Cameron Boyce's mom reacts to Adam Sandler's emotional tribute

Adam Sandler continues to honor the memory of his late Grown Ups co-star Cameron Boyce, with a subtle but heartfelt tribute in his latest Netflix film Happy Gilmore 2. After fans spotted the nod—a quick background clip of Boyce from one of his Disney Channel shows—Cameron's mother, Libby Boyce, shared an emotional reaction on Instagram. 'Adam always finds a way to keep Cam's memory alive, which warms our heart,' Libby wrote on July 27. She also reflected on the close bond between Sandler and her son, recalling that the two were in regular contact before Cameron's unexpected death in 2019 due to a seizure at age 20. 'Cameron was supposed to be in Hubie Halloween, and they were strategizing,' she said. 'They had a bond rooted in authenticity, humor, and keeping it real.' This is not the first time Sandler has honored Boyce. In Hubie Halloween (2020), the credits featured a tribute message: 'In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE... You live on forever in our hearts.' Libby Boyce continues to share memories of her son with fans, recently posting a photo of him dancing. 'He felt dance on a deep level,' she noted, recalling his joy. Sandler's ongoing tributes are a testament to Cameron's lasting impact and the deep friendships he formed in Hollywood.

Jacob Elordi is too beautiful to play Frankenstein's monster

Jacob Elordi is not your typical Frankenstein's monster. Towering, sculptural, and unnervingly serene, he's the centrepiece of Guillermo del Toro's dark, operatic take on the classic tale. Shot on a lavish soundstage built to resemble a crumbling European reliquary, the film reimagines Mary Shelley's myth as a story of broken fatherhood, spiritual neglect, and monstrous beauty. Del Toro, now 60, has long described Frankenstein as his dream project. 'This is the one,' he reportedly said during filming. 'This is the one I want to leave behind.' The set was both a mausoleum and a theatre, a water tower transformed into a vertical cathedral of rotting cadavers and cryogenic tubes, all designed to hold the grief and grandeur of Viktor Frankenstein's ambition. Oscar Isaac plays the guilt-soaked doctor with surgical detachment, performing brutal limb-sawing rituals while muttering apologies to the dead. Mia Goth, as a mysterious woman with her own stake in the experiment, watches silently. But it's Elordi who transforms the film's gothic gloom into myth. Covered in prosthetics designed by Mike Hill, he emerges not as a patchwork freak, but as something divine and defiled, a man sculpted by agony. Del Toro reportedly directed Elordi to perform 'like he's praying,' insisting the monster's sorrow should be sacred, not savage. The result is a creature less enraged and more abandoned, quietly asking the question at the heart of the film: why would a father create life only to reject it? With glowing references to religious art, Shelley's original novel, and even del Toro's own Pinocchio, this is less a monster movie and more a bruised meditation on legacy. And Elordi, beautiful, broken, benched under candlelight, may be its most devastating creation yet. Frankenstein arrives on Netflix this November.

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan takes the lead in BBC's boldest series yet

Nicola Coughlan is stepping into a deeply personal spotlight as she joins BBC's critically acclaimed anthology series I Am…, known for giving actresses creative control over their characters and stories. The Bridgerton and Derry Girls star will write and headline her own standalone episode, continuing the series' tradition of emotionally intense, women-led narratives. First launched in 2019, I Am… features a unique format where each episode is co-written by the lead actress and centres exclusively on her character's inner world. Previous seasons have seen powerhouse performances from Kate Winslet, Letitia Wright and Gemma Chan. Winslet even took home a BAFTA for her deeply affecting role, a precedent that places Coughlan in esteemed company. This casting marks another milestone in Coughlan's streak of women-driven projects. While she gained mainstream attention as the witty Penelope Featherington in Netflix's Bridgerton, her sharp comedic turn in Derry Girls and appearance in Barbie have showcased her versatility. Her upcoming I Am… role promises a more intimate and dramatic shift, one shaped by her own voice. Joining her in the upcoming season is Joe Cole, best known for playing John Shelby in Peaky Blinders. Cole has also earned acclaim in Gangs of London, bringing gritty intensity to every role. Their addition signals a high-calibre season ahead. The series is the brainchild of Dominic Savage, who both created and writes it. Known for his emotionally raw storytelling, Savage has long championed narratives that blur the line between fiction and lived experience. The new season will once again be produced by Krishnendu Majumdar and backed by Me+You Productions. As anticipation builds, Coughlan's involvement already has fans curious about the story she'll choose to tell. With the actress helping shape her own narrative, expectations are high for something fearless and resonant.
