Sha'Carri Richardson caught on video unleashing heated tirade at boyfriend during domestic violence arrest incident: ‘You're a coward'

Sha'Carri Richardson. Image via: Ashley Landis/ AP Newly released police bodycam footage has shed light on the July 27 arrest of Olympic gold medal sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson. The footage showed a tense verbal exchange with boyfriend and fellow U.S. track star Christian Coleman during an alleged domestic violence incident at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The reigning 100m world champion, 25, was booked on a fourth-degree domestic violence charge after authorities reviewed surveillance footage that appeared to show her shoving Coleman into a column and throwing an object at him. Arrest video shows Sha'Carri Richardson verbally attacking boyfriend amid tense domestic violence confrontation with police present In the video, Sha'Carri Richardson appears to react sharply when officers inform her they are investigating a possible assault. 'Oh Christian, I assaulted you? I assaulted you?' she says, before accusing Coleman of assaulting her. She later claims, 'I'm in a domestic violent relationship… I can show you proof!' While speaking on the phone during the encounter, Richardson declares, 'So this is the position that Christian Coleman puts me into. Because he's a coward and I don't want anything to do with him from this point going forward.' She also tells him directly, 'You're a coward!' Richardson denies striking Coleman, explaining to police that she only retrieved headphones that belonged to her. 'I haven't hit him with anything, not at all,' she insists. Yet, security footage reviewed by officers reportedly shows her blocking his path, shoving him into a wall, and tossing an item toward his head. When told she is under arrest, Richardson appears stunned: 'I'm under arrest right now? What for? Christian, are you serious right now? I didn't assault him, I didn't do anything wrong.' She is later seen asking officers, 'Who's going to bail me out?' before being taken into custody for more than 18 hours. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Learn 57+ Languages Easily with AI [Join] Talkpal AI Sign Up Undo Sha'Carri Richardson issued an apology to Christian Coleman Days after the footage surfaced, Richardson publicly apologized to Coleman on Instagram. 'I apologize to Christian. He came into my life & gave me more than a relationship but a greater understanding of unconditional love from what I've experienced in my past,' she wrote. Admitting past trauma had made her 'blind & blocked off' to giving and receiving love, she added, 'My apologize should be just as loud as my actions — honestly louder. ' Coleman, the 2019 100m world champion, has declined to press charges. Speaking to reporters, he called the situation 'sucky' but defended Richardson: 'I don't feel like she should have been arrested… She's a human being and a great person. We've been really good teammates all year.' He praised her prowess and talent, describing her as 'the best female athlete in the world' and expressing confidence she would 'bounce back.' Honour killing horror in UP: Teen beheaded for 'disgracing' family; father, stepmother, step-grandfather held

AGRA: A 19-year-old woman from Aligarh was allegedly killed and beheaded by her father, stepmother, and step-grandfather in Hathras for what police describe as an " honour killing " on suspicion of "disgracing" the family. The three accused were arrested on Wednesday. Hathras SP Chiranjeev Natha Singh said, "On Aug 10, residents of Bahradoi village in Sadabad police limits discovered a sack containing a headless body in a canal. The head was recovered shortly afterwards." Initial identification was not possible, prompting police to form five teams to track the victim's identity. Photographs of the victim's clothing were circulated on social media and via community policing networks. A breakthrough came when a woman recognised the stitching on the lower garment as her own work for a missing girl from Adhauna village in Aligarh's Akrabad area. The victim was identified as Tamanna, daughter of Hasrat Ali (40). Police said Ali married Firdos in 2005 and had two daughters - Tamanna and Nisha (16). Dissatisfied with having only daughters, he separated from Firdos six years ago but kept the girls with him. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Secure Your Child's Future with Strong English Fluency Planet Spark Learn More Undo He later married Rani (38), daughter of Rajjo Pehalwan (60) of Hathras. Investigations revealed that in July, Tamanna had left home with a man, a resident of the same village, but returned two days later. This angered Ali and Rani, who scolded and beat her. On Aug 8, she left again but was intercepted by Ali and Rani near Panaithi bridge. Believing she was "defaming" the family, Ali allegedly discussed the matter with his father-in-law, Rajjo, who advised "dealing with it" immediately. That night, the couple took Tamanna to Rajjo's house in Alhaipur on a motorcycle. There, the three allegedly laced her food with intoxicants, strangled her when she became unconscious, and took her to the canal. Police say Ali then severed her head and inflicted multiple injuries on the body to hinder identification, while the others held her down. Her clothes were also deliberately disturbed to mislead investigators. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
