DSC-2025: Exams begin, over 5 lakh to compete for 16,347 teacher posts

The Department of School Education has received more than 5 lakh applications for the DSC-2025 examination that began today and will end on June 30, 2025.
Convenor of the Mega DSC-2025, M. Venkata Krishna Reddy, said: '16,347 teacher posts will be filled in government, local bodies, and schools run by welfare societies across the State through this recruitment drive. As many as 3,36,305 candidates have submitted 5,77,675 applications for various teaching positions, including school assistants (SA), secondary grade teachers (SGTs), school assistants (Physical Education), physical education teachers (PETs), principals, postgraduate teachers (PGTs), and trained graduate teachers (TGTs).
The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted across 137 test centres in the state and 17 centres outside the state, including Hyderabad, Kodad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Berhampur. To ensure transparency, the exams will be monitored through live CCTV surveillance, and candidates will undergo biometric verification. Section 144 of CrPC will be enforced around the exam venues to maintain law and order and prevent any possible malpractice.
Candidates must download their hall tickets from the official Mega DSC website, https://apds.apcfss.in/. Candidates will be allowed entry to the exam centre 90 minutes before the scheduled time and up to 9 a.m. for the morning session and up to 2 p.m. for the afternoon session, said Mr. Krishna Reddy.

1 2 3 Visakhapatnam: The mega district selection committee (DSC) teacher recruitment exams began across the state on Friday. Thousands of candidates attended the TGT (trained graduate teacher) exam in two sessions. In the morning session, exams for TGT (non-language) were conducted at 91 centres across the state. Out of 16,102 applicants, 14,281 candidates appeared, recording an attendance rate of 88.69%. In the afternoon session, exams for TGT (non-language) continued at 51 centres. Of the 8,790 registered candidates, 7,611 appeared, marking an attendance of 86.7%. District-wise, the highest attendance in the morning was reported in Kadapa (91.1%), while in the afternoon, Nellore district registered the highest attendance at 92%. According to candidates, 60-70% of the questions were more difficult than expected. For example, the maths TGT paper included several questions on advanced trigonometry. The exam reported no untoward incidents, apart from some candidates arriving late and being denied entry to the centres. Some candidates found it difficult to locate the centres, as these are mostly situated far from or outside the cities. Bengaluru The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) announced Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET-2025) results on Friday and Shishir H. Shetty from Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada district, secured the first rank. Second and the third ranks were bagged by Maulik Jain from Punjab and Varun J. Kumar from Bengaluru, respectively. Of the top 10, only four students are from Karnataka. Other rank holders are Vennapusa Harshavardhan Reddy from Andhra Pradesh (4), Nitesh Anand from Bihar (5), N.B. Ritesh Varshan from Uttar Pradesh (6) Manojna Shreevijay Kalburgi from Bengaluru (7), G. Saikiran from Bengaluru (8), Anurag Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh (9) and Bhupathi Nithin Agnihotri from Andhra Pradesh (10). Interestingly, all the top 10 rank holders are boys this time. Of the top 100 ranks, students from Karnataka bagged 55 ranks. Rank cards of the eligible candidates have been generated and are available to the candidates in their respective applicant login on the COMEDK website ( As per the details shared by the COMEDK authorities, 11,412 candidates are in 90 to 100 percentile. Of this, 3,330 candidates are from Karnataka. Similarly, 11,446 candidates are between the 80 and 90 percentile and of which 3,050 candidates are from Karnataka. As against 1,31,937 candidates registered for the test, around 1,13,111 (37,715 Karnataka and 75,396 Non-Karnataka) candidates appeared for the test which was held on May 10 and 25, 2025. As many as 69 Candidates challenged the answer keys. 'Taking into consideration the advice of the Expert Committee, which went into these clarifications,' says the statement by COMEDK. The authorities even clarified that the counselling would be conducted online and the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of the documents through their login. These uploaded documents will be verified by the panel of expert verification officers.

The Department of School Education has introduced 'Shining Stars Award' to promote academic excellence. A G.O. released to this effect on Friday (June 6) said meritorious students who secure the highest marks in SSC Public Examinations and students who secure the highest marks in each group — MPC, BiPC, HEC and CEC/MEC — in Intermediate Public Examination would be recognising as 'Shining Stars' and given an award comprising a cash prize of ₹20,000, a merit certificate and a medal. Students from both government and private institutions are eligible. In schools, students who secure 500 and above out of the total 600 marks, i.e. equivalent to 83.33 % and above, among OC, BC, SC, ST and Minority sections would be considered for selection in a particular mandal in the SSC exams. Among Children with Special Needs (CwSN) the eligibility for selection is 70% marks and above. For Intermediate students, those who secure 830 and above marks among OC, BC, SC, ST and Minority sections would be considered for selection from a particular district in the Intermediate Public Examinations of the preceding academic year. Among CwSN, those secure 700 marks and above would be considered for selection. The Director of School Education and the Board of Intermediate Education would respectively prepare the list of students eligible to receive the awards.
