In a heartfelt revelation that has added fuel to swirling rumors about her relationship with Tom Cruise, Ana de Armas recently opened up about her desire to start a family. The Cuban-Spanish actress, known for her fierce performances and striking vulnerability on screen, told F Magazine , 'Yes, I would like to have children and a family, soon if possible.' But, she added with poignant realism, 'It doesn't just depend on me. As we know, love is unpredictable. You never know when true love will come. Relationships can't be controlled: life is not a movie.'
Yet, as life imitates art, her real-life narrative has all the markings of a dramatic romance. The Ballerina star has been seen on multiple occasions with Tom Cruise, sparking speculation about a blossoming love affair. From helicopter rides to dinner dates in London ahead of Ana's 37th birthday, the duo's quiet appearances have spoken louder than any official confirmation.
De Armas' yearning for motherhood isn't just about starting a family—it's rooted in her instinct to protect. 'I feel an immense instinct to protect children,' she said, 'because they are defenseless and innocent beings who need adults to feel safe.' Her words speak to a deep emotional preparedness for the journey of parenthood, but one grounded in the awareness that it takes partnership and timing.
In recent interviews, Ana has been candid about how misunderstood age-related expectations for women can be. Her longing for a child, coupled with her views on love, present a picture of someone grounded in hope, not fantasy. 'Many men have told me I have puppy dog eyes,' she mused in The Daily Mail . 'I give the impression of being a sweet and innocent creature, but then they're surprised, because deep down…pure and wild passion governs my choices.'

While Cruise and de Armas haven't confirmed their relationship, industry insiders have hinted that their bond has been growing steadily. A Blast report suggests that the duo was introduced by Penélope Cruz, who reportedly spoke highly of both. Since then, Tom Cruise has publicly praised Ana's performance in Ballerina , calling it 'incredible' at the Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning London premiere. 'It just kicks -ss,' he said, 'You're going to love it.'
Ana has also confirmed that she is working on multiple projects with Cruise and directors Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie. 'It's not just one, but a few projects,' she teased on Good Morning America , hinting at a deepening professional and perhaps personal bond between the two. Yet, unlike her past relationships, Ana is taking a more guarded approach to her rumored romance with Cruise. Her brief but public relationship with Ben Affleck in 2020, and the intense scrutiny it brought, left a lasting impression. The same applies to her short-lived romance in 2024 with Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba's president. The experience shaped her decision to keep her private life as protected as possible. Ana's previous relationship with Ben Affleck was marked by deep affection, but also irreconcilable differences. According to a PEOPLE report from 2021, Ana's desire to have children became a key point of divergence. 'She broke it off,' the source said. 'Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn't want to be Los Angeles-based and Ben has to since his kids live in Los Angeles.' Affleck, already a father of three, wasn't ready for more children—a dealbreaker for Ana. Despite the split, sources close to the couple insisted it ended with mutual respect. 'They are both happy with where they are in their lives,' one insider said at the time.
Ana's acting career continues to scale new heights. Her acclaimed portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Netflix's Blonde won her admiration from the Monroe estate itself. Marc Rosen, President of Entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, praised her ability to embody Monroe's glamour, vulnerability, and enduring legacy. 'She knows she has big shoes to fill,' Rosen said, 'and she does so with grace.' For Ana, every role is not just a performance—it's an immersion, a commitment to living fully. As she once said, 'I want to live every moment to the fullest.' That mantra seems to echo through her personal life as well—whether it's flying under the radar with Cruise or dreaming of a future filled with love and children.

Jeff Bezos' biological dad did not know he had become a billionaire until 2012: ‘I wasn't a very good father'

Jeff Bezos' statement on the death of his mother has offered a rare glimpse into the private life of the billionaire. Jacklyn 'Jackie' Bezos died on August 14 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. In a statement shared on Instagram, Bezos recalled how, a few years after his birth, his mother met and fell in love with Miguel 'Mike' Bezos – the man who would go on to adopt Jeff and raise him as his son. Jeff Bezos was born to Jacklyn and Ted Jorgensen in 1964(AFP) 'For nearly 60 years, Jackie and Mike built a life grounded in love, mutual respect and shared joy,' the statement read. 'Through every chapter-challenges and triumphs alike their devotion to one another never wavered. Their bond was a source of strength to their family and a beautiful example of enduring love.' (Also read: Jeff Bezos announces mother's death, wife Lauren Sanchez drops a comment) Jeff Bezos' biological father Jeff Bezos' biological father, Ted Jorgensen, did not find a mention in his post. This in itself is unsurprising, because Jorgensen and Jacklyn divorced when Jeff was just 17 months old. Jorgensen did not keep in touch with the family. In fact, according to a Benzinga report, he did not even know that Jeff Bezos had become a billionaire founder of Amazon until Brad Stone, the author of "The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and Amazon," tracked him down in 2012. For his part, Bezos, 61, has maintained that he considers Mike to be his natural father in every sense that matters. In a 1999 interview with Wired, reported by Business Insider, Bezos said, "The reality, as far as I'm concerned, is that my dad is my natural father. The only time I ever think about [my biological father] is when a doctor asks me to fill out a form." Jacklyn gave birth to Jeff Bezos when she was just 17 years old. Jeff's father was 19-year-old Ted Jorgensen, a teenage unicyclist. Jeff Bezos' adoptive father In his book The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and Amazon, Brad Stone said that Jorgensen struggled with alcohol. Soon after Jeff's birth, Jacklyn left him and went back to live with her parents. The couple divorced when Jeff was just 17 months old. Despite being a young and single mother, Jacklyn completed her education and attended night school, often bringing baby Jeff to classes. She later married Mike Bezos, a Cuban immigrant who adopted Jeff when he was four years old and gave him his surname. Ted Jorgensen didn't know his son became a billionaire Ted Jorgensen only learned that his son had grown up to be Jeff Bezos when Brad Stone tracked him down in 2012. Stone found him at a small bicycle shop in Glendale, Arizona in 2012. When Stone told him, 'Your son is one of the most successful men on the planet', Jorgensen was shocked. He did not even recognise the name Bezos. 'I wasn't a good father or a good husband,' he admitted, according to a Page Six article. 'I didn't know where he was, if he had a good job or not, or if he was alive or dead.' 'I used to wonder all the time though whatever happened to Jeff. Then I just reached a point where I thought he was long gone. That was the only child I ever had – that makes a difference too. The last time I saw him he was in diapers,' Jorgensen said. 'I had a number, but Jeff's mother asked me not to interfere so I didn't want to call.' Jorgensen later expressed a desire to meet his son. However, that meeting never happened. He died in 2015.
