'Can't believe you are growing up so fast': Mohammed Shami shares emotional post, unseen photos on daughter's birthday

Mint15 hours ago
Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami shared a heartfelt message for his daughter Aaira on her 10th birthday, even as his legal dispute with estranged wife Hasin Jahan continues over alimony and custody matters. On July 17, Shami took to Instagram to post emotional photos with Aaira, along with a touching caption:
'Dear daughter, I still remember all those nights when we stayed awake, kept talking, kept laughing and especially your dance. I can't believe that you are growing up so fast, I want only good things for you in life. May God give you love, peace, happiness and good health today and always. Happy birthday.'
The father-daughter bond has remained strained since Shami and Jahan's separation in 2018. Aaira currently lives with her mother in Kolkata. In an earlier social media post after reuniting with his daughter, Shami had written: 'Time stood still when I saw her again after a long time. Love you more than words can say, Bebo.'
The couple's marriage broke down after three years, when Hasin Jahan accused Shami of domestic violence and sexual abuse in 2018. Their legal battle has continued since then, with the latest development being a Calcutta High Court ruling.
As per the court's order, Shami has been directed to pay ₹ 1.5 lakh per month to Jahan and ₹ 2.5 lakh to Aaira. Jahan, speaking to PTI, expressed mixed feelings about the verdict. 'The lifestyle that Shami Ahmed lives ₹ 4 lakh is less. We had demanded ₹ 10 Lakh every month for seven years and four months back. Now that the cost of things has also increased, we will go for 'CAVEAT'.'
She added that while she respects the court's decision, she believes her daughter's future and her own needs warrant a higher amount. Her earlier plea for ₹ 10 lakh per month - ₹ 7 lakh for herself and ₹ 3 lakh for Aaira - had been rejected by a lower court.

Meta's new AI lets you imagine, create and star in any setting, now free in India

Meta's AI-powered selfie transformation tool, Imagine Me, has officially landed in India. After rolling out across the US and a handful of other countries over the past year, the quirky and highly personalised image-generation feature is now available to Indian users, and it's completely free. Whether you fancy yourself strutting in futuristic fashion or rocking a stage like a grunge-era guitarist, the tool can make that vision (virtually) come to globally in July 2024, the feature is finally making its Indian debut, letting people create AI images of themselves in a variety of imaginative contexts and styles. Part of Meta's broader AI offering, Imagine Me is now live across platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and the Meta AI app AI's Imagine Me: How does it workMeta describes the tool as a creative extension of personal identity in the digital world. The company said in a press release, 'Imagine Me in Meta AI is now available in India. Users can generate photos of themselves in different scenarios, from 'on the moon' to 'in a Renaissance painting'.' To get started, users must complete a one-time setup. This involves opening a chat with Meta AI and typing the phrase 'Imagine me as' followed by the desired scenario. The interface then prompts users to give permission for facial data collection and captures multiple angles of their face. Once that's done, users are free to generate images by typing prompts such as 'Imagine me as a 90s rockstar' or 'Imagine me in a Bollywood film.'The generated images are playful and stylised rather than hyperrealistic, which helps ensure that they are not mistaken for real photos. This subtle, illustrative aesthetic also keeps the feature from crossing into deepfake territory — a growing concern in the age of generative the tool respects privacy boundaries. Since it depends on facial data, users can only create images of themselves, not others. The setup process is locked to a single individual and cannot be reused or shared to generate multiple feature is powered by Meta's in-house personalisation models, designed to adapt a user's likeness into a range of fictional environments. A Meta spokesperson explained, 'Users will be able to see themselves in a variety of fun, imaginative, and creative ways -- thanks to the power of generative AI.'Unlike other AI image tools that often work from text-only prompts or generic avatars, Imagine Me offers a more tailored experience by combining text with real visual data. Once the initial scan is complete, users don't need to repeat the setup, and can continue generating fresh scenes as often as they like, whether they fancy themselves in a medieval knight's armour, a cyberpunk cityscape, or chilling on currently limited to a single user profile per setup, Meta may expand the feature's capabilities over time. Until then, each device is essentially tied to one face, one identity, and countless generative AI tools become more widespread, Meta's move to localise and expand its feature set shows a clear intent: to stay ahead in the playful, personalised AI game, and bring users along for the ride. And with Imagine Me now live in India, the stage is set for a new wave of AI-generated selfies that go far beyond the usual filters and go on and ask Meta AI to 'imagine me as' anything. Just don't be surprised if your digital doppelgnger starts living a more exciting life than you.- Ends

‘ColdplayGate' explained: How a ‘kiss cam' moment at Coldplay concert thrust Astronomer CEO Andy Byron into viral chaos

The Internet can be a chaotic place, and sometimes, all it takes is one unexpected moment to thrust someone into viral fame, whether they like it or not. That's exactly what happened to Andy Byron, CEO of tech firm Astronomer, during a Coldplay concert in Boston. Byron was attending the show at Gillette Stadium with Kristin Cabot, the company's Chief People Officer, when they suddenly found themselves on the arena's famous 'kiss cam.' What unfolded next had social media in a frenzy. As the camera panned to the pair, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin playfully teased the moment: 'Oh, look at these two.' But instead of basking in the momentary glory, like normal concert goes do, the executives looked flustered. Byron immediately ducked out of the shot, while Cabot buried her face in her hands and turned away. That's when Martin said, 'Oh, what… either they're having an affair or they're very shy.' Naturally, the clip exploded online. But what added fuel to the fire was a key detail people quickly pointed out: Andy Byron is married, his wife is Megan Kerrigan Byron. The awkward few seconds have now turned into a full-blown internet spectacle, and the reactions have been pouring in since. From meme accounts to media companies, and even Elon Musk, everyone saw it, and everyone reacted to it. Andy Byron, who took over as CEO and director of Astronomer in 2023, is facing renewed scrutiny after a viral incident brought his past back into the spotlight. Before joining Astronomer, Byron held senior roles in the cybersecurity space — he was president at Lacework between 2019 and 2022, later serving briefly as an advisor, and prior to that, he led Cybereason's sales efforts as Chief Revenue Officer from 2017 to 2019. But beyond his impressive résumé, former colleagues have painted a less flattering picture, calling him a 'toxic boss.' The controversy has reignited group chats and message threads among his old teams, many of whom didn't hold back. 'The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody's laughing their a** off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed,' a former direct report told The New York Post. Byron's wife, Megan Kerrigan, was also unintentionally pulled into the mess. After the video blew up online, strangers began flooding her social media. Her Facebook — once filled with personal family moments — became a target for comments, leading her to first drop her last name and eventually shut down the page entirely. She also deleted her Instagram account, according to The New York Post. Astronomer CEO Andy Byron's wife removes his last name from her Facebook profile, following viral video of his alleged affair with colleague Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert. — Pop Base (@PopBase) July 17, 2025 Kristin Cabot came on board as Chief People Officer at Astronomer in 2024, and shortly after joining, she took to social media to commend Byron and the leadership team for their vision and support. Byron, in turn, welcomed her with high praise in the official announcement, calling her 'exceptional' and noting that her 'deep expertise in talent management' made her an ideal match for the company's evolving goals. Also referred to as 'Coldplaygate' already, the situation has taken over social media, with countless posts, theories, and speculations about the duo. Elon Musk couldn't resist reacting to a viral post about Byron and Cabot, dropping a laughing emoji in response. 😂 — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 17, 2025 Meanwhile, Astronomer has stayed silent on the matter so far. But Ry Walker, the company's co-founder and former CEO, made it clear he has nothing to do with the situation anymore. On X, he clarified, 'For those asking – I'm no longer involved in @astronomerio… not on the team or board since 2022, and have no information on ColdplayGate.' For those asking – I'm no longer involved in @astronomerio – yes I was co-founder and early CEO – not on the team or board since 2022, and have no information on ColdplayGate — Ry Walker (@rywalker) July 17, 2025 Putting the spotlight away from the headliners for a moment—Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin reportedly had quite the awkward night interacting with fans, if one X user's account is anything to go by. A man named Wade shared that his wife was at the show, and according to her, Martin spent a good chunk of the evening double-checking if couples featured on the big screen were, in fact, actually dating. My wife was at this show & she said after this happened, Chris Martin asked every couple that appeared on the screen if they were actually together for the rest of the night. Super messy 😂 — WADE 🏀 (@Its_Wade) July 17, 2025 At one point, she told him, a couple held up a sign revealing they'd just gotten engaged. Martin invited them on stage to celebrate, but not before he, in Wade's words, 'made sure they were engaged to each other first.' Meanwhile, Byron has disabled commenting on his LinkedIn post. There is no official confirmation about a relationship between Byron and Cabot, other than the one they share professionally. Byron and Cabot are yet to address the controversy.
