Glasgow park in line to receive new entrance and path
A total of £400,000 is to be spent on the green space, which has had problems with anti-social behaviour, if councillors approve plans this week. The park is a small remnant of a huge Glasgow site, which hosted the Garden Festival in 1988, and attracted millions of visitors to the city. The money for the investment in the park would be spent on the 'creation of an additional entrance to the park with new path and tree management to increase visibility and safety and associated biodiversity enhancements', according to a report. READ MORE: Raging shoppers threaten to boycott Tesco as meal deal prices rise Welcoming potential improvements, Govan Scottish Greens councillor Dan Hutchison said: 'Festival Park is a wonderful refuge in nature that our community loves. With its thick tree cover and winding path – it can feel unsafe and at night. This additional investment and the creation of a new entrance should make it more accessible and safely increase the through traffic, especially from Cessnock and Kinning Park through to the Clyde.' A total of £200,000 would come from the Scottish Government's Place Fund and the other half of the cash from the Feminist Action Fund. Among other potential projects to benefit from Glasgow's £2.24 million Place Fund are the part pedestrianisation of Letherby Triangle. Battlefield Rest is also set to be pedestrianised and see a public realm transformation. Another proposal would see lighting replaced on the South Portland Street Suspension Bridge to improve the safety and security of people walking across the Clyde. Work is also to take place on the south bank of the river at Carlton Place to clear overgrown areas and improve the riverbank. Councillors sitting on the City Administration Committee will decide whether to accept the Scottish Government's Place Fund grant offer this week. They will also vote on accepting the projects proposed for the cash to be spent on.

Tesco F&F's 'flattering' £16 waistcoat looks 'chic' and 'timeless' for autumn
Tesco F&F's 'flattering' £16 waistcoat looks 'chic' and 'timeless' for autumn The supermarket's brand is a popular choice for fashion fans, and a new autumn style has caught attention The new style is a hit with shoppers (Image: Tesco) Tesco's F&F is offering a 'chic' and 'timeless' waistcoat that's 'easy to style' for autumn. The supermarket's range is a hit with customers, who flock to the retailer for budget-friendly fashion and accessories. The new £16 Sleeveless Two Button Waistcoat could be another hit. One shopper even thinks the top looks like it could be from a designer brand. With four colours on offer, this new top could be just the ticket for those looking to refresh their autumn wardrobe. Highlighting the style on TikTok, @ showcased the waistcoat top. It's available in cream, brown, khaki, and black, reports the Mirror. The shopper praised: "Tell me why these F&F waistcoat-style tops look like designer without the designer price tag." The caption added: "Chic, timeless, and so easy to style." As shown in the video, it's a sleeveless top with two gold buttons that add a touch of glamour to the waistcoat. The design is understated yet elegant, and it would be easy to pair with autumn essentials such as jeans, cigarette trousers, and midi skirts. The £16 top is available online and in-store in sizes 6 to 22. The product description says: "Designed with a flattering V neckline and eye-catching gold-tone buttons, this waistcoat is a chic addition to your dressed-up wardrobe. Wear this sleeveless style with high-waisted jeans and ballet pumps for an elevated weekend look, or wide-leg trousers and chunky loafers for work events." It is suitable for machine washing at 40C, but it is not suitable for tumble drying or dry cleaning. There aren't any reviews for the style online yet. For those interested in the top, Tesco's standard courier delivery is £3.99, while the express courier delivery fee is £5.50. Elsewhere, fashion fans have fallen for a 'stunning' £24 top from Sainsbury's Tu. The supermarket's Denim Gingham Bow Tie Blouse wowed social media users. Shoppers loved the look, and someone compared the style to those offered by a pricier label. TU new in is giving autumn vibes and I am here for it!"
