'Transformation to Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development in the Industrial Sector' workshop to be held by NIPA

Libya Herald31-07-2025
SZ-31/07/25
The National Industry Promotion Authority (NIPA) announced yesterday that it intends to hold a workshop entitled 'Transformation to Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development in the Industrial Sector', in line with paragraph (11) of Article (3) of Resolution No. (311) of 2012 regarding the establishment of the NIPA. NIPA has not yet announced the place or date of this workshop.
This stipulates that NIPA assists industrial projects in the fields of renewal, innovation and technological development, within the framework of rational environmental practices and promoting a culture of quality and sustainability.‎
NIPA says the workshop comes as part of its constant endeavour to promote the concepts of sustainable development and move towards a green economy and environmentally friendly industry,
‎Reducing waste at source
CNIPA said cleaner Production is an integrated environmental and strategic approach applied to industrial processes, products and services, with the aim of reducing waste and pollution from the source, not just treating them after formation. This approach is based on increasing the efficiency of the use of raw materials, reducing energy and water consumption, while reducing environmental impacts and improving economic performance.‎
‎Best Local Product Award
In this context, and as part of its efforts to stimulate the national industrial sector, the Authority announces the establishment of the Best Local Product Award for National Industries for the second year in a row.
This aims to encourage industrial excellence and enhance competitiveness, as a strong incentive to raise the level of local production in Libya and stimulate projects to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly production practices.‎ The target sectors of the award will be determined later.‎ Tags: National Industry Promotion Authority NIPA

Huge call made on James Tedesco as Kevin Walters drops hint about Kangaroos recall

James Tedesco has strengthened his case to reclaim the Kangaroos' No.1 jersey off Dylan Edwards after another stunning performance for the Roosters in Friday night's statement win over the Bulldogs. Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters admitted that Tedesco was very much in the frame to earn a Test recall for this year's Ashes series against England, and agreed with NRL great Cooper Cronk that the Roosters skipper is the favourite to win this year's Dally M Medal. Daniel Tupou's hat-trick of tries and a double for Roosters teammate Naufahu Whyte grabbed the headlines in the Chooks' shock 32-12 thumping of the high-flying Dogs at Allianz Stadium on Friday night. But Tedesco was sensational again in the big win that lifted the Roosters into seventh on the ladder and maintained their charge towards the NRL finals. Tedesco had a whopping 31 runs for a game-high 215 run metres, with nine tackle busts and a try assist thrown in for good measure. Discussing Tedesco's performance after the game on Fox League's coverage, Bulldogs star James Graham asked Walters if Tedesco was 'back in the frame' to be selected in the Kangaroos' Ashes squad for the three-Test series against England later this year. And the response from Australia's coach was telling. "Well he's never out of the frame in rep football, he played one Origin game this year," Walters said after Tedesco's superb game for the Roosters. "Yeah he's certainly thereabouts... to me, whatever jersey he has on he just plays well and he plays like a leader and that's what you need." The Kangaroos coach said it was impossible to ignore Tedesco's displays for the Roosters this season, and agreed he was the favourite to win this year's Dally M Medal. And Walters hailed the leadership qualities of Tedesco that have helped bring through a number of the Chooks' talented youngsters, such as halves Hugo Savala and Sandon Smith, plus Maroons Origin star, Robert Toia. "These younger players have given him the energy for this year," Walters said. "And Tedesco has been playing with a big smile on his face alongside these younger kids, he's teaching them as well and showing great leadership. He's been fabulous for them." James Tedesco firms for Dally M as calls grow for Test recall Tedesco won the Dally M as the NRL's best player in 2019, the same year he claimed his second-straight premiership with the Roosters. And former teammate and NRL great Cronk believes the Roosters captain is in career-best form in 2025 and a clear frontrunner to win the Dally M again this season. "He's playing better football now than when he won the Dally M," Cronk said on Fox League. "He's playing better football than when he won competitions and represented his state and country. I think he will win the Dally M... but the one thing I would give a huge rap to Tedesco for is when he's the gun player he's probably overplayed his hand at stages (in the past). "He's tried to have 30 carries, five try assists and tried to do it all. I think this year he's actually let a few other guys go and do their own thing and he's found a really good balance. Naufahu Whyte was tremendous tonight, Connor Watson is starting to bring in a bit of play from the No.9. "Sam Walker obviously helps Tedesco's creativity as well and I think Hugo's kicking game allows the Roosters to win the field position battle more as well. So I think Tedesco has let go and given a bit of trust to others and he's come out the other side and is playing his best footy." Edwards has failed to achieve the same level of consistency as Tedesco this season though, and had a couple of questionable moments that cost his side in Thursday night's controversial golden point loss to Melbourne, prompting renewed calls for Tedesco to be handed a Kangaroos recall. People were telling me before the season that Edwards was the best fb in the game. Good player but not even close and the beneficiary of a great funny with Tedesco, he looked washed in his last Origin and has basically been brilliant since. — Max Power (@jrodbourn) August 15, 2025 Tedesco will be the FB for the kangaroos man — Krisco14 (@Krisco_____) August 15, 2025 If Tedesco is in form he gets picked, simple as that. Dylan Edwards is a Camry. You know what you get but ceiling is limited. — Quang (@traihp86) August 15, 2025 Teddy is easily the number one fullback in 2025, Edwards is brilliant but Tedesco has earnt the spot overwhelmingly. — Chuck Sherman (@CrispyBucketCo) August 15, 2025

UFC heavyweight suspended for doping violation

UFC heavyweight suspended for doping violation originally appeared on The Sporting News The UFC career of Alvin Hines is in serious jeopardy. The heavyweight, who lost his Octagon debut at UFC 317 earlier this year, has been suspended for a year after a failed drug test. Hines, who took a bout with Jhonata Diniz on short notice in June, tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, the promotion announced. The test results were released by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD). MORE: Dana White still has trust with Conor McGregor to make big fights A native of Minnesota, Hines was also found to have 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one and testosterone metabolites, as well as a metabolite of Tamoxifen, 3-Hydroxy-4-methooxytamoxifen, a hormone and metabolic modulator in his system. The tests were take from samples collected both in-competition and out-of-competition. In the release, the UFC noted that the cases reflected that Hines consumed the substances that are banned before he was signed to the UFC, but that he also failed to disclose taking them when his onboarding into the UFC Anti-Doping Program was completed just days before his bout. "Under the UFC ADP, CSAD evaluates each case and can reduce periods of ineligibility based on the athlete's degree of fault and their level of cooperation," the UFC said in a statement. " While Hines failed to disclose his prior use of these substances during onboarding, the estimated concentrations of these substances in Hines' samples were reflective that they were near the tail end of excretion and supported his explanation of their use prior to being signed to the UFC and entering the UFC registered testing pool." The suspension started on July 11, 2025 and runs for one year.
