Taylor Swift reveals 12th album on Podcast
Swift, who had teased fans with cryptic Instagram posts on Monday, appeared in a short clip released just after midnight New York time on Tuesday, in which she is seen pulling a vinyl record from a briefcase.
"So I wanted to show you something," she says in the video. "This is my brand new album." An official release date has not yet been announced. The full podcast episode is scheduled to air on Wednesday (today).
The appearance marks one of Swift's few on "New Heights," which has risen in popularity partly due to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce. The show ranked as the 10th most popular podcast in the US during the second quarter of 2025, according to Edison Research.
The announcement comes more than a year after the release of Swift's 11th album, which topped global charts and boosted revenue for Republic Records, one of Universal Music Group's (UMG) key labels.
UMG, the world's largest music company, is banking on blockbuster artists like Swift to lift sales after reporting lower-than-expected second-quarter earnings, with merchandise revenue under pressure.
In May, Swift concluded a long-running dispute with her former label, Big Machine Label Group, by regaining the rights to her first six albums. Her re-recorded versions of those works have garnered strong fan support, further cementing her influence in the music industry.

Margaret Qualley deflects Taylor Swift album question amid Jack Antonoff collaboration speculation
On August 13, 2025, Today Show viewers witnessed an awkward moment when actress Margaret Qualley deflected a question about Taylor Swift's upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Host Craig Melvin asked if she could share anything about the project, to which Qualley, 30, smiled, laughed, and replied, 'I don't know anything, but we'll all be excited to listen to the music.' Qualley, married to Swift's longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, has been part of the pop star's circle for years. She and Antonoff tied the knot in August 2023, with Swift among the star-studded wedding guests. Speaking to Cosmopolitan for its Fall 2025 issue, Qualley praised her husband, saying he's 'been the person I've pictured my whole life' and noting their relationship is grounded in authenticity. Her comment on Today came amid growing speculation that Antonoff may not have worked on The Life of a Showgirl. Fans pointed to a Spotify playlist Swift posted on August 11, featuring 22 tracks produced only by Max Martin and Shellback. The playlist, titled 'And, baby, that's show business for you,' notably omitted Antonoff's previous collaborations and fueled theories of a creative shift toward a synth-pop sound. Although Antonoff has co-produced several of Swift's acclaimed albums — including 1989, Reputation, Folklore, and Midnights — he has also described their partnership as having 'its own language.' In a 2024 interview, he called Swift 'the absolute greatest of all time' and praised her ability to push creative boundaries. Swift, in turn, has credited Antonoff's enthusiasm for songwriting as 'contagious' and central to their work. Whether Antonoff's absence from the new album is confirmed or not, Qualley's lighthearted deflection keeps the mystery alive — and fans eager for answers.

The landing page featured a door image from the Eras Tour, and as the timer ran down, four color-coded locked boxes appeared — sparking speculation that each represented a different vinyl edition. This was followed by Spotify billboards in major cities promoting a playlist titled 'And, baby, that's show business for you,' containing 22 Swift tracks produced by Martin and Shellback, hinting at their creative role in the new album. Things we learned from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast conversation
Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce shared personal stories, career parallels, and new music details during a lengthy episode of the New Heights podcast, which Kelce co-hosts with his brother Jason. Swift recalled how Kelce first expressed interest in dating her on the podcast after failing to meet her at an Eras Tour show. She described his direct approach as a 'wild, romantic gesture' reminiscent of an '80s movie scene, calling him 'a human exclamation point.' Despite normally avoiding unsolicited messages, she said his openness intrigued her. The couple also discussed managing intense public scrutiny, with Swift noting her two decades in the industry have made her resilient, while Kelce said he learned professionalism from her when facing 'wacko theories.' Both compared the physical demands of their careers, with Swift training for her three-hour Eras Tour shows by running full speed on a treadmill while singing. She noted the constant discomfort, blisters, and need for recovery routines—parallels Kelce recognized from professional football. A major focus was Swift's decade-long effort to reclaim her master recordings, sold without her consent. She said she had been saving since her teens and sent her mother and brother to negotiate directly with Shamrock Capital. When they succeeded, she collapsed in tears, describing the albums as her 'handwritten diary entries.' Swift also discussed her use of musical 'Easter eggs,' stressing they always connect to her work, not her personal life. She revealed that her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, out 3 October, is inspired by behind-the-scenes moments from the Eras Tour. Kelce described the record as 'upbeat' and a sharp contrast to The Tortured Poets Department. The episode closed on a lighter note, with the couple sharing their 'sourdough obsession' and Kelce's fascination with otters.
