Sharing details of the bridge, the Indian Railways said, "A 100m long, 1,400-tonne 'Make in India' steel bridge has been launched over DFC tracks near Bharuch for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. This is the 8th of 17 such bridges in Gujarat marking a major leap in high-speed Rail infrastructure." The bridge is launched using 84 meter-long launching nose, which weighs around 600 metric tons.
The NHSRCL said that the fabrication of the bridge was done in Trichy. "As the 8th of 28 'Make in India' steel bridges planned along the bullet train corridor, it reflects precision engineering—from fabrication in Trichy to phased launching over active freight lines," it said.

"The fabrication utilized approx. 55,300 Nos. of Tor-Shear Type High Strength (TTHS) bolts with C5 system painting and elastomeric bearings being designed for a 100-year lifespan. The bridge was assembled at the site at a height of 18 m from the ground on temporary trestles and was pulled with automatic mechanism of 2 semi-automatic jacks, each of capacity of 250 tons using mac-alloy bars," said the Ministry of Railways.

Earlier, the NHSRCL shared a video of the construction of the Vapi Bullet Train station. It said that the station features 'bold design' showing 'pulse of the progress'. The Indian Railways also shared a video in April showing progress work - from foundational work to finishing touches - of the Bilimora Bullet Train Station in Gujarat.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had earlier said that the work on the BKC station in Mumbai, the origin station for the bullet train, has been progressing rapidly. "It will be built above a multistorey building. It has 3 basements. This is becoming a world-class station. The tunnel work is also progressing quickly," said Vaishnaw.

Indian Railways on May 21 shared that 300 km of the bullet train viaduct was completed with the launch of a box girder near Surat. "India's first bullet train project achieves a major milestone! Construction of a 300 km viaduct successfully completed with the launch of a 40-meter full-span box girder near Surat," it said.
Progress Updates Of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project
* More than 3 lakh noise barriers have been installed along the viaducts to mitigate noise during operations.

Cabinet nod to Rs 8,300cr Bhubaneswar bypass road project; to ease congestion on NH-16
Bhubaneswar: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved the construction of a six-lane access-controlled 'Capital Region Ring Road' — Bhubaneswar bypass stretching 110.875km — at a total cost of Rs 8,307.74 crore. Disclosing the Cabinet decision, information and broadcasting minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the bypass road was a long-pending demand to ease traffic congestion on NH-16 between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, part of the Golden Quadrilateral project. "It's a very important project and part of the Prime Minister's Purvodaya vision," the minister said, adding it will be a very modern project, with construction to be completed in two and a half years. The project cost includes the repair and maintenance cost for 15 years. CM Mohan Charan Majhi said, "The landmark infrastructure project will significantly strengthen connectivity, decongest major urban centres, enhance logistics efficiency, and open new avenues for economic growth and prosperity in Odisha and the eastern region." The project will be executed in the hybrid annuity mode (HAM), which is a public-private model in which the govt pays 40% of the cost during the construction phase while the developer invests the remaining 60%. The govt repays the 60% cost with interest over a period of 15-20 years after the completion of the project as annuity payments, and the developer doesn't collect tolls. Toll collection from projects developed under HAM is the responsibility of the govt. Currently, connectivity between Rameshwar and Tangi on the NH-16 experiences significant congestion due to the high traffic volumes passing through the highly urbanised cities of Khurda, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. To address these challenges, the project is proposed to be developed as a six-lane greenfield highway. The project will provide significant benefits to Odisha and other eastern states by diverting heavy commercial traffic away from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda on the Kolkata-Chennai corridor. It will enhance the efficiency of freight movement, reducing logistics costs and driving socio-economic growth in the region. The project alignment integrates with three major national highways (NH-55 connecting Sambalpur and Cuttack, the Balangir-Khurda NH-57, and Angul-Athagarh-Krushnashyampur NH-655) and state highway (SH-65), which connects Narasinghpur with Athagarh. The ring road will provide seamless connectivity to key economic, social and logistics nodes across Odisha. Additionally, the upgraded corridor will enhance multi-modal integration by connecting with 10 economic nodes, 4 social nodes, and 5 logistic nodes, providing enhanced multimodality with Khurda Road railway station, Bhubaneswar airport, and the proposed multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) at Paradip, besides the proposed Astarang port, thereby facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers across the region. The project will also generate around 74.43 lakh person-days of direct and 93.04 lakh person-days of indirect employment. Upon completion, the bypass will play a pivotal role in regional economic growth, strengthening connectivity between major religious and economic centres and opening new avenues for trade and industrial development and prosperity in the surrounding regions. Centre approves ₹9,814 crore infra push with airport, ring road projects in Rajasthan, Odisha
New Delhi: The Cabinet on Tuesday cleared two major infrastructure projects worth ₹ 9,814 crore, approving the development of a greenfield airport at Kota-Bundi in Rajasthan and the construction of a six-lane capital region Ring Road in Odisha, signalling a strong push towards regional connectivity and industrial growth. 'The new Kota-Bundi airport, estimated at ₹ 1,507 crore, will be developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on 440 hectares of land already transferred by the Rajasthan government,' said Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union minister for information and broadcasting, while elaborating about the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting. As per Vaishnaw, the facility, with a 3,200-metre runway, seven aircraft bays, and a 20,000-square-metre terminal building, is designed to handle two million domestic and international passengers annually and will be completed in two years. It will be capable of operating A-321-type aircraft and will also cater to cargo traffic, giving a boost to Kota's industrial base and its position as India's leading coaching hub. The new facility will replace the existing Kota airport, which has limited capacity due to its small size and surrounding urbanization. 'The expansion of aviation infrastructure in smaller industrial hubs is critical to ensuring balanced regional growth,' Vaishnaw said, noting that the new airport could also help attract fresh investments in manufacturing and services in the region. India's aviation network has expanded sharply, with the number of operational airports rising from 74 in 2014 to 162 in 2025. Annual passenger traffic has more than doubled from 16.8 crore to 41.2 crore over the same period, the minister said. The second project is the ₹ 8,307 crore Capital Region Ring Road in Odisha. Extending 110.9 km, the six-lane access-controlled corridor will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model. It aims to divert commercial traffic from the congested Rameshwar-Tangi stretch, which passes through Khordha, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The alignment will integrate with three national highways and one state highway, connecting 10 economic nodes, including a Special Economic Zone, a mega food park, textile and pharma clusters and four social nodes covering aspirational and tribal districts. The project is expected to generate nearly 1.7 crore person-days of direct and indirect employment. 'This is the largest project in Odisha. It will give a fillip to logistics and connectivity,' he said. Both projects are part of the government's strategy to accelerate infrastructure development in eastern and northern India, balancing the growth seen in western and southern regions.
