Performance in spotlight on the eve of new BJP govt.'s 100 days in power

The Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took potshots at each other on Thursday ahead of the Capital marking 100 days under the new government.
AAP released a 'report card' on the government's 100 days in power, criticising it for alleged power outages, rising private school fees, and failure to deliver the promised ₹2,500 monthly allowance to women until now. Hitting back, the BJP accused AAP of leaving behind '10 years of misgovernance' and claimed that in its first 100 days, the government has restored public trust by issuing Ayushman Bharat cards, announcing a ₹1-lakh-crore annual budget, and creating a 'positive image through responsive governance'.
Addressing a press conference, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, said, 'Tomorrow marks 100 days of the BJP's government in Delhi. The people gave them a mandate to work for citizens, but in just 100 days, the BJP has made life hell for Delhiites.'
She claimed that rather than improving the system, the BJP dismantled the functional services that had been running smoothly for the past 10 years. Ms. Atishi alleged that the BJP government had damaged Delhi's power infrastructure, leading to frequent and prolonged power cuts.'
People now expect outages every time the temperature rises or there is a thunderstorm. Is this really the national capital? Are we living in 2025? The BJP has raised power tariffs by 7–15%. From next month, people will start getting inflated bills,' she said.
'Proactive approach'
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that while 100 days is a short time to evaluate a new government, it is long enough to establish a clear contrast with AAP's decade in power.
'The greatest achievement of Rekha Gupta's government is its proactive approach. Unlike Arvind Kejriwal, who resorted to blame games, the BJP government is addressing the concerns of Delhiites. Her work is becoming her identity,' he said.
Mr. Sachdeva said the government's achievements included issuing Ayushman Bharat cards, allocating funds for new sewage treatment plants to clean the Yamuna river, deploying 400 Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector buses, installing GPS tracking to monitor water supply to slums, and developing Ayushman Arogya Mandirs for free medicines and health check-ups.
