Louis Vuitton will officially launch its first beauty collection, La Beaute Louis Vuitton, in South Korea on Aug. 29, marking the luxury fashion house's cosmetics sector debut.
The collection features three product categories. LV Rouge, a lipstick line available in 55 shades — inspired by the Roman numerals for 55 represented by the brand's LV initials — leads the lineup. Also included are LV Baume, a sheer, glow-infused lip balm offered in 10 shades, and LV Ombres, eight eye shadow palettes each containing four shades.
German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic led the product design, with an emphasis on sustainability. The packaging uses refillable aluminum and brass components, reducing plastic usage while enhancing durability.
Renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath, known for her pioneering influence in the beauty industry, is the creative director for the line.
'La Beaute Louis Vuitton is the culmination of exceptional craftsmanship and innovation,' McGrath said. 'This collection opens a new dimension in luxury beauty.'
Global digital preorders will begin Monday, with select Louis Vuitton stores and the brand's official website offering the collection starting Aug. 29. In Korea, a three-story pop-up store will open Sept. 1 at the Louis Vuitton Dosan store in Seoul, offering an immersive experience with the new line.

$35 for three dumplings: A peek into Louis Vuitton restaurant in Seoul

First peek at menu and prices, as Louis Vuitton's first Seoul restaurant Le Cafe Louis Vuitton opens for reservations Louis Vuitton is stepping into Seoul's dining scene with a high-end culinary venture, and now, food lovers and fashion enthusiasts alike are getting their first look at the menu — and the price tags. Reservations for Le Cafe Louis Vuitton, the brand's first restaurant in Korea, opened Monday afternoon via the restaurant booking platform CatchTable. The venue is set to officially open on Sept. 1, occupying the fourth floor of Maison Louis Vuitton Seoul in the upscale neighborhood of Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam-gu. Signature dishes include beef mandu (dumplings) priced at 48,000 won ($35), with a promotional image showing a plate of three dumplings. Other highlights on the menu include a yuzu Caesar salad with Eclipse chicken for 40,000 won and a pear Charlotte dessert for 29,000 won. Le Cafe Louis Vuitton, led by chef Yoon Tae-kyun of the Michelin-starred French restaurant L'impression, presents a fusion of French fine dining techniques and Korean ingredients, according to the brand. Inside, the restaurant features a dome-shaped bookshelf curated with culinary publications selected by Chef Yoon, alongside Louis Vuitton's iconic travel and lifestyle books, blending gastronomy with the maison's signature aesthetic. With successful culinary projects already launched in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Milan and Bangkok, the opening in Seoul marks the latest step in Louis Vuitton's growing global gastronomic venture. Global luxury houses have increasingly expanded their presence in Korea's food and beverage market by opening cafes and restaurants that reflect their brand identity, in a bid to strengthen engagement with customers. Cafe Dior, located on the top floor of Christian Dior's flagship store in Cheongdam-dong, has become a haven for selfie-takers and shoppers since it opened in May 2016. Nestled in the basement of Maison Hermes Dosan Park in Sinsa-dong, Cafe Madang has been operated by Hermes since 2006, the same year its flagship store opened. The cafe was renovated in 2014 to showcase signature Hermes design elements, including elegant leather textures and distinctive color patterns. cjh@

'Le Cafe Louis Vuitton' to open in Maison Seoul

Louis Vuitton announced its newest culinary destination, "Le Cafe Louis Vuitton," will be opening Sep. 1 on the fourth floor of its flagship Maison Seoul in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. The new cafe is part of Louis Vuitton's global push into gastronomy, following successful ventures in cities such as Paris, New York, Tokyo, Milan and Bangkok. The Maison Seoul location will fuse French fine dining with Korean flavors, expanding its 'everyday expression of fashion, culture and cuisine," according to the brand. Maison Seoul, designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry with interiors by Peter Marino, has served as a symbolic space for Louis Vuitton since its 2019 debut. The sculptural facade and blend of modern and traditional Korean aesthetics have made it a landmark in Seoul's luxury retail landscape. At the helm of Le Cafe Louis Vuitton is Chef Yoon Tae-kyun, the newest addition to the Louis Vuitton Culinary Community. Yoon will work in collaboration with Michelin three-star French chef Arnaud Donckele and renowned pastry chef Maxime Frederic. Together, they aim to craft an innovative menu that melds French techniques with locally inspired ingredients. Full menu details and reservation information are set to be released in August ahead of the cafe's official public opening. The cafe is part of Louis Vuitton's broader Culinary Community initiative, which seeks to discover and nurture culinary talent across the globe while integrating the maison's design ethos into the dining experience.
