Meanwhile, someone else who had to size up, but still loved the trainers, wrote: "Super comfy like wee fluffy clouds but I always find New Balance sizing a bit odd & have to go up by one size (usually a 39 but have to order 40)."
Someone else said: "These are very comfortable with great cushion inside. I purchased my regular size and width and they fit great. The shoe is actually leather with suede embellishments. Cute with everything. On trend."

Former Scottish industrial hub named UK's best place to buy a cottage

The region located just near Glasgow topped the list, which found that cottages in the area are typically priced at just £83,500. A former industrial hub in central Scotland has been named the most affordable place in the UK to buy a cottage, as interest in countryside living and cosy rural homes continues to grow. ‌ North Lanarkshire, located just east of Glasgow, topped a new ranking by property site Zoopla, which found that cottages in the area are typically priced at just £83,500. ‌ The area includes towns such as Motherwell, Wishaw, Airdrie, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld, places not traditionally associated with romantic cottage life, but now offering some of the best value for money in Britain, Scottish Daily Express reports. ‌ According to Zoopla, the word 'cottage' was the fourth most-searched term on its website in 2024, suggesting a surge in interest for more quaint and character-filled homes. With the rising cost of living and growing interest in the so-called 'cottagecore' aesthetic, buyers are increasingly drawn to smaller, more manageable properties set in rural or semi-rural surroundings. ‌ Daniel Copley, a consumer expert at Zoopla, said: 'Our data shows a clear and sustained appetite for the cottagecore lifestyle, a trend that shows no signs of slowing down. 'While the dream of a quaint, rural cottage is often associated with high prices, our analysis highlights that affordability can still be found across the country. "From the rolling hills of North Lanarkshire to the coastal charm of Sunderland, there are options for prospective buyers on a range of budgets. ‌ 'We're seeing this desire for a simpler life translate into market demand, with specific areas becoming hotspots for buyer interest. Whether you're a first-time buyer or looking for a change of pace, the cottage market offers diverse opportunities.' Cottages, while not strictly defined, are generally considered to be smaller and more rustic than traditional homes. Many are situated outside major urban centres, appealing to buyers looking to escape the hustle of city life. ‌ While North Lanarkshire was the most affordable area in the UK, East Lothian, just east of Edinburgh, ranked as the most expensive Scottish region for cottage buyers, with properties typically costing around £381,000. East Renfrewshire, south of Glasgow, also stood out in the study. It attracted the highest concentration of buyer interest in Scotland while still offering relatively good value for money, with average cottage prices around £100,000. If you're curious, you can read our Privacy Notice. ‌ Nigel Bishop, founder of buying agency Recoco Property Search, said: 'There has always been a fan base of buyers who appreciate the typically charming designs and quaint surroundings associated with a cottage. 'Many house hunters also express favouring this style of home for size, as cottages tend to be smaller than typical country homes and are therefore considered to be more manageable and could reduce running costs. 'Often set in rural locations, buyers need to ensure that the setting works for them long term, as some amenities such as shops and hospitals can be further away which can become inconvenient. "Demand for cottages remains strong, however, and house hunters should brace for a competitive property search, particularly for cottages with a lower asking price as they tend to attract multiple offers.'

Skechers' new trainers are like ‘walking on air' and rival Nike's Air Max 90s for £50 less

Skecher's has launched its new cushioned trainers that shoppers say are like 'walking on air', and they're a great alternative to Nike's £135 Air Max 90 trainers Shoppers have been racing to snap up one of Skechers' newest launches, with the UNO Stand on Air trainers becoming a huge hit with those looking for a comfortable, easy to style shoe to wear all day. The new £80 trainers have already been hailed as 'so comfortable' and 'like walking on air' by customers, with plenty snapping them up to wear for work. As well as being comfortable, the trainers also have a resemblance to Nike's Air Max 90 trainers, which come with a much higher price tag of £134.99. Whilst the Nike's are known for their signature air bubble sole and raised heel, the Skechers UNO trainers also share similar design details making them a great affordable alternative. The Skechers trainers feature an air-cushioned mid-sole for bounce and impact absorption, with an air-cooled memory foam insole for added pressure relief, instant comfort, and breathability. The lace up style and perforated smooth faux leather uppers also give them a sleek, easy-to-style finish. The UNO Stand on Air trainers come in a huge 24 different colours including work-appropriate neutrals like white and black, as well as bold fun colours like pink, purple and red. You can pick them up in both medium and wide fits, with sizes two to nine to choose from, including half sizes to make sure you're getting a perfect fit. Other trainer options that feature a similar silhouette and lightweight design without breaking the bank include Puma's Trinity 2 Unisex Sneakers, which are currently £54 down from £68. You could also snap up the coveted Reebok ERS World Trainers, which are sold out almost everywhere but we've managed to track down almost all sizes on sale for £49.99 down from £99.99. However Skechers shoppers have been raving about the comfort of the UNO Stand on Air trainers, with more than 1300 five star reviews. One simply praised them as: 'Great work shoe, very comfortable.' Whilst another added: 'I bought these shoes for working purposes. As a healthcare provider I spend a lot of my working hours (from 8 to 16 hours daily) on my feet. Wanted something comfortable, easy to clean and with a fluid repellent surface.' Others found the fit a little tricky but loved how comfortable they are, saying: 'I wear 6.5 and had to return and get a 7.5 Love them so comfortable really feels like walking on air I work 10+ hours these help so much.' Meanwhile others couldn't get past the fit, with one complaining: 'I love the look and style of these. I wore them 3 times and my feet just ached so bad.' Another agreed: 'I wear a 7 1/2 and they feel too small. I usually take a medium width and these feel too tight. I like the look of it and all, but they do not seem to fit quite right.' Whilst someone else added: 'Run small and not comfortable.' However others are a huge fan of how comfortable the UNO Stand on Air trainers are, with another reviewer writing: 'This style shoe is all I wear and I have many of the colors. Perfect for long standing hours. Started wearing them to relieve plantar faciitis. GREAT SHOE!!'
