EastEnders provides emotional update on absent character
spoilers follow.
EastEnders provided an emotional update on an absent character as the residents of Albert Square continued to mourn the loss of Martin Fowler.
Tuesday's (March 11) episode of the BBC soap saw Kathy Beale encourage the male friends of Martin to confront their feelings, with the character taking a bold step as she gave the keys of the café to Harvey, Billy and Howie so they could grieve in private.
After leaving the trio to reminisce, Kathy later confided in Harvey that she had visited her ex-husband, Rocky, in prison as he serves his decade-long stint behind bars for the arson of the café.
Related:
Visibly distressed, Kathy explained that she put off seeing Rocky but changed her mind following the death of Martin, adding that her ex-husband looked like 'he had done 12 rounds with Tyson Fury'.
She continued by further revealing that Rocky had relapsed back into gambling, noting that he would 'never change' despite having the ultimate 'wake-up call'. After Harvey consoled her, the pair reflected on their memories of Martin.
The situation saw Kathy and Harvey's connection develop, with Ross Boatman - who has played Harvey since 2021 - recently sharing that his character has always had a soft spot for Kathy, though admitted it might not be enough for them to be romantically involved.
Related:
'Harvey has always harboured some feelings towards Kathy. She is someone he's always been rather drawn to since he arrived,' Ross said. 'He even took her out on a date in the Square for a bag of chips.
'He's always had a thing for Kathy but he buried that when she got with his best mate [Rocky] and he has a relationship of his own, so whether it goes anywhere or not remains to be seen.'
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.

Hikaru Shida's AEW Absence Explained
Three-time former Women's World Champion Hikaru Shida hasn't been seen on AEW programming in quite some time. Shida hasn't been seen on television for AEW since the November 20 episode of Dynamite when she lost to Kris Statlander. So why hasn't she been featured at all in 2025? Advertisement On a recent Twitch stream, AEW EVP Kenny Omega revealed that Shida is currently back in Japan waiting on her visa to be renewed. Omega also confirmed that he's been taking care of her cats while she's away. 'Shida, it's unfortunate, every couple of years, everyone has to go back to their home country and re-up their visa,' Kenny Omega said. 'I would've hated for her cats to have been alone for who knows how long because you never really know how long the process is going to take. In this case, it's taking quite a while. Her cats get separation anxiety and don't like being alone. Dobby [Kenny's cat] is generally very gentle. They do get along. It's nice and it's fun. I would do it anytime. It's not a chore.' Taboo Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on June 15, 2025, 17:30 IST Last updated June 15, 2025, 12:58 IST Fans of the gritty BBC period drama Taboo have been eagerly awaiting news of Season 2 since the show's explosive first season aired in 2017. Starring Tom Hardy as the enigmatic James Keziah Delaney, Taboo captivated audiences with its dark storytelling, complex characters, and 19th-century London backdrop. With Season 2 officially confirmed, here's everything we know so far about the release date, cast, plot, and more. Taboo Season 2 Release Date Speculation As of June 2025, no official release date for Taboo Season 2 has been announced. However, recent updates provide some clues. Tom Hardy confirmed in March 2025 that the scripts are actively being written, stating, 'We're writing that at the moment' in an interview with LADBible. Producer Steven Knight previously told Collider in 2021 that six of the eight planned episodes were written, with production delays largely due to Hardy's busy schedule and the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming has not yet started, but if production begins in late 2025 or early 2026, a release could be expected in late 2026 or early 2027. Taboo Season 2 Expected Cast The only confirmed cast member for Taboo Season 2 is Tom Hardy, reprising his role as James Keziah Delaney. Hardy, who co-created the series with his father, Chips Hardy, and Steven Knight, remains deeply invested in the project. While no other actors have been officially confirmed, several key characters from Season 1 are expected to return based on the story's conclusion: Jessie Buckley as Lorna Bow, Delaney's stepmother. Tom Hollander as George Cholmondeley, the chemist and ally. Stephen Graham as Atticus, the loyal underworld figure. Edward Hogg as Michael Godfrey, the East India Company clerk. Taboo Season 2 Potential Plot Taboo Season 1 ended with James Delaney and his crew sailing toward America after a bloody confrontation with the East India Company. Season 2 is expected to follow their journey westward, exploring new themes and settings. Steven Knight has teased that the show will become 'more narcotic, more opium-affected' as it heads west, with a focus on the mysterious American spy network 'Colonnade.' This suggests a deeper dive into espionage and political intrigue. Where to Watch Taboo Season 2 When released, Taboo Season 2 will air on BBC One in the UK and FX in the US, following the first season's distribution. Season 1 is currently available on Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and for purchase on DVD/Blu-ray, suggesting Season 2 may eventually stream on these platforms.
