Rangers fans leave Ibrox early after 20 minutes vs Brugge
Romeo Vermant, Jorne Spileers, and Brandon Mechele scored the goals that left Russell Martin's side with a mountain to climb.
Loud boos echoed around the stadium, and Amazon Prime commentator Jon Champion noted the fans who headed for the exits after the third goal.
Co-commentator Neil McCann expressed understanding for the fans who left early.
Rangers' chances at securing £40 million and a place in the league phase of the Champions League now seem bleak, with the return leg in Brugge next week.
This performance leaves the team with much to reflect on, as they look to recover from a disastrous start.

Brugge star revels in Rangers fans' boos as fortress Ibrox crumbles
Brandon Mechele loved hearing the jeers from the Rangers supporters and believes his side have one foot in the Champions League Club Brugge hero Brandon Mechele has confessed he loved hearing the boos rain down from the stands at Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday night. Rangers have a mountain to climb to reach the league phase of the Champions League after a 3-1 shellacking at home to the Belgians. Russell Martin's side shipped three goals inside 20 minutes – to spark a mass exodus of fans. It was a calamitous opening and veteran defender Mechele's superb strike on his 500th appearance for Club Brugge sparked furious scenes among home supporters, with hundreds walking out in outrage. And the Belgian international revealed he was delighted to hear it. He said: "We silenced the crowd to the extent they even booed their own players. "It was fantastic to come here and win and to score such a beautiful goal made it even more special. It's one for the history books. "We were really strong in the first half and we had more chances to score. "But it got tougher when we conceded a quick goal in the second half. We tried to slow the pace of the match and threatened with a few counterattacks. Defensively, we were good. "At home, if we play like we did in the first half, we should be able to go through, but it's still football, so we have to be careful. "Next week is incredibly important." And opening goalscorer Romeo Vermant admitted he couldn't believe it when he was gifted an early opening goal after defender Nasser Djiga inexplicably didn't deal with a high ball. Vermant said: "It's ideal to score after two minutes, especially after a mistake from them. "I expected the defender or the keeper to just pick the ball up, but to my surprise, they both let it go. "Then it was just a case of going for it and yes, it was a pretty good finish, even if I say so myself."

The Toon's statement then added: "Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his team-mates."

Danilo on Rangers' Champions League hopes: 'We'll just keep fighting'
Rangers striker Danilo insists the team will not give up on their Champions League dream and will be 'all out' for a win in Belgium next week. The Ibrox side saw their hopes of reaching the League Phase take a huge blow after a dismal first leg at home on Tuesday. Rangers were 3-0 down after just 20 minutes, with a disastrous defensive display marking the worst possible start to the play-off. Danilo's second-half goal reduced the deficit but leaves the Premiership side needing a miracle in the return match next Wednesday. It was the latest in a series of disappointing results early in head coach Russell Martin's tenure but Danilo said the team would give everything to try and turn things around. 'It's early in the process but obviously in the Champions League, this is not the kind of result you want,' he said. 'We'll just keep fighting. 'We are doing everything we can. I just hope [the supporters] can get behind us as well in these difficult moments. Then we try our best and give it everything we have.' The Ibrox support made their feelings clear at half-time after the three Club Brugge goals that stunned Rangers, booing the team as they headed up the tunnel. Danilo said that was their prerogative but pointed to the backing in the second half, saying it helped with an improved performance. '100 per cent,' he said. 'They have the right to come to the stadium and say what they want. 'They wanted their team to perform. 'The manager was trying to give his best and give his best ideas as well. 'We have to stick with that. It's a bit difficult at the moment but I think it just depends on us. Everybody has to be together because we need everybody on the field and outside too. 'Hopefully we get through. Obviously 100 per cent in Belgium we're going to go all out for the win with a different mindset. 'We just don't want to hurt [the fans]. We just want them to support us and to sing. 'I think that's what the ultras fans did as well. They sang for 90 minutes. 'I think that's what made us believe that we could perform in the second half as well. That's what we needed. Everybody together.'
