet to be seen how much his wrist has recovered, but TimesofIndia.com has learned that he is ready to take injections, if needed, to get back into the playing XI.

Chahal, a wily customer, will be needed by Shreyas Iyer against the five-time champions MI, who never slip up in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, MI have had their own share of injury issues. Deepak Chahar, who didn't play the Eliminator due to a hamstring strain in his left leg, was at the venue for his fitness test.
The MI team had reached Ahmedabad at AM on a chartered flight, but their coaching staff and medical team were at the stadium, conducting Chahar's fitness test. The other MI bowler who made it to the stadium was left-arm quick Reece Topley.
Chahar looked fine, but if he is not match-fit, then Topley might play his first match for MI.
MI vs PBKS weather report
While there have been some light pre-monsoon showers in Ahmedabad in the days leading up to the match, the forecast for Sunday, June 1, suggests a low chance of rain during match hours.

MI vs PBKS pitch report
The covers from the pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium came off for barely five minutes, with MI coaching staff, including head coach Mahela Jayawardene, taking a quick look. This is the same pitch on which Gujarat Titans defended 217 against Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings defended 230 against the home team. One can expect a run-fest in Qualifier 2. Of the 14 innings played in Ahmedabad, teams have crossed the 200-run mark on nine instances.

PBKS, RCB chase their first IPL crown
Ahmedabad: At the best of times, captains dodge probing questions in pre-match media conferences. Put captains of the two IPL finalists next to each other on match eve, staring at the trophy they will fight for after 10 weeks of attrition and you can expect them to be anything but candid. 'I respect your question, but don't think I would want to answer with the opposing skipper sitting beside me,' Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer said when asked about his ability to pick moments in a match, on when to go hard, as his Royal Challengers Bengaluru counterpart Rajat Patidar listened. The only time the two skippers lowered their guard in the 20-minute press meet was when reminded about their leading Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh in the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final. 'Haan wahi feeling aa rahi hai (It's the same feeling),' Iyer said. 'I was telling Shreyas the same thing. Bus, stage different hai,' said Patidar. An exhilarating IPL in which the most 200-plus totals have been achieved, laced with the most sixes and highest scoring rates, is coming to an end. However, Tuesday night will be less about these statistics and all about which set of players hold their nerves under pressure at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Whoever wins, we will have a new champion. In a season where IPL marked its adulthood, eight different winners out of a total of 15 teams that have played in the competition would be a fair reflection of its level playing field. While every team can stage an upset, not every team can be consistent. MI and CSK have been serial winners. KKR have won the title thrice. But take this year's finalists. RCB had made three previous finals – 2009, 2011, 2016. But PBKS advanced to the final only once before, in 2014. Peel more layers and you figure it was the only season Punjab even made the playoffs. Never before has Punjab looked in command as they currently do in head coach Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer's care – table-toppers in the league phase and having served Mumbai Indians a crushing defeat in Qualifier 2. You could say the same about RCB. If anything, RCB are a better structured squad and stronger in terms of experience. Virat Kohli has been high on intent, but unlike the past he has not felt the pressure to search for sixes, complemented by Phil Salt, who punctures bowlers' egos from the other end. Similarly with the ball, Yash Dayal can hold his own as all he has to do is support the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. Jitesh Sharma has discovered a new gear as a finisher. With previous RCB squads, their Indian core lacked experience. This time, they also have Krunal Pandya's wisdom to draw upon. RCB is the box-office side with soaring viewership and sponsorship, the same as the more successful teams. A lot of it is down to Kohli, their one-man industry. Energetic that he is on field, even Kohli has shown his human face of late, giving up cricket in piecemeal, as the burden, external and internal, gets too much to handle. Kohli was the first man out to bat in the nets on Monday evening, pumping balls out of the ground. It is the first thing he will look to do when he steps out to bat at the centre wicket (mixed-soiled pitch) of the Narendra Modi Stadium, which will fill to capacity in his support. PBKS players didn't turn up for practice after the late-night slugfest against MI on Sunday. Iyer said he could only catch about four hours of disturbed sleep. Speaking about the need for a quick turnaround for the final, PBKS bowling coach James Hopes slipped in a quick one, 'I imagine it is going to be a pretty big crowd and a pretty big pro-Kohli crowd as well,' he said. For Patidar, the season has been transformative. Up until he was appointed RCB captain, he was a domestic journeyman with fleeting experience of international cricket, without much success. Now, he will be fronting the aspirations of IPL's most passionate fan base that will ask again, 'Ee sala Cup Namde?' 'Expectations come naturally, especially when you're leading a team like RCB in a final. But I always focus on the controllables,' Patidar pulled out one of the many cliches. The two captains went their ways after the media interaction to promote the final. Iyer headed to his team hotel to meet the squad, relying heavily on Indian talent. Bursting with energy, many of the youngsters haven't faced the stage that awaits them. 'It's time to take the bull by the horns,' Iyer had commented. There's a good chance that's the message he will share with his young bunch of hopefuls.

The video, shared by Pinkvilla, shows the duo in a dimly lit upscale restaurant, seated together and seemingly engrossed in a private conversation. While neither has confirmed the relationship, their frequent appearances together have continued to fuel speculation. The dinner clip was reportedly recorded a few days ago, before the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 match in Ahmedabad. Chahal's team, Punjab Kings, played against Mumbai Indians in the high-stakes match on June 1. Mahvash has been a familiar face at Chahal's important matches this season, and it is expected she will attend the IPL 2025 final on June 3. With the Punjab Kings making it to the final, all eyes are not only on Chahal's performance but also on the woman who has been spotted supporting him from the stands. "Mad proud of the boys": Ranveer Singh sends uplifting message for Mumbai Indians players post heartbreaking loss to Punjab Kings
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 2 (ANI): Actor Ranveer Singh, who is an avid cricket follower, penned an uplifting message for the Mumbai Indians team after they lost to Punjab Kings in IPL's Qualifier 2. Taking to Instagram Story, the 'Band Baaja Baaraat' star wrote, 'Not ours this time but still mad proud of the boys. Showed our might and mettle in a hard-fought tournament. Still the most feared team in the league. Unbreakable spirit. Indefatigable Indians.' Five-time champions MI ended their IPL campaign with a crushing loss to PBKS by five wickets at Ahmedabad on Sunday night, booking a title clash between PBKS and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). PBKS won the toss and opted to bowl first. After losing Rohit Sharma early, a 51-run stand between Jonny Bairstow (38 in 24 balls, with three fours and two sixes) and Tilak Varma (44 in 29 balls, with two fours and two sixes) pushed MI forward. A 72-run partnership for the third wicket between Tilak and Suryakumar Yadav (44 in 26 balls, with four boundaries and three sixes) helped MI keep a healthy run rate. All MI needed was a final push from Naman Dhir (37 in 18 balls, with seven fours) to take MI to 203/6 in 20 Omarzai (2/43) was the pick of the bowlers for PBKS. Kyle Jamieson, Marcus Stoinis, Yuzi Chahal and Vijaykumar Vyshak took a wicket each. In the run chase, PBKS had some stumbles initially despite a blitz from Josh Inglis (38 in 21 balls, with five fours and a six), who took down Jasprit Bumrah for 20 runs in an over. An 84-run stand between Nehal Wadhera (48 in 29 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) and skipper Shreyas Iyer helped PBKS maintain the required tempo for the chase. After quick dismissals of Wadhera and Shashank reduced PBKS to 169/5 in 16.4 overs, a ruthless Shreyas (87* in 41 balls, with five fours and eight sixes) took down pace to guide his team to five-wicket win with an over left. Ashwani Kumar (2/55) was the top bowler for MI. Trent Boult (1/38) and Hardik Pandya (1/19) took one wicket each. Bumrah was wicketless for 40 runs in four overs. Iyer was given the 'Player of the Match' honour for his clutch knock. The final between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is set for Tuesday at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. (ANI)
