Troy Aikman reveals why he hasn't become friendly with royal neighbors Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman is enjoying his time off before another season in the broadcast booth with Joe Buck.
What he isn't doing, though, is hanging out with his famous neighbors in Montecito, Calif.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, also live in Montecito, but Aikman explained why he doesn't see himself spending any time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex anytime soon.
'I haven't run into them,' he told Us Weekly. 'But they are there from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they're out there. But I'm not hanging with them, that's for sure.'
The Dallas Cowboys legend was promoting his Eight Elite Light Beer and joked he doesn't picture Prince Harry and his wife 'drinking much light beer.'
Prince Harry and Markle moved to Montecito in 2020 after leaving their senior roles with the royal family. But they don't seem to be making too many friends in their new area.

Montecito residents spoke to Vanity Fair earlier this year, one of whom referred to Markle as 'the starlet,' and they believe the usually quiet town has new annoyances since they arrived.
Some of those annoyances include busier streets, increased housing prices and tourist traffic.
But not everyone believes the couple to be 'local villains.'

Sharon Stone, another celebrity neighbor, commended them for wanting to make a mark in Montecito.
'You know, the thing about them that is so great is they didn't come here to live off of our community,' Stone told Access Hollywood in 2020. 'They came here to be a part of our community.
'My friend said she was sitting in her car, and they bicycled across the street and waved at her while she was sitting at the red light. They're a part of our community. They've become a giving, caring, participating part of our community. They're not here to be like, 'Would you like to kiss my butt?''

Montecito has been home to celebrities like Natalie Portman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bridges, Michael Keaton and others.
Aikman is gearing up for his next NFL broadcasting season on ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' alongside longtime partner Buck.
Aikman, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Cowboys, began broadcasting in 2001.

Blake Lively loses bid to hide private texts with Taylor Swift in Justin Baldoni legal case
It's a cruel summer. Justin Baldoni can officially gain access to Blake Lively and Taylor Swift's private messages that pertain to 'It Ends With Us,' US District Judge Lewis Liman ruled on Wednesday. In court documents obtained by The Post, Judge Liman denied Lively's motion for a protective order to hide her messages with Swift, 35, from Baldoni, 41, amidst their ongoing legal battle. 11 Taylor Swift and Blake Lively at the 2024 Super Bowl. Variety via Getty Images The ruling stated that since Lively, 37, 'has represented that Swift had knowledge of complaints or discussions about the working environment on the film,' the requests for her messages with the 'Style' singer 'are reasonably tailored to discover information that would prove or disprove Lively's harassment and retaliation claims.' But Judge Liman did note that the messages must be related to the 2024 film or Lively and Baldoni's legal case. 11 Blake Lively, Taylor Swift seen in SoHo in September 2023. GC Images He also stated that the parties' pre-exesting protective order will cover the messages to prevent them from leaking to the press. According to the ruling, Lively's lawyers made a proposal to Baldoni's team in which she would hand over all documents related to the case, except her messages with Swift, in return that Baldoni produced 'all video footage related to the film and full, unredacted versions of communication' listed in Baldoni's complaint. Baldoni's team ultimately declined Lively's bargain. 11 Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in 'It Ends With Us.' AP Lively's spokesperson told The Post in a statement: 'The Court outright denied the Wayfarer Parties' motion to compel documents from Ms. Lively, who has produced far more documents in this case than the Wayfarer Parties combined. Further, the Court's protective order ruling rests on the Wayfarer Parties' admission that they received nothing from Taylor Swift, which is exactly the opposite of what their 'insider' claimed two weeks ago.' 11 Blake Lively at the 'Another Simple Favor' screening in New York on April 27. WireImage 'As for the rest, Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties demanded access to Taylor Swift's private communications—despite having already subpoenaed and then withdrawn that subpoena,' the statement continued. 'Baldoni's desire to drag Taylor Swift into this has been constant dating back to August 2024, when the crisis PR firm led by Melissa Nathan included her in their 'Scenario Planning' document, referred to her as a bully, and called for a strategy to influence the 'TS fanbase.' We will continue to call out Baldoni's relentless efforts to exploit Ms Swift's popularity, which from day one has been nothing more than a distraction from the serious sexual harassment and retaliation accusations he and the Wayfarer parties are facing.' 11 Justin Baldoni at the 'It Ends With Us' premiere in New York in Aug. 2024. Adela Loconte/Shutterstock The Post has reached out to Baldoni's attorney and Swift's rep for comment. In May, Swift was subpoenaed as a witness by Baldoni's legal team in the never-ending 'It Ends With Us' legal nightmare. But in a shocking move by Baldoni's legal team, they dropped the subpoena on May 22 after a representative for Swift denied she had any involvement in the drama. 11 Blake Lively and Taylor Swift seen in New York City in Dec. 2023. GC Images 'Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see 'It Ends With Us' until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,' the rep told The Post in response to the original subpoena. The 'Lover' singer was mentioned in Baldoni's $400 million countersuit against the actress and her husband Ryan Reynolds, in which Baldoni accused Lively of calling Swift and Reynolds, 48, her 'dragons' and referring to herself as Khaleesi from 'Game of Thrones' in an alleged text conversation. 11 Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift. Hugh Jackman/Instagram Baldoni further alleged that Swift was present for a pivotal meeting he had with Lively at her and Reynolds' NYC penthouse about rewriting the infamous 'It Ends With Us' rooftop scene. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, later issued a letter to Judge Liman, claiming he was told by an anonymous source that Lively's lead lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, allegedly threatened to release Swift's text messages if the 'You Need to Calm Down' hitmaker didn't publicly support Blake. 11 Justin Baldoni at an event in Los Angeles in December 2024. Variety via Getty Images Gottlieb denied the allegations — and the judge granted Lively's motion to strike the letter, calling Freedman's filing 'improper' and 'irrelevant' in the order obtained by The Post. Lively and Swift's friendship has allegedly suffered due to the legal case. 'Even though Taylor has totally cut ties with her, Blake hasn't with Taylor,' a source recently told the Daily Mail, claiming that Lively has been 'ignoring' her former bestie, who is the godmother of Lively and Reynolds' three daughters. 11 Taylor Swift and Blake Lively at the 2024 Super Bowl. Getty Images The source further claimed that Swift is icing out Lively because she feels 'betrayed' and 'exploited' by the 'Gossip Girl' alum. The legal battle began when Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, claiming he sexually harassed her while filming 'It Ends With Us.' She also accused him of spearheading a smear campaign against her and of an intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. 11 Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively filming 'It Ends With Us' in New Jersey in Jan. 2024. Christopher Peterson / Baldoni, who denied the allegations, countersued Lively and Reynolds in January, alleging extortion and defamation. But the $400 million lawsuit was dismissed by Judge Liman earlier this month, as was Baldoni's $250 million defamation lawsuit against the New York Times. The legal case is still scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.

NFL Legend Sends Message to Eagles' Saquon Barkley
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Coming off a career year with the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley shocked the football world with comments about his future. Following his viral remarks, one NFL legend sent a message to the star running back. While making an appearance on Chris Long's "Green Light" podcast, Barkley gave his thoughts on his runway in the NFL. He hinted at having an abrupt retirement similar to his mentor and idol Barry Sanders. "I'll probably be one of those guys that it'll be out of nowhere. I'll probably just wake up one day, whether it's next year or two years or four years, and just be like, 'Yeah it's over,'" Barkley said. Seeing that he won a Super Bowl and nearly made history with the Eagles last season, these comments threw many people for a loop. After hearing what the reigning Offensive Player of the Year had to say, Sanders himself decided to chime in on the topic. He likes what he sees from the Eagles back on the field, and doesn't want to see him hang up his cleats anytime soon. "You should stick around for a little while. As a fan, I'm enjoying watching him play," Sanders said. "I still see him as still being very young. I'm excited with what he's been able to do in Philadelphia, and really, just his journey. He was written off by the Giants, and to see the kind of year he had last year, I know he still has a lot of great years left in him." Sanders also applauded his fit on a loaded Eagles roster and hopes his comments were just feelings in the moment and will change over time. "Sometimes, players feel that [way], and once they get into camp and into the season, they feel different," he continued. "Philadelphia feels like a great place, a great home for him, so hopefully it's just sort of a temporary thing that he's experiencing, that he'll continue to enjoy the success there with that great team that they've assembled." Steelers' hilarious Bill Cowher and James Harrison story resurfaces
Steelers' hilarious Bill Cowher and James Harrison story resurfaces The hilarious back-and-forth between Steelers legendary HC Bill Cowher and DC Dick LeBeau in trying to get James Harrison off the field has resurfaced — and it's still just as funny almost four years later. The clip in question, from A Football Life: James Harrison, retells a 2004 story in which OLB Joey Porter was ejected during pre-game warmups against the Browns, giving Harrison his first starting opportunity — one that Cowher claims he refused to leave the field on: "[LeBeau] goes, 'Coach, [Harrison] won't come out,'" Cowher said. "I go, 'Make him come out.' He goes, 'You make him come out. He won't come out.' I go, 'No, I'm not making him come out.' I said, 'He already told me he wasn't coming out either.' So I said, 'We both got the same dilemma.' I said, 'Just let him play. I've already cut the guy three times — I'm not going to tell him to come out of the game. I've already done that. I'm done cutting the guy.'" Harrison's drive and desire to be great — as evident in Cowher's hilarious retelling — is why the legendary defender will one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year, four-time All-Pro, and two-time Super Bowl champion was nothing short of excellent.
