There's a tough week ahead for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street next week, as she faces Craig Tinker's memorial service – but there's more trouble on the cards.
As she and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) admit how difficult the event will be, with Kit revealing that the family have asked him to make a speech, Carla Connor (Alison King) confides in Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) that she's worried about Lisa.
In a bid to help Lisa take her mind off things, Carla comes up with a plan.
As the day of Craig's memorial service arrives, Lisa apologises to Carla, before setting about distracting herself by going through some old files.
However, when Betsy comes snooping and tries to take a peek at one of the files, Lisa snatches it from her, leaving the curious teen intrigued.
Desperate to know what her mum was so keen to hide, Betsy confronts Lisa, who is quick to lie.
She tells Betsy that the file contains information about Betsy's paternity, and that she can't see it until she turns 18.
When Lisa arrives at the memorial service and notices Kit's absence, she is worried, but soon steps up in his place to deliver a moving speech for Craig.
Meanwhile, Betsy clearly wants to know more about her mysterious findings, as Carla later returns home and catches her going through Lisa's files – but what exactly has she dug up?
When Betsy shows a picture of the letter she's found to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she reveals that she intends to get to the bottom of it…
When we caught up with actresses Cait and Sydney at the British Soap Awards, Cait shared her reaction to the twists in this story, saying: 'I was tired reading it!'
'There is a lot of drama coming up!' Sydney agreed, continuing: 'I'm intrigued for people to see it!'
When Lisa asks Betsy to join her for lunch the next day, Betsy makes out that she's meeting Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who has recently been released from the STC.
However, that proves to be a lie when she and Lauren enter the prison visiting room.
As Betsy admits that she's a nervous wreck, is she set to make a deal with the devil?
Meanwhile, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) drops her right in it when he lets slip to Lisa and Carla that Betsy ordered a cab to Highfield Prison.
How will they react?
As dramatic as this story is set to be, both Sydney Martin and Vicky Myers promised moments of light.
'I don't know how much we can say but there's some exciting stuff coming up,' Sydney promised.
'There's also some really sweet, important scenes in there. I can't go into detail, but I'm glad that they're airing.' More Trending
Later in the evening, Vicky told us that 'there is a lot' still to come.
'There is a lot coming, but there's also periods of time that they're really happy, and there's periods of time when it's not going so well, but that's indicative of any relationship, isn't it? And any family life.

EastEnders actress Kitty Castledine has teased what's ahead for Penny Branning, with her co-star Jacqueline Jossa hinting at a love triangle with Harry Mitchell There could be a big love triangle on EastEnders, with one star teasing things could get awkward for Penny Branning. The actress playing her, Kitty Castledine, has confessed huge storylines are on the way, hinting the soap was about to get "better and better". With that, her co-star Jacqueline Jossa hinted Kitty's character Penny would be caught up in a love triangle. ‌ Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards, Kitty addressed whether Penny and Harry Mitchell would give romance another go. But amid another character possibly also getting involved, it seems a triangle is on the cards. ‌ As we asked Kitty and Jacqueline about the Penny and Harry romance, both appeared to confirm the storyline would be revisited. It's then that Jacqueline told us: "I can sense a little triangle coming. I say no more." Pressed for who the other character was who might be involved with Harry, both stars declined to reveal all. But the actress isn't put off from having Penny go head-to-head in scenes with Harry's mother, after recent drama in Walford. In fact, Kitty confessed that while it might not be the best idea for Penny to dabble with the Mitchells, she thinks conflict between the women would be "great". Jacqueline confessed she'd love to see Penny in with the family, battling with Nicola over Harry - while it wouldn't exactly end well given what happened to Harry's ex Shireen. Kitty told us of wanting to work more with Nicola actress Laura Doddington: "Scenes with Nicola could be great. The thing is, they butt heads because they are quite similar. They've got similar attitudes." ‌ Ready for the action, Jacqueline added: "I think we would want to see it. I'd wanna see it." As for what's coming up on the BBC soap as a new Executive Producer takes over, Kitty teased there would good things to come. Jacqueline told us: "I've heard some rumbles. I heard Kate Oates' source say maybe there are gonna be some returns and for me that excites me, whoever it is." While she did not give away who was coming back, she seemed to give away it's more than one character. The actress also hinted there were massive plots on the way, teasing where the show will be at in six months time. She teased: "I'm a massive fan of the show. I am so excited for [what's happening], cut to 6 months time, where the show will be [in six months time]. It excites me. You don't know but we know, it's very exciting."

Emmerdale's big Robert Sugden return falls flat as ratings are revealed – and it's bad news for the soap

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) EMMERDALE'S big return for Robert Sugden failed to impress fans - with ratings DROPPING from the previous night. The ITV soap's big comeback for actor Ryan Hawley six years was hoped to bring in a major ratings boost for the cash-strapped channel. In fact the episode broadcast the evening before his comeback pulled in just over 3.1m viewers. By Wednesday, the day of Robert's big return - and despite ITV axing the episode from its streaming service ITVX in an effort to get people to watch the TV broadcast - just over 3m tuned in with the show losing viewers. Worst still - the next night that continued Robert's return saw a further 600,000 viewers switch off. In contrast the first edition after Robert was returned to prison, the following Monday's episode rebounded to 3.1m. A source said: 'It's not ideal for such a big moment to not pull in the numbers. 'Bosses expected a great deal of excitement from fans about Robert's return but it doesn't seem to have transferred into actual ratings. 'The so-called Robron coupling was seen as a previous heyday for the show to tap into - but the reality appears to be quite different. 'With all the cuts ITV is having to make, people will be wondering if his return is worth it.' Actor Ryan, who quit the show in 2019, recently revealed he had been struggling for work during his six year absence from the show. Coronation Street and Emmerdale humiliated at British Soap Awards as rival soap wins EIGHT gongs It even led him to move to Brazil with his wife Daisy Prestes de Oliveira and their children for a life away from the spotlight. 'I've got to do things like All Creatures Great and Small, Miss Scarlet, Casualty and Silent Witness,' he told the Mirror. 'I wasn't as busy as I would have liked, but that meant I got to be around my kids a lot, so I was very lucky.' The ITV soaps both suffered a blow at this year's British Soap Awards with Emmerdale winning just two awards and Coronation Street on compared to EastEnders' eight and Hollyoaks' three.

Sabrina Carpenter fans convinced she's taking aim at ex Barry Keoghan in new song

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Fans are certain that Sabrina Carpenter wrote a Taylor Swift-level savage song about her ex Barry Keoghan. The pop diva, 26, announced her new single – titled Manchild – on Tuesday evening via an Instagram post. Highly anticipated by fans of Sabrina Carpenter and messy situationships alike, the song is set to drop on Thursday. The singer shared a vintage-looking teaser video – in which she can be seen wearing daisy dukes, platform shoes, and a tied-up white shirt – hinting at the new song. She captioned the post: 'This one's about you!!' along with details about the song's release. Fans were quick to speculate that the new song is about Barry Keoghan, who Sabrina started dating in December 2023 before breaking up around a year later. Rumours of infidelity and hard partying swirled around the Irish actor in the wake of the split, though nothing was ever confirmed. One fan commented on the post: 'And we know who you are talking about diva'. The official account for the dating app grindr wrote: 'We all thought of him didn't we'. Another added: 'DRAG HIM BABE WE CAN'T WAIT.' One fan chimed in: 'You better clock that Barry!' The pair's much-discussed relationship included music videos, countless break-up rumours, and several social media interactions – and it seems fans are still getting new content even nearly a year later. The pair broke the internet when Barry starred in Sabrina's music video for Please Please Please as the love interest, something she later used against him in an on-stage dig. Performing in Barry's hometown of Dublin, Ireland, back in March, Sabrina spoke to the crowd at Dublin's 3Arena, saying that Irish boys are 'hard work,' drawing a knowing laugh from the crowd. More Trending The dig came before the pop star launched into Please Please Please, which is also widely believed to have been written about her relationship with Barry. One source previously claimed to The Sun that Sabrina and Barry broke up because she was 'fed up' with Barry's behaviour when drunk. Later, unconfirmed rumours that Barry may have been unfaithful to Sabrina were rampant, with the actor going online in December 2024 to plead with disgruntled fans to stop 'showing up at his Granny's door.' Now, it seems – much to the delight of fans – that the drama is still not over, and Sabrina will make sure she gets the last word. Got a story?
