Daniel Dubois reveals new training tactic ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Dubois is set to take on Usyk in a heavyweight bout on Saturday night and has been revealing how he has altered his training schedule ahead of the fight
Daniel Dubois is gearing up for his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk by training at night to mimic the conditions of their upcoming bout.
The two heavyweights are set to clash on Saturday night for the undisputed heavyweight title, with Usyk looking to become a three-time undisputed champion and Dubois seeking vengeance. The rematch, taking place at Wembley Stadium, sees Dubois determined to even the score on home turf.

Their first encounter in 2023 ended with Usyk securing a ninth-round knockout victory, but not without controversy. At one point, 'Triple D' managed to floor Usyk with a body shot, which was later ruled a low blow, causing consternation within Dubois' camp.

Dubois is pulling out all the stops to inflict Usyk's first defeat, including altering his training schedule to late evenings instead of early mornings. Speaking to DAZN, the British heavyweight champ explained the change: "It is how you be fighting, isn't it? And it is much cooler. Training in the day... you would be boiling," reports All Out Fighting.

He added: "I do like the heat. Makes it harder, but not too much harder. it is bearable now. Bearable, but it is good work. It is always good work." Regarding his upcoming bout with Usyk, Dubois has revealed he has made a few changes and is hoping that they will make a positive difference come fight night.
"A couple of things we have added," he shared. "On fight night, you will see it come to fruition. Right now, it is the hard work, the grind in the gym, the every day sort of work and just keeping on top of it is what I am doing right now." The Brit issued a spine-chilling warning, confidently stating his intention to decisively defeat the Ukrainian.

"This time around, I am going to knock him out and I am going to win. That is going to be the main difference from that first fight to this fight. That is going to be the main thing... I am excited, but I have still got a lot of work to do before the 19th.
"So, every day, we are chipping away. Right now, I have not got much to say. I am just humble and ready to fight, ready to win, ready to shock the world and take all the belts."

Daniel Dubois determined to dazzle on his date with destiny

Daniel Dubois is determined to join Britain's boxing pantheon when he faces Oleksandr Usyk in their world heavyweight title unification clash at Wembley on Saturday night. The 27-year-old has landed the IBF title and subsequently defended it in style by flattening Anthony Joshua in five rounds last September. However, he knows avenging his stoppage loss to Usyk in their first meeting in August 2023 will fulfil an early prophecy made by his father and make him one of the most recognisable domestic stars. Dubois told The Guardian: 'I'm setting out to do what my dad talked about in the beginning, before I even was a real fighter. 'He always said I would win a world heavyweight championship and then I'd win it outright and become a legend like Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis and Nigel Benn (from) that era of fighters where there were real fighting men.' Dubois bounced back from his first career loss to Joe Joyce in 2020 by racking up four straight wins before running into Usyk, who handed him a one-sided beating before the Ukrainian went on to cement his own name at the top of his sport with two wins over Tyson Fury. But Dubois responded by seizing his chance to pick up the vacant IBF belt with victory over Filip Hrgovic and underscored his improvement with his four-knockdown triumph over former champion Joshua. Despite going into the fight as a significant underdog, Dubois is convinced he is a different fighter to the one whom Usyk picked off with relative ease in their first meeting. 'I'm a different fighter now,' added Dubois. 'There have been real improvements. I'm doing things I've always done but I'm doing them better. Maybe I just want it more now.'

Royal caught napping at Wimbledon days after major celeb 'dozes off' on centre court

The Royal was pictured falling asleep just days after another famous face was snapped having a nap in the stands Primarily reserved for members of the British Royal Family, foreign royals, heads of state, celebrities, and former champions, all eyes are often on the Royal Box at Wimbledon and all movements are caught on camera. However, one particular Royal was spotted nodding off during the Men's singles final on Sunday, July 13. Lord Frederick Windsor attended the Men's Singles final at Wimbledon on Sunday, July 13 with wife, Sophie Winkleman. ‌ The couple were seated in some of the best spots on centre court. Lord Frederick is the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and is 54th in line to the British throne. His father, Prince Michael of Kent, is a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II. ‌ The couple were seen enjoying the sporting action but seemingly forgot that all actions were being captured on camera, reports the Express. Pictures from the event showed the Royal with his eyes closed, propping up his head with one arm, appearing to doze off multiple times. After a brief nap, he woke up and joined in the applause and cheering as the tennis tournament continued. Frederick, aged 46, looked dapper in a blue suit, a white shirt and a powder blue tie. Sophie, on the other hand, who is an actress, wore an elegant white dress adorned with tiny strawberries. Sophie turned heads with baroque-style pearl earrings and a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses to keep the sun at bay. Tennis enthusiast, Lord Frederick Windsor, was also spotted indulging his love for the sport, having graced the Championships on day two, day nine, and day 12. ‌ But it wasn't just royalty that snoozed amidst the thrill of this year's acclaimed tennis contest. Social media buzzed when BBC viewers caught Hugh Grant apparently dozing off during a match at Centre Court. The 64-year-old was there to soak in the Men's Singles Quarter-Final between Novak Djokovic and Flavio Cobolli. ‌ Accompanied by his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, the film star settled into Centre Court seats. A segment broadcast showed Hugh in the Royal Box, donning shaded sunglasses with his head dipped slightly forward. BBC Sport posted the moment that went viral on X, quipping: "It's all got a bit too much for Hugh Grant," followed by emojis signalling laughter and sleep. ‌ Spectators chimed in, noticing Hugh's drowsy moment, and shared their animated thoughts online. A viewer couldn't help but comment on X: "Not even Djokovic can keep Hugh Grant awake today." A second joked: "Well done Hugh. Exactly what I would have done in the sun." ‌ A third concluded: "Merely resting his eyes". In the end, Jannik Sinner fought back to beat defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets and win Wimbledon for the first time in his career. The Italian No. 1 seed is now a four-time Grand Slam champion. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.
