Gal Gadot 'evacuated from London movie set' over pro-Palestine group arrival

Gal Gadot was escorted off the set of her new film The Runner when a group of pro-Palestine protesters interrupted filming in London, it is reported.
The 40-year-old Israeli actor, who stars in the film alongside Damien Lewis, has previously voiced her support for her country in the wake of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, leading to heated criticism.
The Disney revamp of Snow White, released in March, faced boycott calls with pro-Palestine groups protesting against the Wonder Woman star's casting in the film as the Evil Queen.
Now groups have reportedly turned up at the set of her new film The Runner to protest against her pro-Israel views.
Police were pictured in a commotion on Camden Road, just above the canal where filming was taking place, on May 1.
Gadot was escorted off set and replaced by a body double as activists waved flags, banged drums and shouted 'stop bombing Palestine' through a megaphone, it is reported.
The actor, who previously served in the Israeli Defence Forces, was said to be 'fuming' at the interruption, according to The Daily Mail.
She wore a blue running jacket and black leggings for her role as a London attorney whose son is abducted. Gadot was filmed running along the canal, shooting the film.
This new project comes after Snow White proved a box office flop, as the film – with a production budget of $270 million (£203 million) – struggled to make back costs.
While Gadot has publicly advocated for Israel over the years, her Snow White co-star Rachel Zegler made her support for Palestine clear.
While directly promoting the film, Zegler thanked fans for their 'love' in response to the trailer in the summer, before adding on X: 'And always remember, free Palestine.'
After this it was alleged Gadot received death threats and her security was upped by Disney as a result.
Variety reported: ' Disney had to pay for additional security for the mother of four.'
An insider also told the outlet that Zegler hadn't realised the ramifications of her tweet: 'She didn't understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone.'
In October 2023, the Israeli actress voiced her support for her country after Hamas launched an attack at the Nova Music Festival, which killed 364 people.
Gadot shared on Instagram: 'I stand with Israel you should too.
'The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!'
In 2021, she also called for an end to conflict: 'My Heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people.
'This is a vicious cycle that has been going on far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, our neighbours deserve the same.'
'I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace.
'I pray for better days.'
Since the 2023 Hamas attacks, Israel's offensive campaign in Gaza has killed over 50,000 Palestinians, the territory's Hamas-run health ministry announced in March.
Around 90% of Gaza's population of 2.3 million people has been displaced, and hundreds of thousands are struggling with hunger and disease in squalid tent camps on the coast, according to United Nations officials.

Renée Victor, the voice of no-nonsense Abuelita in 'Coco,' dies at 86
Renée Victor, who voiced the no-nonsense, sandal-throwing Abuelita in Disney's animated hit "Coco" and played the wisecracking Lupita on Showtime's "Weeds," has died. She was 86. Victor's death was confirmed Monday by a representative, Julie Smith, who said the actor had lymphoma for several years. She died Friday at her home in Sherman Oaks, California, Smith said, with family by her side. A post on the Instagram feed of Pixar, which produced "Coco," said: "We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Renée Victor, the voice [of] Abuelita in 'Coco' and an incredible part of the Pixar family. We will always remember you." Victor appeared in 22 episodes of "Weeds" as sassy housekeeper Lupita between 2005 and 2012, among many other TV credits including "ER," "Matlock" and "The Addams Family." But she was perhaps best known for what she called the chancla-throwing grandmother in "Coco," the 2017 family-friendly movie that explored death through the journey of a young Mexican boy to the land of the dead. "I play the part of 'Abuelita,' the chancla throwing grandma that preaches 'No Music!'" she wrote on Instagram, looking back several years ago. "Enjoy 'Coco' with your family this Dia de los Muertos and forever more!" She also looked back at "The Apostle," the 1997 movie that Robert Duvall wrote, directed and starred in. "He took a chance on me with this film," Victor wrote on Instagram. "This is where I got my nickname 'one take Renée,'" she said, adding laughter emojis. "I had a small role but what a great one! Can somebody give me an amen?!" Born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 25, 1938, Victor began her performing career as a singer and dancer. She moved to Los Angeles in the 1960s, according to biography material provided by her representatives, where she launched her career singing with prominent big band leaders Xavier Cugat and Pérez Prado. She also taught Latin dancing, including salsa and the tango. She met her future husband, Ray, during that period, and from 1963 to 1973, they performed together as "Ray & Renée," a variety show that took them around the world — including Australia, where "they enjoyed particular fame," the materials said. In the 1970s, Victor hosted the "Pacesetters" public affairs show on KTLA, her representatives said, and by the '80s had moved into TV and film work. Her film credits, other than "The Apostle," included the 2014 horror film "Paranormal Activity 5: The Marked Ones," "The Doctor" with William Hurt (1991), and "A Night in Old Mexico" (2013), also with Duvall. In 2004, she had a recurring role as Florina Lopez on TV's "ER," and the following year was cast in "Weeds." Other series credits included "Snowpiercer" (2020-2021), "Mayans M.C." (2022), "Dead to Me" (2020-2022), and Amazon's "With Love" (2021-2023). Victor is survived by her daughters, Raquel and Margo Victor, Smith said.

Coronation Street confirms huge Lisa shock as Betsy star reacts

As the day of Craig's memorial service arrives, Lisa apologises to Carla, before setting about distracting herself by going through some old files. However, when Betsy comes snooping and tries to take a peek at one of the files, Lisa snatches it from her, leaving the curious teen intrigued. Desperate to know what her mum was so keen to hide, Betsy confronts Lisa, who is quick to lie. Hundreds of Disney employees terminated from company after layoffs
Disney implemented its fourth and largest round of layoffs in the past year, primarily affecting its television operations. The layoffs impact various departments, including corporate financial operations, film, television, marketing, television publicity, casting, and development, with most affected staff based in Los Angeles.
