Shah Rukh Khan's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' actress Farida Jalal on why she's not working in Karan Johar's films anymore: 'These people shift loyalties very fast and...'
Veteran actress Farida Jalal, who recently made a solid comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, accused Karan Johar of shifting loyalties very fast.
'Back in the day, Karan Johar… I don't know what he's like nowadays, loyalties shift very fast. He doesn't have any role for me in his films these days, even though they wouldn't make a film without me at one point. His father, Yash Johar, was one of my favourite producers. What a man, what a gem of a person! He'd call me up and say, 'Dekhiye Farida, hero ka role toh baad mein likha jaata hai, aapka role pehle likha jaata hai (We write your character even before we've decided where to go with the protagonist)',' said Jalal while talking to Bollywood Bubble.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
She continued, 'I first met Karan on the sets of _Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge_, because he was Aditya Chopra's right hand man on that film. We became very close. He would tell me that he's going to make a film, and Kajol, Shah Rukh and I were all with him. He came to tell me the story of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai… It is still his best film, and I'm not just saying this because I was in it.It was a very sensitive film. He would write each and every word, every scene himself. I cried when he narrated the film to me.'

Karan Johar Recalls Being Isolated As A Child: 'I Was Not A Boy Enough'
Karan Johar also mentioned that during his teens, he tried hard to be a part of the group with other children. However, he was never considered "a boy enough". Karan Johar has opened up about feeling isolated when he was a child. Recently, the filmmaker was speaking to Jay Shetty on his YouTube channel when he recalled how he struggled to gain acceptance among other kids from his age group. 'I was told I was, you know, more feminine than I should be. I walked differently. I ran differently. I spoke differently. My choices in life, my hobbies in life, were different," Karan said. 'So whenever I went down, you know we lived in like apartment blocks, and when you went down, it was the thing that all the kids in the apartment block would come down and play in the evenings, and I wanted to belong," the filmmaker continued. 'I wanted to be part of the football team. I wanted to play cricket with the boys. But nobody chose me because I wasn't good enough. You know, I wasn't sporty enough. I was not boy enough or man enough. So when you ask me what I wanted to be, the first thing at that age was that I wanted to belong," the 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' director went on," KJo added. Karan further mentioned that during his teens, he tried hard to be a part of the group with other children. However, he was never considered 'a boy enough". 'The very first part of my formative years, my teenage years, was just to belong. And no one told me then that you don't have to. You can be your own person. That guidance, that nurturing, that philosophy of life wasn't given to me at that point in time. And I remember the particular moment when my mother sat me down, and I was 12, because I was going through a really rough time. I wanted to change schools. I wanted to because I felt I was being ragged in and around. And I still went back to the same school. I didn't change schools," he said. Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar's Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri will hit theatres on August 1, 2025. Archana Puran Singh's son threatens to slap her with a lawsuit for using his music in her vlogs, she pretends to not recognise him
Actor Archana Puran Singh is back with another vlog, where she took her fans along on a shoot for The Great Indian Kapil Show. After poking fun at cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal about his relationship status and finishing her shooting schedule for the day, Archana decided to go for dinner with husband Parmeet Sethi, sons Aaryamann and Ayushmann, and a special guest. At dinner, Archana introduced the viewers to her son Aaryamann's girlfriend, Yogita Bihani, who, according to her, was joining them for the first time. She said, 'Dekho aaj pehli baar kaun hai hamare saath (Look who's with us for the first time),' as she panned the camera towards Yogita. Archana then said that she recognises Yogita but doesn't know the man sitting beside her (Aaryamann), who then broke out his Middle Eastern accent, which he kept using during the family's trip to Dubai. What followed was a joke-off between the two sons, who kept going back and forth for quite a while before giving it a rest. Watch Ayushmann said to his brother, 'I was having such a good life without you,' to which Aaryamann quickly replied, 'I was living a good life for three years, and then he was born. It was actually my life that was better before you came.' Ayushmann proceeded to say that he is actually older than his brother, and Aaryamann retorted with, 'Okay, you are older than me. All casting directors, you heard it here first.' Some more jokes followed, even though some of them had to be explained to Archana by Yogita. As the food started arriving and the family simmered down, Yogita said, 'I just realised that I am actually a part of my favourite vlog channel.' Archana then made a callback to her character from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and played out the iconic 'Pyaar Kya Hai?' (What is love?) scene. Ayushmaan did the lines for Shah Rukh Khan, as they did the whole scene while making fun of Yogita and Aaryamann for just being friends. After finishing and making a lot of puns, the family started singing the words 'like, share, and subscribe' but in a tune belonging to Aaryamann. He said, 'You will have to pay me royalty for all of this. I will not give you the audio for any of my songs, and I will hit your channel with a copyright strike. My songs are used in every episode. Saare episode se nikaloonga mai (I will take them out of every episode).'
