Ashi Singh
's much-awaited return to the small screen. In an exclusive conversation with Times of India TV, Ashi opened up about her hiatus, explaining that she chose to step back as the right kind of roles were not coming her way.
"I was working on other projects and in TV I did not actually get anything very interesting. Whatever shows were offered to me, I didn't like them that much that I wanted to do them," Ashi shared candidly. "I know there is a lot of content on TV which I might not want to do and I am not comfortable doing. But then whatever work I have done, I really found it very good. Whatever characters I got on TV, I know that people don't get to do in films.
So I feel and consider myself to be very lucky that way."
For Ashi, television has always been a medium that has given her substantial characters. "So for me, TV was never down or up. It was always here, it got me whatever I have."
Now back with Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, Ashi plays Kairi Sharma, a spirited and ambitious young woman from a middle-class Delhi family, who aspires to become a lawyer while staying true to her family values. On why she said yes to the show, Ashi said, 'My character and definitely the take of the story which is quite different. We are trying that it should be interestingly different with emotions, fun, conflict, love, and family drama, so every age group can connect to the show.
'
Starring opposite Shabir Ahluwalia, who plays the complex Yug, Ashi's return promises a refreshing on-screen dynamic and an emotionally rich storyline for audiences to enjoy.

Ashi Singh on the first monsoon showers amidst her shoot for Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil; says ‘it feels like the world slows down for a moment'
The arrival of monsoon always brings along a refreshing change — the scent of wet earth, the cool breeze, and a touch of nostalgia. For television actress Ashi Singh , the first rain of the season turned into an unforgettable experience as she witnessed it while shooting for her show Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil. Currently portraying the role of Kairi, a young and ambitious lawyer opposite Shabir Ahluwalia's Yug, Ashi's on-screen chemistry has already become a talking point among fans. Recalling the magical moment, Ashi shared, 'There's something very pure about the first rain — it feels like the world slows down for a moment. The first rain instantly transports me to my childhood — those carefree days of dancing in the rain, paper boats, and mom scolding me for getting drenched. There's something magical about Mumbai monsoons.' Interestingly, the showers arrived just as Ashi was shooting an outdoor scene. 'This time we were shooting outdoors for Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil when the drizzle started. I couldn't help but just soak in the joy of the first rain. I loved the beautiful fragrance of the wet earth, and everything around just paused for a moment,' she said. Drawing parallels with her character, Ashi added, 'It reminded me so much of my character Kairi. She finds beauty in the simplest things, and I think that's what makes her special. I'm someone who absolutely loves chai, music, and the smell of wet earth — and when all of that came together on a shoot day, it just felt surreal. It's one of those moments you want to relive again and again.'
