
Shakira, Don Omar, Peso Pluma to Perform at Chicago's Sueños Music Festival
The weekend event will return to Grant Park, in the heart of Downtown Chicago, on May 24 and 25.
Argentine pop star Maria Becerra is set to play on Saturday with Shakira as a headliner.
Peso Pluma is billed as a special performer with a lineup that also includes Nsqk, El Alfa, Oscar Mayadon, Arcangel, Dei V, El Malilla, DJ Luian, Caleb Calloway, Regaetonlandia, Chan and DJ Fredy Fresco.
Tejano stars Grupo Frontera will be performing a special set on Sunday, with Don Omar as a headliner, and additional sets from Jhayco, Tito Double P, Omar Courtz, Wisin, Kapo, Deorro, Bellakath, Gonzy, LegallyRxx, Sorry Pap, Victor Cardenas, Dynamiqo and 3BallMty.
Passes for Sueños are available to purchase starting February 6 at 12 p.m. CT. Packages include GA, GA+, VIP, and ultra-VIP El Sueño.
Sueños has been active for four years and is quickly becoming an institution in the Chicago community.
The Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners in July unanimously approved a contract that will see Sueños return to Grant Park for the next five years, with an option to extend the deal for five more.

Ricky Martin to Make History at 2025 MTV VMAs
Yara Sameh Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actor Ricky Martin will make MTV VMAs history by becoming the first ever artist to receive the annual show's Latin Icon award. The 2025 ceremony is set to air live on CBS September 7. Lady Gaga is the frontrunner for awards, as the singer racked up a leading 12 nods in nominations. Gaga's dozen nominations are followed by 11 for Bruno Mars, 10 for Kendrick Lamar, eight apiece for Sabrina Carpenter and Rose, and seven each for Ariana Grande and the Weeknd. The show will air live in all time zones on Sept. 7, starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT. Video: Sawiris criticizes unofficial promo for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum
Businessman Naguib Sawiris criticized an unofficial video promoting the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). The promo, generated using Artificial Intelligence, features a host of stars, including Yousra, Karim Abdel-Aziz, Mona Zaki, and Nelly Karim, in addition to the Egyptian international football superstar Mohamed Salah and Argentine legend Lionel Messi. The Egyptian Cabinet announced that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi approved the opening date of the Grand Egyptian Museum, set for November 1.
