I'm sick, I'm sick of doing this with the Kansas City Chiefs, like, get me one real outside receiver, OK?
Like somebody that can run a, a damn, you know, um, 8 to 10 yard curl route against man coverage and like really scare the scare the, the, the, the defense vertically on the outside.
And come back to the football so that like when you're Patrick Holmes and you're under pressure, you get to the top of your drop and that guy is open or you can anticipate him being open.
We have not had a receiver to do that in this, in this, in this era of Chiefs football.
You know, obviously Tyreek is like a one on one player, um, so it's, it's like not even bothering to compare back to then, but like since the Tyreek trade, it's been a lot of these like gadgety power slot guys.
I, I don't think Worthy is a pure gadget player.
I think he's a really, really good player, but I'm just talking about the specific arc type of receiver.
It's probably not gonna happen because like you said, they have a lot of uh needs, but I mean just somebody um somebody in that mold, at some point in the draft, maybe like a low cost free agent.
You know, shoot, even if it is like a, you might have to go veteran rental route, you might have to go like distressed asset Stefon Diggs or like, you know, something like that, but shoot, like I, I would take that at this point if you're the Kansas City Chiefs cause, you know, Rice, if he's out there, Worth if he's out there can probably be your primary target players, but they gotta have a player like that, I think if they want to reach their offensive ceiling and, and I, I will, I will die on that hill.
Diggs is probably a good call, that that might be the best case scenario there, but they do need, they do need something, cause again, you've got like we're we're talking about 29 year old Patrick Mahomes and you got to the Super Bowl and your window is very open for the next, you know, for the foreseeable future.
Um, and I, I would love to see it as well because it's, it's so, it's so stark when they're, when they're in a matchup with a team like Philadelphia, um, that has an AJ Brown, right?
Like, my God, like, let's, let's pair something like that with Patrick Mahomes for a few years and see what it looks like.
You know this, this team needs to trade for George Pickens.
Like, I keep, I keep like imagining that in my mind because I think George Pickens will, again, you could convince me in 2 years he's out of the league or he's, uh, one of the best receivers in the NFL.
That's just like that's the George Pickens range of outcomes.
Um, and, and I feel like if one of those spots where he could maybe be on the uh positive end of that is is Kansas City, and that's like the exact type of receiver they need.
Probably not like a true, you know, they're not gonna find an AJ Brown.
I, I doubt they're gonna find an AJ Brown out there, like, show me where that sleeping giant is at this point.
Um, it's probably not.
Going to be available in the draft, but like just a, just a good starting ex-receiver who can beat man coverage, like get, get that guy and like I think they have to do something creative in that mold.
I'm not saying exactly like they gotta go out and trade for George Pickens.
Oh, their problems are solved, but like something creative in that mold, I think is probably what the Chiefs have to do a wide receiver.

The Kansas City Chiefs are approaching the deadline on what to do about the future of their stadium and Travis Kelce has stated his opinion. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs have called Arrowhead Stadium home since 1972. The facility - which is the oldest in the entire AFC - sits on the Missouri side of the Kansas/Missouri state line that cuts through the city. Advertisement The Chiefs' lease on Arrowhead ends in 2031, and with the need for something fresh, Kansas lawmakers are desperate for the franchise to move to the west side of town. There is reportedly an offer on the table for a $3 billion domed stadium to be built across the border. This option may be a less timely and more expensive solution, but it satisfies Chiefs owner Clark Hunt's ambition to host a Super Bowl - whether the Chiefs play in it or not - with this state-of-the-art facility. Although the Chiefs have Arrowhead for another seven years, the clock is ticking on a decision to accept the new stadium offer. Advertisement Kansas House of Representatives speaker Dan Hawkins reports that each franchise has until the end of this month to make a decision, or the offer is revoked. He remains confident something will work out in his favor. 'I think if they want to get it done, they've still got time to get it done,' he told the Kansas City Star. The year 2031 is also the year MLB's Kansas City Royals lose their rights to Kauffman Stadium - which is next-door neighbors with Arrowhead. Kansas is hoping to grab both teams if they can. 'If one of them wants to — or both — wants to come to Kansas, we'd love to have them. We have the tools," Hawkins added. Advertisement Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, who will undoubtedly be retired by this point, has spoken out about a potential move into Kansas territory. 'Arrowhead is home for me,' Kelce said. 'It's a part of my heart, playing in that stadium. "But the fans want what the fans want. We play for them. I think it's up to them.' The Chiefs are obviously a major draw in the NFL market, but the Hunt family is taking its time in making this decision. "Both options are very much in play,' Hunt said via The Athletic. 'Really, our timeline is driven more by having enough time to do the renovation work or the construction so that we can be in the new or renovated building in the summer of 2031. Advertisement "To really comfortably stay on schedule, it would be best to have some direction by the summer.' Now here we are. The Chiefs are officially on the clock with June 30 circled in red. Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Proves He's Not A One-Trick Pony

Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Proves He's Not A One-Trick Pony originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted receiver Xavier Worthy, many thought the slightly built Texas star was just a pure speed threat, but there was more to his game than that. Advertisement While Worthy was a slow burn to start with, posting just 40+ yards twice in his first nine games, the rookie, who boasts a 4.21 40-yard dash, came to life and totaled at least 40+ yards in his last seven regular-season games (excluding Week 18 vs. Broncos). Plus, Worthy was a star in the postseason, posting totals of 45, 85, and 157 yards along with three touchdowns, so he wasn't just a deep ball threat; he could be used all over the field in a variety of ways. And his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, found out rather quickly that Worthy had more than just one arrow in his quiver. 'The biggest thing I learned is he's not just fast, he can make plays,' Mahomes said of Worthy. 'You saw that with some of the contested catches that he made towards the end of the season, the Bills game, or even the last catch he had in the Super Bowl, he's someone that will go up and make a play on the football. Advertisement "So my job is to give him more opportunities even when he's running with someone and it's one-on-one, throw the ball, let him go up there and make a play. Adding Hollywood [Brown] and then having Rashee back out there is going to give him more and more opportunities to stretch the field.' Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (1).Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Worthy developed into quite the weapon for Andy Reid and Mahomes down the stretch as he had at least five targets in his last 10 games, so there was confidence from the coaching staff to give him the ball. Now entering Year 2, Worthy will have Rashee Rice and a much healthier Marquise Brown alongside him as the Chiefs look to take their passing game up a notch. Advertisement Yes, Worthy still has the home-run threat on the deep ball, but he showcased his vast array of skills last season, whether that be jet sweeps or quick slants, both of which regularly picked up big yards. Whatever is in store for Worthy in 2025, it is clear that he isn't a one-trick pony, and that makes him a dangerous proposition for defenses to try and slow down. The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in an unfamiliar spot, having finished the last two seasons on top, but the bitter taste of defeat suffered back in February has given Patrick Mahomes and his teammates the motivation to bounce back stronger in 2025. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Most NFL franchises still dream of making their first Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs have made it to the league's biggest stage in five of the last six seasons. Three of those ended in triumph and the two leading up to Super Bowl LIX saw the Chiefs reach the summit. Advertisement Going for their third in a row they were utterly dismantled in their fall from grace. While they ran through an AFC gauntlet once again and notched 17 total wins to their belt, the focus of the offseason has centered on that 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. Through the ups and downs of the dynasty, the Chiefs have continuously found ways to respond and keep delivering championship-worthy campaigns. They are now tasked with that same objective and according to Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs want to turn the lessons of last season into an advantage for them. "When you lose a Super Bowl, I think there's sometimes in those workouts, you may be a little tired, you have that extra added motivation to finish even harder, finish even stronger," Mahomes said this week. "I think it'll be good for us at the end of the day. "I mean, obviously looking back, you want to win the game. But a lot these guys hadn't lost one (Super Bowl), hadn't ended the season on a loss that are on this team now. So, I'm sure they'll be motivated to go back out there and try to find a way to get to the Super Bowl and win it this year." Advertisement Motivation will certainly be a driving force of the offseason and Kansas City will need plenty of it to get them to the level necessary to defend their AFC crown. The Chiefs have tinkered with their roster, hoping to make another run deep into the postseason. That challenges increases in difficulty yet again with rising contenders including the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills who nearly had their number a few months back. Having gone through this before and come out the other side, it's hard to imagine Mahomes not being a conduit of this motivation throughout the summer. As strange as it may seem, Kansas City's defeat could be a good thing for their crucial 2025.
