
Jharkhand news: 2 goods trains derail in Saraikela Kharsawa district, wagons lie scattered across tracks
Train services between the Chandil-Tatanagar section of South Eastern Railway were disrupted after over 20 wagons of a goods train were derailed, an official informed PTI.
'There was no report of any injury in the derailment,' PTI quoted the official as saying. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Adra Division) Vikash Kumar noted that train services on both the up and down tracks from Chandil are affected due to the derailment, PTI reported.
While restoration work is going on, many express and mail trains were either diverted, short-terminated or cancelled.
The list of trains that were cancelled include 20894 Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat express, 28181 Tatanagar-Katihar express and 28182 Katihar-Tatanagar express.
In an unrelated incident, around two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force were wounded in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district on Friday, August 8.
The incident reported at Chaibasa, took place in Mankey area near Jaraikela which lies within the dense Saranda forest. CRPF's CoBRA battalion's injured personnel were promptly airlifted to Ranchi, PTI reported.
Later, Inspector General (Ranchi) Manoj Kaushik met the injured jawans who were a part of the afternoon search operation. "They have received splinter injuries. Their family members have been informed of the incident. Doctors say both of them are stable and will recover soon," Manoj Kaushik said.
This comes after, Jharkhand Police launched a massive manhunt to catch 55 Naxalites, including top CPI (Maoist) commanders. Notably, the suspects carrying a cumulative bounty of ₹ 8.45 crore.
"At least three top Maoists — Misir Besra, Patiram Manjhi and Asim Mandal — with each carrying a reward of ₹ 1 crore on their heads, are operating in the Saranda region," the IG added.

Delhi Car Accident Leaves 1 Dead, Another Injured; Driver Detained By Police
One person died and another was injured after a car hit them on 11 Murti Road in Delhi on Sunday. Police officials said the driver has been detained and added that efforts are underway to ascertain the victims' identities. Citing Delhi Police, the news agency ANI reported that the car involved in the accident is registered in the name of Ankit Adnani, who is a resident of Ahimsa Khand, Ghaziabad. The driver's name is Ashish, who is 26 years old. He was going from Gurgaon to Shakarpur. The car belonged to his friend. He will be medically examined to check if he was under the influence of drugs, which is a routine procedure. He is not employed right now. Earlier, he used to work as a driver for someone... The assailants reportedly hurled beer bottles and stones, smashed the victims' car windows, and severely assaulted them. Both Manoj and Kunal were later admitted to a private hospital for treatment." In another incident, on July 25, a man named Awadhesh Rai was beaten unconscious in the Munirka area following a confrontation over right of way.

Teenager electrocuted on school campus to get new house in Kerala
Kollam (Kerala), Aug 10 (PTI) The family of a 13-year-old student who was electrocuted at an aided school campus last month will soon get a new house, with Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty laying the foundation stone here on Sunday. Mithun, a student of Thevalakkara Boys High School in Kollam district, died after coming into contact with a live electric wire on the school premises. Opposition parties had criticised the state government and the General Education Department over the incident. The new house will be built in the same locality where the family currently lives, the minister's office said in a statement. The project is being implemented under the aegis of the Kerala Scouts and Guides, of which Sivankutty is the state president. The 1,000 sq ft house, comprising three bedrooms and other amenities, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh. The government aims to complete the work and hand over the keys within four months. Apart from the house, the government has announced various financial assistance measures for the family. These include Rs 10 lakh each from the state government and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), Rs 11 lakh from the Kerala School Teachers' Association (KSTA), and Rs 3 lakh from the General Education Department. The educational expenses of Mithun's brother will also be fully covered by the department, Sivankutty said. Local representatives and officials were present during the foundation stone ceremony. Three killed, one injured in motorcycle accident in Chhattisgarh
Gaurela (Chhattisgarh), Aug 10 (PTI) Three members of a family were killed and one sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident in Chhattisgarh's Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district, police said on Sunday. The accident occurred on Saturday night near the Bandhamuda barrier on the Gaurela-Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh) main road under the Gaurela police station limits, an official said. As per preliminary information, four members of a family left home for an outing on a motorcycle after celebrating Raksha Bandhan, he said. The official said that people in the vicinity reported that the rider lost control after hitting stray cattle on the road, causing the two-wheeler to fall.
