Niyati Joshi; in the show Yeh Rishta Niyati Joshi, who played Swarna Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for six years, has decided to bid adieu to the show. The actress said it was the right time to move on and explore new opportunities. 'The biggest joke doing the rounds was how I continued to look the same even after playing a great, great grandmom! When I entered, I was playing mother to my age-group actors, but I had no issues because the role was meaty and had depth. Now, the story no longer focuses on the Goenkas. After the leap, it moved to the other family and I hardly had anything to do. I wasn't shooting for many days in the past few months, so I felt it was time to move on,' she said.
