Pixar Announces New Original Movie "Gatto", Unveils First Look & Release Window
Yara Sameh Pixar has announced a new original movie, "Gatto", alongside sharing a first look and a release date for the feline-focused story. The upcoming film hails from the same duo behind Pixar's "Luca" director Enrico Casarosa and producer Andrea Warren. The pic debuted in 2021 and became a fan favorite thanks to its charming characters and beautiful Italian backdrop. It was the first Pixar movie released exclusively on Disney+ and ultimately became the most-watched streaming film of 2021, accumulating over 10.6 billion minutes of viewership. Since then, Pixar has shifted back to theatrical releases. On Friday, at the Annecy Animation Festival in France, DisneyPixar's Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter announced the new film, "Gatto", which is slated for the summer of 2027. A first-look image was also unveiled, featuring a black cat named Nero carefully stepping down a set of stone stairs in Venice. After "Luca" was set on the Italian Riviera, "Gatto" is returning to Italy, Casarosa's home country, this time setting the story in Venice. There, a black cat named Nero, after spending years navigating the winding streets and canals of the remarkable floating city, starts to wonder if he's made the most of his nine lives. A reluctant music enthusiast with a deep fear of water, Nero owes a debt to a local feline crime boss, which lands him in trouble. Nero's troubles lead him into an unexpected alliance with a spirited street artist named Maya, who decides to adopt him, much to his annoyance. The unlikely duo makes for a mismatched pair, but their bond begins to help Nero discover his true purpose – unless the hidden, more dangerous side of Venice catches up with him first. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pixar (@pixar) The biggest reveal from the first-look image is the hand-painted visual style, which is something entirely new for Pixar, featuring vibrant Venetian colors and traditional 2D hand-painted textures. By following a feline, Pixar's "Gatto" will inevitably draw comparisons to the 2024 film "Flow" about a cat struggling to survive a flood, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Despite both movies iffer in terms of animation style and story, the similarities between Gatto and Flow are undeniable – they both follow feline protagonists on emotional journeys. However, Pixar seems determined to carve its own path with Gatto, offering a more whimsical yet heartfelt story set in Venice, combined with a hand-painted visual aesthetic never before seen from the studio. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Squid Game" Season 3 Drops Final Trailer
Yara Sameh Netflix dropped Friday a second trailer of the third and final season of its smash-hit South Korean blockbuster dystopian show 'Squid Game.' The third and final season of the Korean hit — Netflix's most watched series to date, regardless of language — arrives June 27. The new trailer takes a somewhat more somber tone than the previous one, with quieter music and a voiceover from Jang Geum-ja/Player 149 (portrayed by Kang Ae-shim), who's speaking to the show's protagonist Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-jae): 'Are you blaming yourself for everything that happened? No matter how you look at it, life is just unfair. Bad people do bad things, but they blame others and go on to live in peace. Good people, on the other hand, beat themselves up about the smallest things,". 'I still believe that you came here to save us all,' she concludes. Player 456, though, gets the last line: 'I'm trying to put an end to it.' Season two of "Squid Game", released in late December, ended with a cliffhanger: The games weren't over, and Gi-hun and his associates were once again held captive. After winning the Squid Games in season one, Gi-hun was determined to dismantle them from the inside. The giant streamer released the first trailer at its annual Tudum event in May. The seven-episode second season explored Gi-hun's efforts to do that, culminating in a finale where he found himself thwarted by Front Man, the enigmatic game leader played by Lee Byung-hun who was revealed to the audience — but not yet to Gi-hun — to be Player 001. Front Man executed Gi-hun's best friend, Player 290/Park Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), as a warning about the consequences of his rebellion. Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk executive produces season three with Kim Ji-yeon. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Matthew McConaughey, Nic Pizzolatto Reunite for "Mike Hammer" Movie
Yara Sameh Matthew McConaughey and True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto have found their next collaboration. McConaughey is in talks to star in a feature film from Skydance based on the iconic private investigator character Mike Hammer, with a script by Pizzolatto. Skydance has acquired the rights to the Mike Hammer property, with plans to develop and produce the bestselling book series into a feature film. The character originated in a 1947 novel by author Mickey Spillane and continued after Spillane's death in books by Max Allan Collins. In the book series that kicked off with Spillane's I, the Jury, Mike Hammer is a private investigator who plays by his own rules and carries a torch for assistant Velda. Baby, It's Murder is billed as the final book in the series and was released this year. Producers include Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, alongside Guymon Casady, Benjamin Forkner and Ken F. Levin. Collins is an executive producer, while Jane Spillane co-produces. Carin Sage oversees the film for Skydance. McConaughey recently returned to the screen after a six-year hiatus with 'The Rivals of Amziah King,'. He will next star alongside America Ferrera in the Apple TV+ disaster thriller 'The Lost Bus" and the comedy series "Brothers" alongside Woody Harrelson. 'I needed to write my own story, direct my own story on the page,' McConaughey told Variety earlier this year of his time away from the camera. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
