The Arab League calls on the world to compel Israel to halt its aggression

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories) commemorates the 58th anniversary of the Naksa (Naksa), which marked a tragic turning point in the Arab-Israeli conflict following the 1967 Israeli aggression, which resulted in the occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
The Arab League affirmed that the repercussions of this aggression continue to this day and are clearly evident in the bloody war waged by Israel against the Palestinian people for more than 600 days, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where the attacks have resulted in the deaths of more than 200,000 people, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to the forced displacement of approximately two million Palestinians.
The League warned against the escalation of the occupation's expansionist colonial policies and its grave violations of international law and international humanitarian law, including through illegal settlement construction, the demolition of homes, the confiscation of land, attacks on holy sites, and the imposition of a financial and political blockade on the Palestinian Authority.
The General Secretariat reiterated its call for the international community to implement relevant UN resolutions, most notably Resolutions 242 and 338, and to compel Israel to halt its aggression, open the crossings immediately, allow unimpeded humanitarian aid, and provide the necessary support to UNRWA.
It also called for effective international action to end the occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish their independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative.
The General Secretariat emphasized the importance of participating in the international peace conference scheduled to be held this month in New York, calling on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take this step in support of the two-state solution and to ensure peace and stability in the region.

42 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in Gaza Strip
CAIRO – 6 June 2025: 42 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip on Friday according to Palestinian media reports. An Israeli fighter jet struck a five-story residential building in Jabalia, northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to dozens more. According to medical sources, three Palestinians were also killed and others wounded after an Israeli combat drone targeted a charging point for cell phones between tents sheltering displaced people to the west of Khan Younis, WAFA reported. A child was also shot dead by Israeli troops near the Al-Saraya detention area in Khan Younis. Another civilian succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous Israeli strike on the city. Israeli strikes have also killed one Palestinian in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis. In addition, eight Palestinians were killed and 61 injured in renewed massacres in Rafah City in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday. The victims were targeted while trying to reach recently established humanitarian aid sites in western Rafah on the first day of Eid Al Adha. Earlier Friday, 10 Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli raid on homes in Jabalia. They were taken to the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.

UN Member States to Adopt Voluntary Political Declaration to Solve Marine Crisis
Rana Atef More than 2,000 scientists and advocates from at least 100 countries participated in the One Ocean Science Congress, dedicated to the increasing marine crisis. 'The ocean is suffering at the cause of humanity,' said the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, who spoke at the opening ceremony on Tuesday. She added, 'Either we save our oceans or the entire race will pay.' Rising sea temperatures due to global warming, ocean acidification, plastic pollution, and offshore oil and gas developments are some of the threats plaguing the ocean. 'Sound research shows global human health is intrinsically linked to a healthy ocean,' said Peter Thomson, the United Nations secretary-general's special envoy for the ocean. The ocean greatly contributes to producing more than half of the oxygen humans breathe, in addition to balancing Earth temperatures by absorbing excess heat and carbon dioxide. 3 billion people depend on the ocean for their daily activities, according to the United Nations. But, at the congress's opening ceremony, Thomson said, 'the ocean's health is currently, measurably in decline.' Now is the time to chart a new future for the ocean, he said. 'Faith has been placed upon this congress to serve as the scientific pillar of the U.N. Ocean Conference,' said Thomson. He added: 'We're expecting that the scientifically compiled conclusions of this congress will inform the leaders and the representatives of governments and civil society who will be attending the conference.'
